Living the life of your dreams might be easier than you think

Success is great. But failure is also acceptable since you’re one step closer to succeeding next time.
If you’re afraid of failure, then you’re scared of trying… you’re scared of living.

I believe that it’s vital years down the road to be able to think back and have no regrets for not going after your dreams.

Family and career obligations, as well as the responsibilities of everyday life, are a good excuse for procrastinating. But in the end, you’ll never know what might have happened if you had given yourself a chance to accomplish what you really wanted. Keep in mind that unless you try, you have no chance to succeed.

I’ve made many mistakes throughout the years, but I’ve learned from them. At least, I didn’t make the mistake of not trying at all.

I get disappointed and sometimes even scared. But then, I pick myself up and move on. As Joseph P. Kennedy said, “When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.” And he was absolutely right.

We’re here on this earth to learn and be all that we can be. And how can we accomplish that, if we never give ourselves a chance?

His charcoal gray eyes were icy cold...

Opening the French doors, Christina stepped out on the balcony. She leaned over the railings but soon realized it was too high to jump. Even though she was only on the first floor, the house was built on a hill, and the ground underneath was too far.A quick glance around revealed one of the dogwood trees landscaping the yard had branches reaching her balcony. Without a second thought, she climbed over the railing and onto the thickest branch she could reach. Her heartbeat stuttered at the cracking noise. Determined, she steadied herself using another branch until her fingers touched the trunk. Despite the dizzy, sick feeling in her stomach, Christina held on tightly as she started climbing down.Only a few feet from the ground, she froze at the low, vibrating growls coming from below. Not even breathing, she glanced down to see two Dobermans staring up at her.Oh, my God! Terror washed over her. Now what? She was too weak to climb back up. As a matter of fact, she was too weak to hold on any longer. She would fall to the ground any minute, and she would be torn to pieces by those two killers growling at her. Feeling her arms letting go, she closed her eyes in panic, and a scream escaped her lips.Right before she hit the ground, she heard a voice in the distance. A sharp pain shot through her ribs and left shoulder. She lay there in agony with her eyes tightly shut, too scared to even breath. She could feel the dogs breathing down on her, but they didn’t attack.Someone approached, but Christina kept her eyes shut, feeling her heart thundering in her chest. When a hand touched her forehead, her eyes flew open. A man wearing a polo shirt and a pair of jeans leaned over her. He was dark and handsome, but his charcoal gray eyes were icy cold. While staring into those eyes, a shiver caressed her spine. He was bad news, and Christina felt the urge to flee. However, even if she managed to stand on her feet, there was nowhere to run…His lips pressed into a thin line; the man peered down at her for a moment, which to Christina seemed like an eternity. Then he stood up. At his command, the dogs backed off, and Christina heard people running from the house. She turned and saw two men rushing toward them with guns in their hands.“Take her back upstairs!” the one standing over her ordered in a harsh voice.Christina swallowed hard, feeling her mouth dry. The guy watched as the two men grabbed her by the arms and violently pulled her to her feet. Then he turned around and walked toward the other side of the house with the dogs following him. The two bullies half-carried, half-dragged her upstairs to her room and threw her on the bed. When the door closed behind them, she rolled over, hiding her face in the pillow, letting her tears from excruciating pain and fear run free...
End of the excerpt

I hope you have enjoyed this excerpt of award-winning mystery romance Dark Shadows of the Past. Keep in mind that Christina is desperately trying to conceal her real identity, and the handsome detective is fighting to protect her. But her secret won’t stay buried for long, and the truth could mean death for them both. Do you want to find out what happened to Christina?

You can accomplish anything you want if you put your mind to it

Good morning, my friends and readers.
I'm so excited today and wanted to share my news with you all. Today is the first day since my knee surgery that I was able to complete forty-five minutes of dancing aerobics followed by half an hour of Karate. It might not sound like much to some of you, but it makes me feel fantastic. Like my excellent surgeon, Mr. Pantelis Nikolaou says, "you can accomplish anything you want if you put your mind to it."

