Hunky Hero - Arranged to Love

by Elizabeth Dunk
Jack Faulkner has one ambition in life – to be the one chosen to take over his father’s media empire. Finally, the opportunity to become appointed heir has arisen, but at that moment he is reunited with the one woman who can change his mind.
Jack is hot and he’s strong and masculine and awesome in bed, but they’re not the real reasons he’s a hunky hero. Jack’s a hunky hero because when he realises he’s treating Maddie wrong, he apologises and attempts to fix things.
Jack’s a hunky hero because when Maddie starts to think badly of herself because of their past, he parks himself on her couch and won’t leave until she believes she has every right to be a sexual being.
Jack’s a hunky hero because when Maddie’s life is facing complete ruin, he drops everything (including his life-long ambition) to rescue her.
Want to know more?
All her life, Madhuri Singh has been sure she’ll make an arranged marriage with an Indian man. But when the opportunity arrives at the same time that a past lover returns to her life,
Maddie finds herself torn between her culture and her desire.
All his life, Jack Faulkner has been obsessed with being the one his father chooses to take over the reins of Faulkner Publications. When it seems it’s finally within his grasp, he finds
himself face to face with the one woman who can make him forget everything.
What will win out—the dreams they’ve always held for their futures, or the passion that even after seven years apart cannot be contained. Will they remain blinded to the truth—that they will only be happy if they can be together?

Hunky Hero - A Man like Mike

What I love about Mike is that he’s so real, exactly like the kind of guy a real woman might meet, and yet he’s so much more. He’s exactly what my heroine needs emotionally, he’s funny, sexy and generous with his time—not to mention he cooks and is good with a baby.
Who wouldn’t want a man like Mike
around? Want to know more:
Corporate professional Eve O’Brien needs a crash course in parenting when her dearest
friend Jacinta and her husband die, naming her sole guardian of their baby son Bailey. As if bright orange goo on her business shirts and terminal exhaustion aren’t enough to deal with, Bailey’s uncle shows up, insisting on being part of his nephew’s life. Roguishly handsome with a devil-may-care attitude, Mike Wilcox is always first with a quip or a flirtatious smile. When he breezily suggests he move in with her temporarily, Eve sees no way to refuse, as the
cottage in which she lives was left to Mike by his late brother.
On the surface, Mike seems like the perfect housemate. He’s a successful chef, so Eve’s diet goes from fast food to five star overnight, and he effortlessly takes on daytime care of his nephew, while working at a local restaurant in the evenings. But he wears muscle- hugging T-shirts and makes the cottage seem like a home, things that appeal to Eve more than she cares to admit.
A lonely, neglected child, Eve has learned to rely only on herself, but having Mike around soon
makes her want to believe things can be different. How can she trust a man who’s lived life by the seat of his pants to stick around for the long haul? But wait there's more:

Hunky Hero - Plotting to Win

What makes Victor Guzman a hunky hero?
Well, first off, he’s the closest to an alpha male I’ve ever got. I don’t do alphas. I don’t care for men who are so insecure with themselves that they must lord their
masculinity over the heroine every five seconds.
*snort*
But on the outside, Victor seems to be an alpha. A man standing next to Tiffani — looking not so friendly with his well-muscled arms crossed in front of his obviously defined chest and a scowl on his face — made a scoffing sound.
“Are you two going to get all girly and friendly now? It’s a waste of time. Once this competition gets going, you two will be at each other’s throats. I don’t know why you bother. We’re not here to make friends. If you are, you should leave now, ’cause you won’t win.”
Felicity eyed him. Why were all the good-looking men such assholes? With his short dark hair, olive skin, and perfectly arched dark eyebrows, the man was fine with a capital F, but his bad attitude was oozing through his tight t-shirt.
Does that not ooze Alpha?
But, really, he’s not. As the Plotting to Win unfolds, Felicity and readers both begin to look at the man under that exterior. And he really is a hunky hero...because...
He helps others, even when he really needs to win this competition. When Felicity stumbles over a writing issue, he explains to her how to fix it, at the risk to himself.
He loves his mother. He needs to win this money to take care of her and even when faced with the toughest decision a son could face while on the set of a reality TV show, he battles with himself. He carries a load of guilt with him everywhere he goes, for things he can’t really
control.
He has a sense of humor and makes Felicity laugh with his flirtatious remarks, playful jibes, and odd character names.
He’s a talented writer and that takes smarts. He’s def giving Felicity a run for her money...or I should say—the 100 grand at stake.
So there you have it: good looks, kindness, loves his mother, has a sense of humor, and is smart too. What more could you ask for? Want to know more?
Reality TV has made stars of dancers, bachelors and singers. Now authors get a turn.
In New York City, seven writers compete for a hundred thousand dollars, a publishing contract with Bright House, and the title of the next bestseller. One is Felicity James. One
is Victor Guzman.
Drama, plagiarism, and trash talk play out to enthralled audiences across the country as all seven contestants compete against each other in a range of heated challenges, with tensions reaching breaking point. As Felicity and Victor start up a show-mance, their relationship burns up the ratings.
Will this sizzling fling escalate into a vicious battle for money and fame, or will these two
authors manage to write their own happy ending? But wait there's more: Author Links:

Hunky Hero - Fish Out Of Water

He's a smokin' hot cold-blooded swimmer whose idea of a first date is to take a girl dancing with the dolphins. He's got family issues, an unusual occupation and a teeny little issue with authority. And a voice that can undo a woman with a few words – it’s deep and dark, like Lucky Strikes and home-baked toffee. Like the most delicious bad boy you ever knew. My mermaid cop Rania meets him when he hydroports by accident into the shower of a woman she's interviewing, on the trail of a friend in trouble. He's naked, but she's trying really hard not to look. Every cop instinct is screaming at her to yell "handsup asshole" but instead she ends up pressed against him, wet and wanting.
Problem is, he’s gorgeous. Of course. But there’s also this mad connection:
As she left, his eyes opened. And even through the disoriented blur, we had a moment. His
eyes widened as they connected with mine and I felt my mouth swing open. I tore my hands away as though burned, but my eyes weren’t being torn anywhere. His were indigo, and their hot stare was like someone waving a searchlight in my face.
And that's the easy bit.
She has a million reasons not to trust him. Except he has these crazy-wild indigo eyes and her cells keep telling her she hasn't got the whole story. Want to know more? Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum meets Splash in a sexy, smart-talking debut about a mermaid in a desert, a city under water, and the secret that no one is supposed
to uncover.
Dirtwater's straight-talking Deputy Sheriff has a lot on her plate: a nicotine addiction that's a serious liability for a mermaid, a solider-of-fortune ex who's hooked on her Mom's brownies, a gorgeous, naked stranger in her shower, and a mysterious dead blonde with a fish tattoo on Main Street.
Oh, and one other thing.
She's scheduled to die on her thirtieth birthday - in three weeks - unless she can 'Change the course of destiny and save the world entire'. Throw in a Mom who's the local Mayor and a Dad who's been locked in the county jail for twelve years, and that's all the trouble she needs without her mermaid roots coming back to haunt her.
Rania's heading home to Aegira for a family wedding but she's starting to have a sinking feeling that's got nothing to do with hydroporting seven miles under the sea and everything to do with some weird connections that seem to be emerging between her, the dead blonde, her Mom's shady past and a ten thousand year old prophesy. Now if she can just steal a corpse, get a crazy Aegirian priest off her case, work out who the hell's trying to kill her and stop sleeping with the fishes, she might be able to unravel the prophesy, the mystery of the missing choirgirls and the secrets hidden in her Mom's past. And maybe even save her own ass while she's at it. But wait there's more: Author Links:

He’s one of Australia’s top criminal law specialists but even though he works like a demon, he makes time on the weekend to volunteer for Legal Aid. He’s dedicated his life to helping those who can’t help themselves. When my heroine, Felicity Carter, reveals her secret and things get nasty, Damon is the only person that stands between her and the utter destruction of everything she holds dear. Hunky Hero - The Secret Diary of Lady Catherine Bexley

By Viveka Portman In an era when marriages were made by your father rather than in heaven, from the books
inception, Lord Joseph Bexley doesn't take the form of your typical romantic hero. Though he’s undoubtedly gentle on the eye, is quick of wit and generous to a fault - he is older than most, and considered a man of utmost propriety and
discipline; two characteristics that would drive any red blooded young woman to distraction.
I had a great deal of fun writing Lord Joseph, I simply didn’t want him to be your standard Regency romantic hero, and he certainly doesn’t disappoint! Many women in regency times
married men older than themselves and I really wanted the differences in attitude and understandings to be the main source of angst between my hero and his heroine. Lord Bexley
insists on treating his young wife like the ‘lady’ she is, but there’s a problem. Catherine doesn’t want to be treated like a ‘lady’ she wants to be treated like a woman instead! It isn’t the worldly Lord corrupting the young innocent wife in this book. No, Catherine Bexley has to use
all her wits to get Lord Joseph to give her what she truly wants. It’s this conflict and the unusual interplay between my characters that I think makes Lord Joseph Bexley a truly unique and fascinating hero.
Want to know more? “I have never seen fit in my life to divulge my secrets in a diary, yet now, after today’s proceedings, I do…”
Lady Catherine Bexley is new to marriage and the marriage bed, but surely there must
be more to it than this? Her husband is proper and perfunctory — treating her with careful respect but leaving her aching for more.
When she witnesses a gentleman disciplining a maid at a house party, the ache explodes into ravenous desire. She finds herself no longer willing to wait for her husband’s stiff and passionless attentions — and soon develops a naughty plan to finally get what she wants. But wait there's more: Author Links:

