A frightfully merry christmas to you all.


Ghost stories are a tradition at Christmas and short ones are sometimes the best.





I quite like scary poems too. Who can forget Poe’s The Raven.


But on a different blog I found a great poem called the Cremation of Sam McGee which brings with it the chill of the Arctic as well as the shivers of ghostly fear.

Winter bliss in the Summertime blues.

So, Good old George Hoblip shared some of his favourite music with me and this came up as his number one all time video.


This is Adam Buxton’s interpretation of Guitar Wolf’s version of Summertime Blues.


Now some of you will be familiar with the Adam Buxton oeuvre, but for those of you who aren’t, he is a media commentator and all round funny chap.


Here he has taken-literally taken-Japanese band Guitar Wolf’s rendition of Eddie Cochran’s classic Summertime Blues and made a video of same.

Slugs? Why bother making them in the first place?

George Hoblip, (who is a Brownie, as if you didn’t know, lol), wanted me to give him some insight into our great British countryside. Of course, we have some of the best Natural History broadcasting in the world via the BBC. And so, as a visitor to our shores/country/world, what better way is there to begin exploring that rich legacy than via the Country Man series with Monty Buggershop-Hooty.

Here then, is Country man #2.