My motto has always been, "sleep well, eat well, and exercise well." Well, no problem with sleep, and I try to watch what I eat "most of the time." I do, however, indulge in some pizza or dessert now and then. But after the surgery, exercising hasn't been easy. After all, I'm not a professional soccer player to get back on the field within a few months of knee surgery.

And now that I said a professional soccer player, I need to share this with you all. Ever since my little boy was born, I've been trying to teach him my motto. He's been pretty good with exercising but doesn't like sleep that much, and he indulges in sweets and potato chips now and then.
But yesterday, BOOM! A revelation! He said, "Mom, you know what? I read an interview with Cristiano Ronaldo, and he said that to keep in top shape at his age, he sleeps well, eats well, and exercises well!"
And I'm like "What? Well, okay! If Ronaldo says so, then you should do it."
Thank you, Ronaldo!

Spring is here, and I feel like giving away some books!

These last few months have been devastating for my family and me, both physically and emotionally. We had to bear the loss of my beloved father after battling Alzheimer’s for years. We went through a dramatizing burglary. And I had an accident that severely injured my knee and had to undergo surgery.

But spring is finally here, and the breathtaking display of Mother Nature gives me hope for better days to come.

It took a lot of effort to start welcoming every new day with a smile again and have positive thoughts flooding my mind.

And what makes things even better is that I started writing again. Writing for me is like the air I breathe; I need it to feel whole again.

I’m so excited about my new novel “Eternal Soul Mates”. Yes, you guessed it right; “Eternal Soul Mates” is another mystery romance in The Greek Isles Series, taking place on the amazing Greek Island of Zakynthos.

This is the first time, I write a story about soul mates and reincarnation—two concepts that always fascinated me. “Eternal Soul Mates” is filled with mystery, suspense and of course, romance like all my other novels in The Greek Isles Series and The Alluring Love Collection. But what makes it different is that my hero and heroine have a strong karmic connection. Fate and destiny contribute to a magical romantic bliss while a deadly threat is hovering over them. As danger and passion collide, the two soul mates—unaware that they were lovers in a past life—confront each other while at the same time try to resist the compelling force that draws them together.

Feeling excited about spring and my new novel, I want to give away some books!  The first ten people who post a comment below this blog post will receive a free copy of any one of my novels they want to read next.

If you’re not already a member of my Free Readers Group, remember to subscribe for a chance to win more FREE e-books from my award-winning, bestselling Greek Isles Series. I pick one lucky winner each week from my subscribers’ list.
I wish you all a fantastic day!

Last night I dreamed of the Greek Island of Skopelos

It all seems like yesterday that my husband and I spent two unforgettable weeks on the fantastic Greek Island of Skopelos.

What can I say? The beauty of the landscape, the lush vegetation, the endless sandy beaches, the crystal clear waters, the sea turtles, the picturesque villages… There is just so much to remember and make me wish we could go back soon.

We stayed at Adrina Beach Resort & Spa, at Panormos Bay, a lovely beach hotel that took its name from the famous pirate woman Adrina.

According to the legend, Adrina arrived on Skopelos with her pirate ship to take over the city. But when her men were defeated by the people of Skopelos, she sank her boat in the bay so that her treasure would not fall into the hands of the Skopelites. Adrina did not make it to shore and drowned. Since then, the area is named Adrina, and many people have searched for the famous treasure, but the location of her sunken ship remains an enigma that stimulates the imagination of visitors and locals.

During our stay at this family-oriented sanctuary, with the traditional maisonettes offering a spectacular view of the brilliant blue Aegean Sea, we met a lovely couple, Stephanos and Eleanna. Of course, these are not their real names but the names I gave them in my mystery romance novel “Lethal Web of Passion”.

Stephanos was a successful Greek businessman who made a fortune in real estate. Having lost his parents at a young age, he was raised by a wealthy, authoritarian aunt.

