Giveaway BEHOLD A LONE HORSEMAN
Excerpt from BEHOLD A LONE HORSEMAN -
".....Aiden lifted his teacup, noting with a peculiar detachment that his hand
shook. An unsettling suspicion was growing within him. He didn't want to know. Not now. And he needn't. Regan was so engrossed in the photograph that she was paying no attention to his quaking hands and runaway imagination that must be mirrored in his face. He had only to steer the conversation to another subject and they would be safe. Yet, he continued to speak of it. 'Kenton Townsend was a brilliant photographer.'
She looked up, eager to share memories of the man she'd so adored.'Did you know him in Philadelphia?'
'I may have met him, and I did see his work. It's been so long,I can't be sure.' To cover his alarm, he put down his cup with a bang, then took the copper plate from her and returned it to a drawer across the room. He stood with his back to her, staring down at his balled fists. He forced a smile and turned back. "Well, it's been my great pleasure having you as my guest. Now I must get you home as I'm sure you have a
dozen things to do,preparing for your first customers. Let me ask Hendrik to have a carriage brought around.' He left
the room but was back shortly. 'Shall we
wait by the door?' He offered his arm.
Regan felt like she was being dismissed. Longing to know what had changed between them, she stared at the
vein throbbing in his temple. She wanted
to ask but something too remote to analyze kept her silent.
Sensing her bewilderment, he gave her a smile, touching her hand resting in the crook of his arm. The moment passed....'"

5 Stars for THE UNINVITED GUESTS by Sadie Jones
I've been remiss lately making entries herein but I do have a good excuse. I've
been finishing up my new book MARIPOSA -
BOOK ONE - THE QUEST, the first book in
a family saga trilogy.
Now I hope to get back to more reviews etc.I recently finished a delightful novel THE UNINVITED GUESTS by Sadie Jones where British wit meets manor mystery with the result being a delicious romp by a critically acclaimed author.
At the aging country estate, Sterne, a
birthday party for eldest daughter Emerald Torrington's 20th birthday. As the festivities get underway, a dreadful
accident nearby causes a small crowd of
unsavory survivors to descend on Sterne,
seeking shelter from an approaching storm.
The rainy night is given over to peculiar
parlor games and 'great undertakings' in
a frightening and enchanting drama of
dark goings-on in a witty Edwardian setting. Lovely, lovely read and I give
it 5 Stars.

Review of SEVEN WONDERS by Ben Mezrickk
In Ben Mezrick's novel SEVEN WONDERS, i
found an intriguing premise of garden of
Edens tied to the 7 Ancient Wonders of the
World and to the 7 Modern Wonders of the
World. Through the fast-paced chapters
where 'tickle the ivories' takes on a whole
new meaning, the improbable becomes realized. Mezrich masterfully ties such
disparate religions as Muslim, Judeo-
Christian, Hindu, Incan and Mayan into a
comprehensive, mysterious take that would
make Clive Cussler proud. The ending was
a bit murky with the world shattering
revelations unprovable and the mysterious
power behind the evil still unknown. But
the two protagonists walk happily into a
heart-shaped sunset. It was a hectic but
satisfying read to the end. I give SEVEN
WONDERS 4 Stars.
