Hunky Hero Tip #56 BARGAIN BUY

Just agree.
I thought today's tip was appropriate given the craziness at the shops yesterday. Personally I hate shopping. I'm a mission shopper. I go with a list and rarely deviate from the plan. Pity I don't plot out my books with such precision, it'd save me loads of time.
Don't get me wrong - I love a bargain. It's rare for me to buy clothes or shoes where I can't brag about my savings. But yesterday, the crowds were like a swarm of locusts hell bent on annihilating the bargains. It was nuts. The queue's were enormous, customers had a crazy glint in their eyes and the staff looked like the walking dead.
Despite the mayhem, hubby and I had a successful mission. We went for 6 things, got the bargain of the year and went home with 6 things. How's that for the perfect shop?
What kind of shopper are you?
Feel free to spread my words of wisdom, maybe your husband will see it. I pop out my Hunky Hero Tips from time to time. These are subtle and sometimes not so subtle tips that my girlfriends and I make up for the men in our lives ... wine is usually involved.
Did you read last weeks Hunky Hero Tip #25 - something about getting your man to cook for you.
Or how about Hunky Hero Tip #43 - It was a good one too. My advise on gift giving (For that special man in your life).

Hunky Hero Tip #25 COOK UP A STORM

Haha, get your minds out of the gutter, I'm thinking blueberry. Well I laughed. Actually my husband loves to cook, but boy does he make a mess. I think his mission when he cooks, is to use as many pots and pans as he can. Oh, and then there's the herbs and spices. He raids the herb garden and throws everything into the dish without any thought as to whether the flavors will work. I love it though. If my man's going to cook for me then 'I No Complain'.
One of our favorite things to do on a Saturday night, when the kids aren't home is to whip up something special in the kitchen. We cook with the fancy ingredients too: lamb rack, prawns, crab. Yummy. Usually, by the time we actually sit down to eat we've polished off a good bottle of wine and had lots of laughs too.
So... Who's the chef in your house?

Hunky Hero: My Brother-But-One

By T.M. Clark
2 hunky hero’s for the price of 1...
Scott is a typical white Southern-African protective male, tall, dark haired and is pure blue-eyed sex appeal. His muscle honed tight by the work on his ranch, and tanned brown by the African sun. Oh so alpha male. Protector of everything he owns on his private game reserve, including the people who live on his land. Women-shy Scott knows what he is doing in the veld, and can track the smallest brown mouse to the largest elephant.
Trying to keep abreast of a changing political climate, Scott tries hard not to fall in love with Ashley, but life has another plan for him where his heart is concerned…
Zol is black and beautiful. He is the slightly older, strongest best friend Scott could ever ask for, the
one who walks beside him and doesn’t let him down. Zol has been with the Decker family since before Scott was born, so he considers Scott family… and he will do whatever necessary to protect that family. Rugged and wise beyond his years, Zol’s natural affinity for the African bush has been tested through out his life, his years as a child soldier, his years in the Rhodesia Bush war, and lately, just trying to keep the animals and people on his ranch safe.
Together, these two hunky hero’s fight for the people they love, and for the African animals they try to
keep from annihilation and extinction.
Want to know more?
Scott Decker and Zol Ndhlovu are partners in a private game ranch in Zimbabwe. They have a friendship borne from Africa — a brotherhood that endures the generation gap — and crosses the colour barrier.
Australian Ashley Twine is a thirty-something dynamic achiever and a confident businesswoman. When a gender mix-up secures her a position on a volunteer program in the Hwange National Park, Ashley gets a chance to take stock of her life and reassess her situation. But the chauvinistic Scott — who runs the operation — is adamant she isn’t cut out for the job.
After Ashley witnesses firsthand the devastation left behind by poachers, Scott finds himself torn between wanting to protect Ashley or force her to leave Africa for her own safety…and his sanity. However, nothing can prepare her for being ambushed and held captive by the psychopathic Rodney — an old enemy of Zol’s — from a war fought years ago. But now that their world has been threatened,
circumstances take hold of their lives and begin to shape and change them forever.
Set against a magnificent backdrop of Africa across the decades, T.M. Clark explores and challenges the traditions between the white and black families of rural Africa.

Hunky Hero Tip #43 - PRESENT TENSE

No. No. NO. These are necessities, not gifts. A gift is something I want to cherish. Something that I will remember came from you, and something that you have put a lot of thought into.
Believe me if that beautifully wrapped box contains an iron or a vacuum cleaner then I just may show you what you can do with it. HAHA, I'm only kidding...not.
For me, and I don't know about the rest of you ladies out there, a present doesn't always have to be tangible. I mean a picnic, or fancy dinner, tickets to my favorite band, a weekend away, a holiday to Tuscany... these are presents I'll cherish, even though I can't hand them down to my grandkids one day. I love surprises and getting a gift that my husband has put a lot of thought into is always better. After all with 28 years together, he should know what I like by now.
Actually I am lucky, my hubby did surprise me with a holiday to Tuscany for our 20th anniversary. It was truly magical (I think I'll do a little blog about that next week.) So other than the occasional faux pas he usually gets it right.
How does your hubby rate in the present stakes? I'd love to hear your uppers and downers.

Hunky Hero - Money for Blood

By Darry Fraser
Joseph is still a country boy at heart, though one
with multi millions of dollars now under his belt. Returning to Australis Island trying to find the solace in home, he only sees sadness and strife and he questions the wisdom of his decision. He has compassion and empathy for those closest to him and when he needs something from the woman he has set his sights
on, he is determined to succeed. He doesn’t need the money he’s won – it can’t do much more for him than he’d already done anyway – and she has made it clear
it’s the last thing she wants from him.
He’s generous, he’s strong physically and emotionally, comfortable in himself and in his relationships with others. He has maintained the ‘boy from the bush’ persona which surfaces in the pub, or with his brother, or rescuing damsels in distress. His is a presence which quietly commands attention, and his vulnerability is as attractive as is his handsome
face, his big body and the dark-eyed captivating gaze.
He knows when to retreat, and when to advance and pursue at a later time. He protects those who are loved by him and even those who don’t know they are loved by him. But don’t mess with him.
(Of course he is complete fantasy on his creator’s part, but she is totally in love with him, too)
Want to Know more?
Joseph McInerney returns to his place of birth. He's a self made business man who just happened to win a large amount of money to add to his woes.
There doesn't seem to be an awful lot more to do - he's a little aimless. His sibling's family are all he has left and they're not exactly ... altogether. Money can't seem to help that situation and so he feels
there's nothing to strive for until he sees Cloudy Bannon in the local grocery store, someone from his distant past.
She has built her life here, made it work for her. Unfortunately Cloudy has her own demons to tackle and having anything to do with Joseph would only complicate things even more for her. It just isn't going to work.
Throw in a lively, determined cousin of Cloudy's, spectacular countryside, the need to grow and rise above the difficulties and the discomforts, unexplained deaths and lots of wine and ... well, welcome to Australis Island and Money For Blood.