Eleanna was born in London to an English mother and a Greek father. She used to work in London as a legal assistant until she came to Greece and met Stephanos. Another exciting thing about her was that despite her delicate and seemingly fragile figure, Eleanna was a martial arts expert.
My husband and I had lots of fun with this exciting couple, swimming, driving around the island, enjoying delicious meals, doing water sports, etc.

We got talking, and their life and backgrounds intrigued me very much, especially Eleanna’s family history. She told us about her mother coming from England and meeting her father on the island. And so, a new story formed in my head… “Lethal Web of Passion”.
Eleanna gave me the inspiration, but “Lethal Web of Passion” is a product of my imagination and doesn’t include real facts of that fascinating young lady’s life or the intriguing way she met Stephanos.

If you would like to check out “Lethal Web of Passion”, the novel is available as an e-book or paperback on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Apple, Kobo and other fine booksellers everywhere.

Do you believe in ghosts?

Book Excerpt

They lost track of time, and when they finally left the cave, they were surprised to see the sky covered with heavy clouds. Alex was alarmed and told Helena they had to get out of there immediately. That's when they heard the first thunder. They picked up their stuff in a hurry and carried it to the boat.By the time Alex started the engine, the wind was howling, and the boat was rocking pretty badly. Helena sat in the back, holding on tightly to her seat as her stomach was doing flips. Alex was fighting the wind and the waves. He was trying hard to keep the boat away from the rocks, but the wind wouldn’t let them get farther out. She wanted to help but didn’t know how as she knew nothing about boats.

It seemed they were at the same place forever. The wind got even stronger, and it was pouring down with rain. Soaked to the bone, Helena was freezing and petrified… I should have listened to Martha. She knew they would be worried about her, but nobody could come to their rescue until morning."We have to go back," Alex yielded. "There’s no way we can make it in this weather. We’ll go back and find shelter in the cave for the night."Helena knew he was right. Then again, she hated the thought of spending the night in the wet and cold cave with no supplies or dry clothes. She knew she would be sick by next morning, but better sick than dead. So she had to agree with Alex to go back. After all, what other choice did they have?

Alex was trying to turn the boat around. All of a sudden, theycrushed into the rocks. The boat rocked violently. Helena lost her balance and found herself in the water. When the initial shock was over, she started fighting for her life. The waves were pulling her under, and she couldn’t breatheSomething hit her on the back, and she screamed. It was a piece ofwood from the boat. She was already tired, so she desperately grabbed hold of it to rest her aching legs and arms. She had to find Alex.Calling out for him, she scanned her surroundings. Partsof the boat were floating around her, but Alex was nowhere to be found. She called out his name again and heard something to her right. Swimming towards there, she saw him floating a few feet away, holding on to a piece of wood from the boat. She got near him and saw he was in worse shape than her. There was blood on his forehead; he must have hit it when the boat crashed into the rocks."We have to make it to the beach," Helena yelled, in order to be heard over the howling of the wind."You go ahead,” Alex said. "I can't make it. I’m too tired already.""I’ll help you," Helena yelled at him, trying to sound reassuring."No!" he yelled back. "You go ahead. You’ll never make it with me."Helena wasn’t listening. She grabbed hold of the piece of wood he was holding on and started kicking her legs towards the beach. She was exhausted and aching all over, but she wasn’t about to give up. I have to help him. I just can’t leave him behind.

She tried as hard as she couldbut didn’t make it far. The wind and the waves were working against her. Her arms were numb, and she could no longer feel the wood beneath her skin. Her grip was weakening, and she’d been kicking for so long, that now her legs barely rippled the water with their movements. Devastated, she realized that the fortune teller had been right… She was going to die.The water felt so cold now, and after it closed over her face, she shut her eyes. Despite her desire to fight, her body could no longer resist the fury of the storm. Her lungs burned fiercely as she sank farther. Dots blurred her vision, but she could see her mother’s figure submerged just beyond arm’s reach. Erin was so beautiful, surrounded by a brilliant light that shone through the darkness. Mommy, Helena inwardly screamed, struggling earnestly to touch her mother’s extended hand…Just as she made contact, the vision gripped her wrist and pulled her upwards. Terror shot through her as she remembered that her mother was dead and not in the sea with her. As her face breached the surface, she inhaled sharply and tried to yank her hand away from whatever had caught her. She fought with a wellspring of strength she didn’t know she had...

