I was born in the city of Sint-Niklaas (Belgium), but grew up in a small village called Kieldrecht. In primary school my interest in writing was awakened by the weekly essays we had to write in class. It appeared that my imagination was an asset and my friends always asked me to tell the storylines of the movies I saw with my older brothers. As I grew older my interest in literature and languages (mostly Dutch and English) increased and I finally realised writing was my thing. But the real breakthrough came when I read 'The sword of Shannara' by Terry Brooks. It appealed to me so much that I knew I wanted to do this too. So I started my own fantasy story.
