Newly released (7/30) is the first in my Sweet Redemption series: Playing With Fire.

A departure from the bittersweet Dangerous Secrets series which centers on more gritty, gut-wrenching themes and is more serious in tone, the Sweet Redemption stories are lighter, sexier, more romantic tales of love and personal discoveries.

Really excited about this one, and can't wait to see what the public makes of it!

I'm working on a few more of this type...no release date for those yet.

The pattern has been about every two months so far (A Tangled Web first released 3/29, Chrysalis 6/1, the latest 7/30), so maybe the next one around 10/1!

Anyway, Playing With Fire is now available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other channels.

So I'm currently working on what looks like the 3rd in the Dangerous Secrets series:

a) Involves IR (bwwm) relationship? Check.
b) Takes place around college? Check.
c) 'Juicy' secret? Check.

I'm not sure if it's a novella or novelette yet (definitely not a full-length novel); it's currently shaping up to look like a novelette, although there is a chance the word count could spill into novella territory depending on how in-depth I go.

Oh, and another thing: I didn't mean to, but the first two in Dangerous Secrets ended up thematically somewhat bug-related, so I made it part of their formatting, and bugs are now another tie-in element to the series (spiders for Book 1, caterpillars/butterflies for Book 2). Which means I have to find another bug--insect or arachnid--to tie to this latest one.
Still a bit early though--it's very much still in its budding stages. But if I keep at it, this latest one will probably be released sometime this month--I should be done writing it by next week.

Two more books in the Sweet Redemption series are also in the works.
One should be ready by the end of September.

Released today is my latest BWWM interracial romance: Trapped.

No, it's not the one I mentioned in my previous post--as usual, while working on one project I'm determined to finish, another poked its head in and snuck past the finish line.
Of course I had to go with the flow, so instead of another Dangerous Secrets installment (which, as I continued writing that particular project, I realized it won't end up being part of that series after all!), I finished a sci-fi novella, one that takes place in a Zombie Apocalypse no less.

Anyway, I've decided to debut it with an introductory price of 99c.
I plan to have it at that price for about 2 days, then raise it to a proper novella price.

This is the first story in what I'm calling my Bite-Sized Romance series.

This one also ended up with more sex than all my previous releases which are all more relationship/romance based. Go figure!

Now to get a Goodreads Librarian to add it here... Scratch that--just realized I can add it myself! :)

I'm also still working on the piece I mentioned a few posts back, the one that was supposed to be the third in the Dangerous Secrets series, but is now looking more like the next in the Bite-Sized Romance series since it has a sci-fi aspect.
Truthfully, I don't know what the heck it is right now--it's still a lump of words I'm not sure how to form.

As for the other followups, next up in Sweet Redemption is Liz's story (Janet's best friend in Playing With Fire), and the next part to Trapped is coming soon.
Chrysalis may or may not get a follow-up since it now has an epilogue...depends on how much time I get--I have all sorts of things in the works!

I mentioned a piece I was working on that looked like it would belong to the Dangerous Secrets series in a previous blog post.

Turns out, although technically new adult since it involves 18-24-year-olds (takes place in college), and despite a secret being involved, it's not quite the flavor of the novel and novella in the Dangerous Secrets series; this new piece is more sweet, less bitter. Lighter.
The secret just isn't all that dangerous.

Anyway, it's called "Leap of Faith," and it's a novelette--about 14000 words. As a result of the size, I am allocating it to the Bite-Sized Romance series (the other book in this series, Trapped, is about 18000 words. Although *NEWS FLASH* extended edition is on the way this month!). Plus, this new work has a sci-fi aspect like Trapped, only this time, telepathy is involved instead of zombies.

I pretty much completed "Leap of Faith" days ago, yet for some reason, I am just sitting on it; I haven't felt the need to make it available right away.
I will release it sometime this month though--by the 10th or so. So look out for it! And, as always, let me know what you think. I love getting reader emails.

I didn't mean to end Trapped the way I did, but it happened! And now I owe you a follow-up--at least, that's what some of you have told me. So before I get too much into my new projects, I've been trying to wrap this one up.
I was hoping to have it done by Christmas, but yeah right. And then I scheduled it for this month, and mentioned it somewhere, so now I feel obligated to stick to it (besides, putting it off longer and longer--not at all ideal for any of us).
So I've been thinking about it, and thinking about it, trying to figure out where to start, what I need to do, what research is required.
Then I opened up the file and glanced at the last part of it, and kept reading and reading, my heart thumping. When I came to the end, I was all excited and like: "but what's next?"
Yes, I know--it's up to me, and last night, I finally sat down and outlined the second part to address questions and issues raised in the first.
I know exactly where it's going (although I did have an idea before), and I even wrote the end of it.
Now for those scenes in between.

Note to all of you who've read it, once the second part is available, I advise re-reading the whole first part--I've added a prologue and more scenes to a few chapters.

I don't have an exact date, but by the end of this month, expect Trapped: Extended Edition to be available.

Finally!

I added a prologue, a few more scenes to the first part, and of course, part two.
Trapped is now double its original length, and available on Amazon, Smashwords and Barnes & Noble (as Trapped: Expanded Edition).

I promised the first wave of folks who bought it (between 9/26/13 and 1/19/14) that I'll let them know how to get the full version for free (through my newsletter), and it will be easy for Amazon and Smashwords customers to simply access the latest version.

I'm not sure what the deal is with Barnes & Noble customers though, and I have deactivated the book on AllRomanceEbooks because I'm not sure what the policies are there either. Once I figure it out, I'll get both the original, abridged version and the expanded version up on those channels (like on Amazon and Smashwords), and let my newsletter folks who bought from B&N or ARe know what to do from there)[UPDATE: Both versions are up on all sites, and customers should have access to latest versions!]. :)

The price for the expanded version will go up once everything is in place, but I am aiming to set the original version perma-free so folks can try before they buy, beyond the usual sample length.

What an interesting deviation this was! In genre and otherwise. Like I've said, it was never my intention to end on a cliffhanger, and I don't want to dedicate so much to an older title like that again (beyond revision/editing).
It took me about a week to write the second part (and other additions), but it still took a lot out of me, and my current market-share is not quite large enough to make it worth my while. All that energy and time should have been spent on a new project, and all the visibility it brings!
I'll try not to make this mistake again--especially for a title I feel so ambivalent about.
I can only hope those who have been waiting for the next part enjoy it! :)

NB: Originally published 3/29/13, A Tangled Web is my fiction debut and the first in the Dangerous Secrets series--a series of unrelated interracial stories highlighting terrible secrets.

The second edition was published 5/30/13 with minor changes and additions, and it is now in its third (Anniversary) edition, published 4/6/14.

The anniversary edition has been significantly modified from the earlier editions.
Sections have been added, cut, and moved from one chapter to another, amongst other changes and revisions (such as the addition of chapter titles and an epilogue).

If you bought an earlier edition from B&N or ARe, the latest edition should be accessible (soon for Amazon).
