Bound and Unbroken: Snippet 3 #SnippetSunday
This is from my WIP, Bound and Unbroken (BDSM Romance).
You can find the last snippet I shared, here.
—
“So, you don’t like basketball, and from the looks of your last drink, you’d been nursing it for a while, so you didn’t come here for the alcohol—”
“Now who’s being observant?” Lena glared at him from under her half-raised head. “My roommate said I needed to get out of the house, so he dragged me along and I stubbornly refused to move from this spot once we got here.”
“And your roommate just left you to fend for yourself?”
“I’m doing just fine, thank you.”
Caught up between the push and pull of her emotions and the way her chest threatened to implode every time he smiled, Lena occupied herself by running her fingers through the condensation on the side of the glass and watching the cold water trickle down. She was out of her comfort zone and way out of her league.

Where am I? #ROW80
I’m not even sure when my last update was. Can someone send me a house elf just to keep track of my calendar? It would be appreciated.
It’s been snowing all weekend here. I love snow. I’m even the weirdo crazy person who loves driving in snow, but we’re stuck in the house because my husband’s pickup is parked behind my car, and trying to get them switched around doesn’t seem like fun.
What am I working on?
Book 1: Beyond the Divide (Paranormal, Urban Fantasy) 9959 words
Book 2: Bound and Unbroken (BDSM Romance) 49,800 words
December Goals
Writing
Goal 1: Finish Bound and Broken and send it to Betas by December 29
Since I only have 1 more week of work before my holiday vacation, this seems quite doable. I’ll probably be adding another 15k to the story.
When I initially set out to write Bound and Unbroken, I wanted 1 POV (Lena’s). Then, I decided that it’d be fun to include Eric, but he’d never let me in his head when I tried to do a scene with him. Back to 1 POV…. but guess what! Now Eric has suddenly decided that he wants me in his head.
So confusing. At this stage in the game I want to tell him to suck it up and deal, but I also want to dig into his character….
Goal 2: Finalize the cover
It’s coming along! After finally finding a base image that I like and that will capture the mood of the story, I’m happily moving along with cover production. I expect it to be revealed in late January.
Non-Writing Goals
Stay sane.

Release Day: Unsettled by S.C. Ellington

Unsettled by S.C. Ellington
Hosted by: Bare Naked Words
Release Day 10th December

After a horrific breakup with her long time boyfriend, Brooklyn Caldwell is completely disenchanted with the notion of mingling with the opposite sex. Damon Williams had been everything she thought she wanted…until he wasn’t.
In an attempt to escape her heartbreaking past, Brooklyn seeks refuge in bustling Washington DC where she folds into the fast paced society unnoticed…until she meets a young entrepreneur, Logan Colton.
Brooklyn is surprised to find that while she has been successful in keeping the opposite sex at bay, somehow she is defenseless against Logan’s confidence and charm—and it doesn’t hurt that he is absurdly beautiful. While thrilled with Logan’s candor, Brooklyn hesitates, as she can’t seem to move past the heartache that she suffered at the hands of Damon.
As much as Logan didn’t plan on pursuing her, he is drawn to Brooklyn’s muted beauty and her witty persona. For all his success, Logan is ensnared in the coveted world of unequivocal wealth and power, but behind closed doors is taunted by demons and an undeniable need to atone for a monumental mistake.
As the two embark on a tumultuous obstacle course saturated with unknown twists and turns, Brooklyn is left to question whether she can endure the journey ahead.

Excerpt
“I couldn’t breathe. I saw her below me. I couldn’t make out her face, but I knew she was someone close. Something was wrapped around her ankles, I thrust myself deeper into the darkness. The salty red water was all around me. Claps of thunder rang in my ears, but I plunged further into the bottomless abyss. Intense fear gripped my heart valve so tightly I thought it would burst, but I knew she needed me.”

