Boundary Waters VORTEX at the Canadian Border

My friends and I were on a camping trip near the Canadian Border what is known as the BWCA.

The wind and weather were all but strange. Everyone else left there phone/camera back because it is so primitive however, I was the only individual to carry a phone/camera for an emergency. Not quite sure how this photo managed to come out but the whole trip was somewhat out of the ordinary.

Where do the Vargas think You Could Travel?

Cory and G Varga travel the world in search of soft adventure experiences and off-the-beaten path destinations. Their web site You Could Travel and social media channels feature their visually immersive photography.  They are passionate about inspiring others through information packed articles that revolve around travel guides, recommendations, and tips.

1.)Where was the first place that you traveled that made you think WOW—travel is amazing (think history book come to life or …..)

The first ever place that WOW-ed me has to be Japan. Although my husband and I have been travelling for a year before visiting Japan, that was the place that made us truly fall in love with a country.

2.)If you had unlimited resources, where would you go and what would you do?

We would love to visit every country and spend around one month in each place. We would love to interact with locals, understand how it’s like to live in that country. Then, at the end of it all, we would write a book about our travels and grow old together somewhere sunny, close to the beach.

3.)What were you afraid to do and how did you find the courage to overcome it?

I worked really hard to attain my desired lifestyle in the UK. Selling everything I worked for and starting new, was a bit terrifying. The idea of living out of a suitcase wasn’t that appealing, but after a few months of consideration, wedecided to give it a go and see what happens. We now can’t imagine our lifestyle any other way.

4.)What apps do you use regularly that make your life easier?

Google maps and google translate are our two go-to-apps for when we travel. Apart from that, we are a little old school and we do all our research online without relying on any other apps.

5.)What place do you wish more people have seen?

I would love for more people to visit Europe by (electric) car. I think there is nothing cooler than crossing a country by car, having a Eurotrip, enjoying that excitement when you drive and see a mountain, a beach, a landscape to remember.

6.)Best advice you have been given and by whom?

My grandfather once told me that you get what you pay for. He was SO right!

7.)When were you surprised by the kindness of strangers on a trip?

We got lost in Tenerife, back in 2014. We were on our way to the bus stop to catch the last bus back to the city. Unfortunately, we realised we were miles away and we were totally lost. We asked strangers for directions in Spanish but one kind man offered to give us a lift to the bus stop so we can safely arrive back to our hotel before it gets dark. What a sweet man!

8.)What inspired you to travel for extended periods of time or live in a new country?

We are both a young married couple who love to learn new things. We didn’t want to just live our life by working, going to the same shop, getting the same things, cooking with the same ingredients, walking in the same park. Wewanted to experience as much of this world as possible and spice things up.

I’m not going to lie, it can get tedious to move from flat A to flat B all the time. But ultimately, it’s a great life experience and we prefer it to an ordinary routine.

9.)I travel because….

I want to learn everything about everything.

10.) My favorite travel or business book is…

City of Djinns
Book by William Dalrymple

11.)  How about hotels?  What’s your favorite or one you’d recommend?

Four Seasons in the Seychelles where we spent part of our honeymoon.

Lastly, can you please recommend a resource for up-and-coming travel writers; this could be a course you know, a book, conference etc.