Helena's vision and her grandmother's diary

Book Excerpt
Hours later, Helena was lying in bed, thinking of the events of the day. Everything had been fine until Dimitris showed up.“Why does he have to ruin everything?” she wondered out loud. Then again, if she wanted to be honest with herself, she was thrilled to see him back. The moment she heard his voice at the beach, her heartbeat accelerated, and her mouth went dry. No matter how hard she tried to deny her feelings and the way her body responded to his mere presence, the fact remained that she yearned for him the whole evening. She wanted to see his smile, getlost in those captivating eyes of his, and feel his arms holding her close...Helena shivered and clenched her fists. What’s wrong with me? She’d never experienced anything like this before. And now, she had those feelings growing stronger every day. She felt as if she was losing control of her emotions… And all that over him—the person who’d stolen her family’s fortune.Anxiously, she got out of bed and walked out on the balcony. Taking a deep breath, she let her eyes wander over the vastbody of the sea. The dark color of the waters reflected the emotions tormenting her soul. Closing her eyes, she enjoyed the soft caress of the night breeze on her face and body, and the coolness of the tiles on her bare feet. She hugged herself while enticing thoughts whirled around in her mind…images of him holding her in his arms, gluing her to his rock hard body, caressing her back and armsBewildered, she snapped out of it. Trying to shift her thoughts away from him, she thought about Alex. He seemed nice and so much easier to get along with than Dimitris. But even when she was alone with Alex, her intimate thoughts kept on going back to Dimitris. Why was he so upset with her? She knew that Greeks had a strong sense of honor, but Dimitris wasn’t her father or her husband. He had no reason to get so upset over finding her alone with Alex. There was nothing going on, but even if it was, it was none of his business. Or was it? A soft voice kept on whispering in the back of her head. What was going on? Why did she have this feeling she’d done something wrong? What was this overwhelming feeling that in some way she belonged to him? Enough with this nonsense, Helena thought. She was sick and tired of being carried away by her emotions and the strange premonitions she would have from time to time. Her mother used to tell her she’d inherited this giftfrom her grandmother, Eleana, who passed away only a few months after Erin married Angelos. In the short time her mother-in-law spent with them, Erin grew fond of the wise, old lady who helped her overcome her anxiety and fears and blend in with the people on the island. She seemed to know so much about so many things…about life itself, and Erin enjoyed every minute of their endless conversationswhenever Angelos was away on business.According to Erin, Eleana had premonitions about certain people and upcoming events. She seemed to have known about Erin meeting her son and getting married to him, years before it actually happened. And Erin had seen proof of it… Those events were all written down in the old lady’s diary. And there were a lot more things written down in that diary… Things her mother never wanted to talk about. But she would warn Helena from time to time to be careful. After they’d gone to England, she would keep on urging her never to go back to the island.

Helena shivered, thinking of her mother’s face—weak and pale—staring at her with eyes wide open from anxiety, and squeezing her arm desperately, asking her to promise to stay away from Mykonos. She remembered her fainting voice saying: “I made the grave mistake to ignore the warnings once…and paid for it dearly. I would never make that mistake again…”Even though it was summertime, all of a sudden, Helena was freezing. She hastily went back inside, closing the French doors behind her.Absentminded, she turned and glanced at the glass panel of the doors. Oh, my God! Bewildered, she saw her mother’s figure, standing behind her in a long, sparkling white dress…The hairs on the back of Helena’sneck stood up. Mom! She turned abruptly and looked behind her… Nobody was there. I need to grab hold of myself, Helena contemplated, feeling her mouth going dry. My vivid imagination is playing games with me, again. If I go on like this, I’ll end up going crazy…She sat on her bed and closed her eyes, taking a deep breath. Please… she pleaded, not knowing if she was inwardly talking to her mother or anyone else in particular. I need some help…Her eyes flew open as she sensed a cold breeze sweeping rightthrough her. Mystified, she looked at the French doors. They were closed. Turning her head, she took a glimpse of a transparent, female figure dressed in white, standing—or rather floating—in front of the painting on the wall.

