He’s an unexpected complication, but I’m a professional and I know exactly how to handle him... who am I trying to fool? I have no idea how to handle him. She’d never met anyone like him before. He was smart, strong, and fearless, while at the same time thoughtful and kind — not to mention the fact that he was the most gorgeous man she’d ever seen in her life. He seemed almost perfect and if she wanted to be honest — which she didn’t — she would have to admit that every time he was around, she would lose her mind and forget all about her assignment. Her assignment…. She suddenly felt guilty. She turned off the water, grabbed a towel and rushed to the bedroom to grab her cell phone. Her sudden moves made her ache all over, but she wouldn’t allow the pain to stop her. She was so grateful she hadn’t carried her big purse with her last night, but a small one that hung from her belt. Fortunately, her passport and cell phone survived last night’s ordeal. The face of little, innocent Aphrodite came to her mind and Jackie let out a deep breath. I have to do this, she told herself firmly. She anxiously picked up the cell phone and pressed the speed dial.A few minutes later, she placed the cell phone down on the dresser in her bedroom and smiled, thinking of Michael’s surprise when he would wake up tomorrow morning.

Michael glanced at her and kept silent, as well. His mind kept going back to everything that had happened in these last few months, and especially in the last twenty-four hours. He needed answers, and he needed them right now. And the last thing he’d expected when he came out here was to find a beauty like this breaking into the Demiris mansion.Who is she? And if she’s telling the truth about being a relative of Constantinos, why break in? His logic told him she couldn’t be trusted — after all, she had already escaped from him once — while his instinct told him otherwise. But was it really his instinct? Or, was it the fact that she was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen in his life? His thoughts flew back to the very first moment he laid eyes on her. He was taken aback by the lovely face with the beautiful eyes and the sensuous lips. And then his gaze had moved to the soft golden-brown hair barely touching her shoulders, and the sexy body with the womanly curves that were so obvious underneath her jeans and blouse, which hugged her body like a glove.

He picked her up again and entered the woods, heading back for his car, hidden behind the mansion. He moved swiftly and quietly, paying attention to every slight motion and sound. The suspicions and unanswered questions were devouring him. He had to find out who was responsible for all those deaths. This wasn’t just another mission. This was a personal quest for justice. And what about the girl in his arms? Was she innocent or was she also involved in all these murders? His instinct told him she couldn’t be involved in the murders. But then again, why did she run away from him? She might not be a murderer, but her motives weren’t that innocent either. Otherwise, why come out here all alone in the middle of the night? One thing was for sure though — the girl had guts. He had to be very careful with her. She couldn’t be trusted.Damn! He cursed silently. If only she weren’t so hot. Just thinking of her lovely face, with the beautiful honey-brown eyes and the sensuous lips trembling under his flashlight, made his blood run hot in his veins. Whoever she was, she was a knockout. But Michael knew better than to be affected by appearances… didn’t he?

Excerpt of "Spellbound in His Arms"

Pushing through the heavy shrubbery, Jackie raced towards the small dirt road where her rented car was hidden. Reaching the car, she panicked. Where did she have the car keys? She searched her pockets and was relieved to feel the key in her hand. But to get it in the lock was another story. Trying hard to control her trembling, she finally managed to unlock the door on the third try. She jumped inside and locked the door behind her. Breathing heavily, she leaned back against the headrest and closed her eyes for a moment.I need to pull myself together! All she wanted right now was to drive away. She turned the key in the ignition and was relieved to hear the old engine roar to life. She heard someone calling out for her, but she wasn’t about to stop. She pressed her foot down on the gas pedal and drove off as fast as she could.Speeding around a sharp curve, a man dashed out of the woods and into her path. She screamed and wrenched the wheel violently to the right. The car fishtailed and skidded off the road. It veered towards the edge of the cliff, fast, out of control.Jackie shoved against the door with all her strength. It wouldn’t budge. Oh, God! This is really happening. She was going to die. There was nothing she could do to stop this dreadful nightmare. She clutched the steering wheel and gritted her teeth. The car rattled all over the place. She drew a sudden breath and her body went rigid. The car plunged over the edge and she screamed at the top of her lungs. The vast blue of the sea filled her vision. A sharp pain shot through her head. Time seemed to stop and everything went blank…