Hunky Hero - Let Angels Fly

by Noelle Clark
Life can be full of surprises the second time around.
Here's why any woman with blood in her veins would walk on water to have Craig Nelson fall in love with her.
At over six feet tall, this man has the body of a fit thirty year old - yet he's closer to fifty. He is good looking in a rugged kind of way, has a most disarming smile, and has all his own hair and teeth.
But what Abbie, my heroine, loves about Craig, is his compassion for people less fortunate than himself, and his determination to do something practical to help them. For the last ten years, he has devoted his life to educating and training people with skills to enable them to find a job in the hospitality industry - both in the US and now in Cambodia.
He also has a true fondness for the Cambodian people whose poverty is third-world status. He takes the time to learn their culture, their ways, and speaks with the leaders in the families. He treats his Cambodian staff as colleagues, and offers them experience over and above any training course.
Craig also has a great love for the physical world around him, including the antiquities of Angkor Wat, and will stop at nothing to ensure they stay intact and protected for generations to come.
He is warm, affectionate, and his love for Abbie is deep and permanent. He treats her with dignity and respect. Craig is my hunky hero, and I'm so glad to have had the opportunity to tell his story.
Want to know more?
Arriving in Cambodia to volunteer at an orphanage, Abbie finds a warm welcome with the owner of her hotel, the handsome Craig Nelson. Craig is everything her ex-husband wasn’t—warm, compassionate, and a generous humanitarian dedicated to helping the local people. But after raising a family and being devastated by the end of her bad marriage, the last thing Abbie needs is complications. She’s on her own for the first time in many years, and it’s time for her to spread her wings and fly free amid the people and culture that have always fascinated her.
But while exploring the ancient temples of Angkor Wat, Abbie overhears odd noises and sinister conversation that raise her hackles. Turning to the only person she thinks may be able to help—Craig—she realizes she’s witnessed tomb raiders—art thieves stealing frescoes to sell on the black market. Unable to let the pillaging of the beloved temple continue, Abbie goes back to investigate and finds evidence that proves her theory. And in the meantime, she finds herself falling for Craig.
Yet change isn’t easy for either of them. Both carry scars, and neither is ready to let go of the past. When Abbie is attacked in the market place, it’s clear her presence in the temple wasn’t overlooked. When Abbie agrees to help the police stage a sting operation to catch the thieves, things go from bad to worse. And Craig might be powerless to help…

Not snake kebabs again...
Writing a survival story has its challenges, and those who know me, know I’m not one to back away from a challenge. So like a crazy woman and the desperate aspiring author that I was, the only way I knew how to get the real sense of what I was writing about was to actually go out and do it.
So you can imagine my delight when I discovered witchetty grubs in my garden last spring. Much to my teenage son’s combined disgust and awe, I promptly washed the plump creatures with the ugly brown heads and tossed them into a hot frying pan. You know how they say everything tastes like chicken, well once I forced myself to actually eat them, I can confirm that they do taste like chicken, but with a little nutty overtone. It was the tough skin and chewy texture that wasn’t so pleasant.
When I wrote ‘Lost in Kakadu’ I tried everything possible to ensure my descriptions were as real as possible…short of living through a plane crash that is...that scene is purely fiction.
Mackenzie Steel, my hero in ‘Lost in Kakadu’ is a five star chef who is tortured by the limitations of cooking in the jungle he’s crashed into. So I’ve given him a chance to share one of his favourite recipes with you. Sticky date pudding with caramel sauce Pudding
250g seeded dates
1¼ cup boiling water
1 tsp
Bi-Carb soda
1 cup self raising flour
¾ cup firmly packed
brown sugar
60g butter
2 eggs Sauce
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
100g chopped
butter
300 ml cream Method:
1. Put dates, water and soda in a blender, put lid on and let stand for 5 minutes.
2. Add brown sugar and chopped butter and process until dates are roughly chopped
3. Add eggs and flour and mix until just combined.
4. Pour into a greased and lined round tin.
5. Bake for 50-55 minutes in a moderate oven, turning once during cooking
6. Turn onto a plate to serve.
7. To make sauce: Place sugar, butter and cream in a saucepan and stir continually until butter is melted and sauce begins to boil and thicken.
8. To serve: slice a portion of cake, drizzle with caramel sauce and top with vanilla ice
cream.
This is simple and delicious and a sure to be a family favourite.
Enjoy
In my next blog I’ll share the survival beauty tips of Abigail Mulholland (my pretentious leading lady). So keep an eye out for it, you won’t want to miss that one.
'Lost in Kakadu' will be available to purchase by e-book on 1st of August 2013.

THE CALL
I had always dreamed of where I would be when I got the call- you know THE CALL - the one all aspiring author’s wait for, the one that takes months and months, sometimes years to get. The call that changes you from a dreamer to an Oh-My-God-I’m-going-to-be-published screamer. Anyway my call wasn’t even a call. It was an email, an email I just about deleted as another rejection email. I read it three times before I began screaming. Thank goodness I was home alone at the time or my family would’ve started running away from me like I was a crazy woman…my dog did.
So...always check those emails thoroughly as you may have a good one there for a change.
My offer came some three years after I finished writing ‘Lost in Kakadu.’ But it was worth the wait. During this time, I re-wrote it numerous times, edited it a dozen or so times and in its final year of evolution I hired a professional editor to help me polish it. I’m so proud of the finished book and I hope you love my story as much as I do.
“Lost in Kakadu” will be sitting on your shelves or e-reader very soon.