Helena blinked, and the vision disappeared into thin air. She tooka sharp intake of breath. What was that? She could swear she sawsomeone. Was that Mom? No, she thought and stared at the painting. Astonished, she realized the figure she’d seen resembled the angel in the painting. Now I know there’s something wrong with me,she thought, worryingly.Feeling all shaken inside, she stood up and hesitantly approached the painting. Standing in front of it, she examined it closely and froze… “How come I didn’t see that before?” she whispered, and bewildered stared at the angel in the painting. It was a portrait of her grandmother, Eleana. Helena was left speechlessStepping back, she sat down on the bed and looked at the picture as if seeing it for the first time. It was unbelievable… Years before she was even born, her grandmother had painted Helena at the age of eight, with the sadness in her eyes from losing her father, and herself—as an angel—watching over Helena from Heaven.“Grandma…” she whispered and sensed a soft breeze like a caresson her cheek. She didn’t care if it was real or not. It felt real, and it made Helena feel wonderful. The bliss spreadinginside her was an unbelievableexperience. She smiled, and as if in a dream, she stood up, walked to the painting and took it off the wall. Going backto her bed, she placed the painting on the bed face down and stared at the brown paper covering the back. Without knowing why, she went to the secretarial desk and took out a letter opener. Then she carefully cut the brown paper on the back of the painting and slowly pulled it away… And there it was…

The secret hidden beneath the Demiris Mansion on the Greek Island of Corfu...

Sparkling diamonds, scarlet rubies, dazzling emeralds, and breathtaking sapphires were only a few of the treasures hidden in the secret room beneath the Demiris Mansion on the Greek Island of Corfu. But there was far more than that...

Read the following excerpt from award-winning, mystery romance bestseller Spellbound in His Arms to find out what else was hidden in that enormous and elegant room with its protective steel walls covered with carved stones, probably to prevent it from looking like a vault:

Excerpt:
Knowing exactly what she needed to do, she took her sandwich and a glass of water and entered the studyin the back of the house. Walking inside, Jackie took a careful look around the beautifully furnished room. The French doors leading to the veranda were locked—she had checked them earlier—and the heavy curtains were drawn shut, giving her privacy from anyone who might be spying on the house. On both sides of the French doors, there were two arch-shaped, stained glass windows with a beautiful flower designed pattern. The study was furnished with a burgundy leather sofa, an oval-shaped table in front of it, and two cream color armchairs on the other side. An enormous desk was placed next to one of the stained glass windows, with a burgundy leather armchair behind it and two smaller ones in front of it.The walls were covered with bookcases filled with endless rows of books and beautiful silver, bronze, and porcelain artifacts. Between two of the bookcases, there was a showcase table made of cherry wood and glass, with a miniature of the mansion and the estate surrounding it sitting on the table. A portrait of an elegant old man dressed in a ship captain’s uniform was hanging on the wall behind the table.Between the sofa and the armchairs, a white marble fireplace dominated the room, with two bronze hounds standing guards on each side. A painting of a stunning teenage girl riding a black stallion was hanging above it. She had shining black hair pulled back in a ponytail, amazing blue eyes, and a breathtaking smile. Jackie noticed that the woods in the background seemed very similar to those surrounding the mansion. The painting was probably done here, and the girl was a member of the Demiris family. She placed the plate with her sandwich and the glass of water on the desk and stood there for a couple of minutes, totally enchanted by the beauty of the girl who seemed vaguely familiar. She looked at the painting troubled. Who is she and where is she now? Was the girl still alive or yet another victim of this family curse, or whatever it was that haunted the heirs of Greek tycoon, Andreas Demiris? The deafening sound of thunder brought her back to reality, and Jackie realized she had to get on with what she had come here for.Following Stephanos’ instructions, she walked over to the fireplace and turned clockwise the head of the hound on the right. The entire fireplace moved back inside the wall, revealing a small entrance to the left.Stepping inside, she felt along the left wall until she found a light switch and turned it on. Thank God! The lights here are working. She carefully descended the narrow steps, leading underneath the house. At the bottom of the stairs, there was a corridor to the right, leading to a steel door.Jackie noticed the touch screen monitor to the right of the door, and she punched in the first combination of numbers. She waited breathlessly until she heard a soft buzzing noise and then punched in the second combination. To her relief, the steel door opened, and bright lights came on, leaving Jackie breathless at the sight of the enormous secret room hidden beneath the mansion. She stepped inside and let her eyes wander around the impressive and elegant room with its protective steel walls covered with carved stones, probably to prevent it from looking like a vault.A mahogany showcase, with four rows of glassed-in shelves, covered the wall opposite to the door. Placed on the shelves, black velvet, display stands were filled with the most exquisite pieces of jewelry Jackie had ever seen… Necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and rings of sparkling diamonds, scarlet rubies, dazzling emeralds, and breathtaking sapphires were dominating the surroundings with theirbrilliance. Jackie was so mesmerized by this impeccable beauty that everything else seemed to fade away. She took a few steps forward on the thick cream color carpet and absentmindedly sunk down on one of the two, semicircular sofas, placed in the middle of the room facing each other. Her eyes rested on an exquisite, crystal vase with gold designs, placed on a round table in the middle of the circle formed by the two sofas. This was almost unreal, far beyond her expectations. Jackie was sure that not even Stephanos knew exactly what was hidden in the secret room underneath the old mansion. He was precise, as always, giving her instructions how to get there and get in. But he had mentioned nothing about the contents of the room, except that she would find in there what she was looking for.Sitting on the sofa, she faced the wall on the left of the door. A desk, with a computer on it and a black leather armchair in front of it, was placed facing the wall. Above the desk, eight, wall-mounted, flat-screen monitors were placed in two rows. Even though the computer screen and the monitors on the wall were black, Jackie could hear a soft, humming noise and could see that the computer was operating. She guessed it was probably a security system, monitoring the mansion and its surroundings.Realizing that her entering the secret room might have been recorded, she shifted uncomfortably. What if the system was connected with a security company or even worse, the police? What if someone was watching her? Well, there is nothing I can do about it now. I might as well go ahead with my assignment and get out of here as soon as possible. She turned to look at the wall behind her. A bookcase was there, with shelves filled with crystal, porcelain, and gold artifacts. The bottom part of the bookcase had three closed cabinets, where Jackie was sure she would find what she had come for.She got up and walked over to the cabinets, opening them one by one and checking their contents. In the first one, she found stacks of black velvet jewelry cases. Opening a few of them, Jackie was dazzled by the exquisite pieces and realized that some of these, if not all of them, had to be priceless. She softly ran her fingers over the precious stones and closed her eyes, imagining beautiful women in evening gowns wearing them. She opened the second cabinet to find that it was filled with piles of stocks and bonds, as well as black velvet cases filled with gold and silver coins that seemed very old. Jackie swallowed hard, realizing that the secret room was hiding a treasure. This whole experience had thrown her off balance. In her entire life, she’d never seen such riches before and probably would never again. This was a once in a lifetime experience…an amazing, intoxicating thrill that made her smile. Finally, she opened the third cabinet... Here we are!

End of the excerpt

I hope you have enjoyed this excerpt of Spellbound in His Arms. But keep in mind that investigative reporter Jackie Alexander did not fly six thousand miles away from home for any those treasures. It was something else—something far more important—that she was looking for in that vault. Read the book to find out what that priceless object was...
