Passion or paycheck?
A long time ago, I sat in my English classroom, a few seats back of the ' smart kids ' ( not that I wasn't smart, I was just too free) I fooled around writing letters to my friends and poetry about the world in which we live in; From a young age I have had absolutely no desire to fit in, leaving school at a ripe age of 14 - moving abroad on my own seek independently at 15, unsure of my next step, but so very sure it wasn't where I'd had already been. I had a dream and heart wild enough to believe in it.
Now it's 10 years on, reflecting on this path I chose with the little fear I held. Why now as I have aged, grown wiser and become more responsible and active towards the chase of my dream; do I hold more fear than ever before. ' maybe ' because now I feel I have a whole lot to lose, we're back then I had everything to gain. This statement is not true, but the perspective I held to have it; was. I am feared now, because I know what it's like to have something I love, I know what it's like to achieve a dream I have worked so very hard for, I know what it's like to crave something more than a daily meal & I also know what's its like to lose it all.
When It's a passion; it's a desire, a want; a need to cradle your memories, with moments of ' I'm glad I did this'; rather than ' I wish i did' Life is too short to live by a paycheck, we all have had to; at one stage, but we also have within us the indestructible power to say ' this is not how my story will end' never will that road be simple, but sweetheart, it will be oh so very worth it.