December #IWSG and #ROW80 Update

Click the image to view the participant list!
Even with today marked on my calender, I didn’t get today’s post written up ahead of time, so here goes!
Welcome back IWSG members (if you’re here for my ROW80 update all of my stats will follow at the bottom of this post).
November went too fast! And now that I have one book on the market and have begun writing two others, the chaos never ends. I feel like I’m never doing enough, especially on the marketing side (UGH!). I feel like those performers with all of the spinning plates on poles…
Something like that, anyway. :p I’m sure almost everyone here can relate.
Last month, I participated in NaNoWriMo and won with 50,346–so that’s where a huge chunk of my time went. Then there’s trying to build a Street Team, connecting with book bloggers, connecting with other authors & supporting giveaways and events. I love it all, but WOW, I need to find a better way to manage my time and keep track of everyone and everything.
My biggest insecurity, by a mile is writing in 2 genres. I’ll be continuing my Paranormal Urban Fantasy series–I’ve always been completely in love with paranormal, so that genre feels like home. But I’m also writing a BDSM Romance that has been swimming around in my head begging to be written since June. Talk about intimidating!
I’m feeling my way around working in both genres at nearly the same time with continued marketing for Fractured Legacy and forming connections for the upcoming romance.
Anyone have similar experiences?
#ROW80
What am I working on?
Book 1: Beyond the Divide (Paranormal, Urban Fantasy) 9959 words–poor thing hasn’t gone anywhere since the first week of November
Book 2: Bound and Unbroken (BDSM Romance) 40,515 words
November Goals–wrap up
Writing
Average Words per day: 1,678
Current Total for NaNoWriMo 50,346
Well, I pulled off the NaNoWriMo minimum, I had hoped for more this month, but progress is progress.
Non-Writing Goals
Do non-writing goals exist around the holidays? Seems like there’s less time for anything, but I did lose 10 lbs.
December Goals
Get Bound and Unbroken to beta readers, and work on rewrites.
Get at least another 20k added to Beyond the Divide.

Bound and Unbroken: Snippet 2 #WeWriWa #SnippetSunday
This is from my WIP, Bound and Unbroken (BDSM Romance).
You can find the last snippet I shared, here.
—
“That’s exactly what you’d say if you were that kind of guy.”
The dim lighting of the bar caught his hazel eyes as he leaned back and chuckled. “You’re an observant little loner.”
“Not nearly enough, sometimes.” Lena leaned propped her arms on the bar and leaned against them. From across the room, Jeremiah caught her eye and nodded toward Rusty. She shook her head, and turned back to her drink before Rusty noticed her staring at her roommate. If she was going to be stuck at the bar all night, she was going to make a good time of it.

Getting Closer #ROW80
What a week?!? That’s all I really want to say. I sat down to write this post on Sunday but never finished due to a headache, so I’m giving it another go.
What am I working on?
Book 1: Beyond the Divide (Paranormal, Urban Fantasy) 9959 words
Book 2: Bound and Unbroken (BDSM Romance) 34,680 words
and I finally got a blurb written up:
Lena is perfectly content spending her Friday evenings at home enjoying the quiet, but when her roommate insists that she needs to get out more and drags her to a sports bar, she shows him up by flirting with the handsome stranger who sits down next to her. Their anonymous conversation leads to a shared cab ride, but Lena’s conscience puts a damper on the evening. Her near-fling left to become a memory.
Until she finds him roaming the halls of the school where she teaches.
Eric has enough to deal with, recently given custody of his seven-year-old nephew, but he wants something more from Lena. When he reveals his desires, can she submit to what he wants?
And will his binds be enough to keep her?
November Goals
Writing
Average Words per day: 1,653
Current Total for NaNoWriMo 44,639
My NaNoWriMo tip, don’t try to write a blurb! It spent me nearly a week of writing time just to get my blurb drafted, but once I started, I just couldn’t get it out of my head long enough to do much else.
Also, don’t start watching a new series. I spent most of last week watching Dexter on Netflix. O_O
Non-Writing Goals
Both the juicing and exorcising have been a bit inconsistent lately. Too much going on! But in general, I have noticed that I’m getting a little more tone, so that’s an improvement.
To everyone reading, I hope you have a fantastic Thanksgiving (if you’re in the US and celebrating) or just a fantastic week in general. FRACTURED LEGACY is currently on sale for 99 cents and will be through Cyber Monday. There are also a lot of other great authors with books on sale or going on sale this week, if you’re curious, or you’re one of the authors with a book on sale for Black Friday, check out Kristin Duvall’s Linky and add your book if it qualifies!
