Yeah... I wish

My friend and I thought we were cool and put a copy of my book on a shelf in a retail store. I think it looks pretty damn cozy snuggled in there, wouldn't you agree?
Next time, I'm going to leave a copy there and stand back with a video camera to see if anyone picks it up.
Wow. That wasn't creepy at all...

REVIEW - THE MOON DWELLERS

Well, let me just first and foremost say that the author of this book is a LOVELY human being. He is everything a self-published author should be, and he has been blessed because of his humility and commitment, now with a successful writing career and more incredible opportunities to come!
Now to the review. This was the first novel I have read by David Estes. I have to say, I find it incredibly difficult to pick up a book these days when all I want to do is write my own, but The Moon Dwellers was one of those rare birds that yanked me right into the story and had me rooting for the characters from page 1.
Normally, I don’t like it when characters act all tough and badass in the first chapter without actually proving that they’ve earned that. But after the prologue, I could understand how Adele – the heroine – had become tough, since she’d been living in the Pen (a juvenile center for the Moon Dwellers) for seven months and lost her entire family in one night. That was well played by the author, I must say. Adele was a great main character, who didn’t swoon over the hunk prince, Tristan, and who led her friends out of the Pen into even more peril. She exhibited relatable emotions and I was rooting for her from the start.
Tristan was also a great character. I loved the sort of David/Jonathon relationship between him and his best friend Roc. He was also very caring and determined and a bit of a rebel too, which I liked.
The aspect of their connection would normally irk me, because I like characters to get to know one another before they fall magically in love, but I understand that it’s a part of the story, and they were thrown into this high-pressure situation. And things always happen in high-pressure situations. It’s expected.
Overall, I was left feeling just a little deflated. I know it’s supposed to end on a cliffhanger to lead into the next part (believe me, my book does that as well and I’ve heard it kills people!). What annoyed me was that Adele separated from Tristan. Why? You were just about to kiss. Seriously? Urgh.
David, you’re a truly fantastic writer, and you have left me wanting to pick up the next book, which is very impressive because I give up on most sagas unless they’re really good. The world building, the complete characters and the excitement of the novel kept me on my toes and itching for more. I was proud of Adele, and I definitely think she is a strong, independent heroine with the power to change the world.

Ahoy, Pirates!
It's extremely weird to Google yourself (and your book) and see some lovely connections to reviews and your own blog, but also to find links to websites on the internet that have pirated your book.
I'll be the first to admit that we all do it. I understand there's no way of stopping it, things get pirated all the time. And it doesn't really bother me that much, so long as people are actually reading my book.
But let me remind you, Pirates of the internet world, that it is still ILLEGAL. So below is my message to you in regards to the horrendous act you are performing:

And just as an added stab to the gut, Piraters, you may be allowing people to read my book at no cost whatsoever (and even reading it yourself), but that just means you are helping me market my book through the internet world which - in a way - makes me want to thank you. For authors who have had their works pirated, I feel your pain. This post in Stephanie's blog helped me feel a bit better at catching these rascals, so check it out if you're feeling a little cheated. Stephanie's blog

Amazing review
Hey all,
Just wanted to share this incredible review of my newly released book 'Rouge', written by author Casey Bond (Website here). Casey has written a section with spoilers and one without, so if you haven't read the book, DO NOT read the section under the heading *BELOW CONTAINS SPOILERS*. Duh.
Thanks so much Casey for your kind words, I hope you receive the same for your novel.
REVIEW OF ROUGEby Casey BondIsabella Modra has created a new world within our own. A world where some people are born with or absorb certain powers. With powers come responsibility and we follow, a very believable teenaged Hunter, as she discovers and learns to harness the power of fire--a power that she was born with and struggles to control. It rages within.
While attempting to keep her power under control, she also tries to use it to help others, while keeping it a secret. There are those who would kill to have such a weapon under their control. Hunter learns to love, a normal teenage boy named Eli captures her heart. And she sets his on fire as well. But not before capturing the attention of his best friend, Jack.
When things heat up between the three and she learns secrets about her guardian--the man who raised her after her parents died, the story gets very exciting. I give it 5 stars!!! Stellar writing, characters that come to life, and a brilliant sequel looming in the horizon!
*BELOW CONTAINS SPOILERS*
I enjoyed this book so much and cannot wait for the sequel. I can't wait to see what happens with Eli and Jack.
The book made me laugh out loud several times, especially when she prayed that the apartment she was preparing to enter wasn't a red room of pain! HA! Brilliant.
Also, the Back to the Future stuff. I loved it.
Overall, Rouge was a wonderful read. The concept of fire and ice trapped inside of people is a very interesting one. The beginning was engaging and grabbed my attention, the story unfolded, keeping it. I liked how you started with her parents and their story and how the fire came to be apart of her. Their story was as important as hers, in my opinion. I loved Eli. How he simply loved her and how you so tastefully described their love making. It wasn't smutty or pornographic. Just passionate and beautiful.
I loved how you wove Jack into the story and cannot wait to see more of him in the sequel. And my goodness. The ice to Hunter's fire--Joshua. I love how you included the worried note from her Mother regarding his behavior changes. I just loved it. I would recommend this book to anyone.

But sh*t, it was 99 cents!

Maaannnn.... self publishing is hard!
I thought $2.99 was pretty cheap for a book... turns out it's not because my sales haven't been doing that great. I know, I have high expectations for myself, but doesn't everyone? So I've lowered the price to 99 cents ($2 difference... really? Really?). And if it works and I sell a billion times more than I am at the moment, then I guess it will even itself out, right?
Here's hoping :)
**99 cents bargain!**

My Travels
So some of you may have heard me mention I love to travel. In my 19 years, I've only ever been to Thailand with my family (3 times on holiday) and then last year I did my first big overseas trip with my best friend Charlley.
There, we had many adventures.
We travelled for 3 months throughout Europe. We went to London, Paris, Italy, Venice, Barcelona, Munich, Prague, Berlin, Swiss Alps, Stockholm, Cairo, Mykonos, Santorini, Edinburgh, Dublin, Hamburg and Vatican City... to name a few :) It was the most amazing time of my life, and since then I have decided to travel and write for as long as I can, and to see the world before I die.
So here are some of my favorite pictures (btw, I lost my camera on a very drunk night in Edinburgh, so all of these were taken by the lovely Charlley). I hope you get a taste of the world and that they ignite a passion inside you to see it for yourself.
