 BLURB:
The long-awaited sequel to the bestselling, award-winning King Hall: the revolution is here, but the most dangerous attack may come from within…

The safe, comfortable world of Lily Ruckler and her fellow Mystical Kings and Queens is rocked to the core by the attacks at King Hall. Not only does Lily have to kill the Commoners attacking her people, she also has to assume the mantle of leadership, and bring the surviving Mysticals to King Cave.

It should have been too much, but she is not alone. Ezra becomes her rock, her best friend, the one person who understands. As Pearl and Jack struggle with inconsolable loss, Ezra and Lily work to keep the Mys community safe in their new home, and plan a deadly retaliation.

Their friendship saves them both…but it also draws attention. Whispers. Judgment. It’s not normal for Shifters and Vampires to be friends, and when a horrifying truth is revealed, their relationship morphs from unusual to unspeakable. Lily is good at keeping secrets that could get her killed. Is she willing to risk Ezra’s life as well?

My Review: Reconnected by Bethany Daniel

17908731Reconnected tells the story of Katy and Liam, who got married at a very early age and who were deeply in love. When Liam gets discovered as an actor, Katy feels like she is becoming second priority to his new life and all the beautiful girls who come with it. She leaves him and makes a new life for herself. Little does she know that four years later, Liam would unexpectedly be thrown into her life again and what happens next is nothing short of a fairy tale and every girl’s dream. But in order for her to get to that point, Katy faces some life changing trials which makes her truly appreciate what she and Liam share.

This story line was a very interesting one and has a lot of potential. There were times in the story when the events were predictable and dare I say slightly boring. On the other hand, there were times when I couldn’t put the book down!

All in all, I think this was a great book and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to read a story with a fairy tale ending.

I gave this book four stars. Now, time to read Disconnected!

I received a free copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review.

My Review: Flame Caller by Jon Messenger

Flame Caller is the second installment of the World Aflame series by Jon Messenger.

After reading the first book I could not wait to get my hands on the second one to see how the story unfolded. It was not a disappointment!! I thoroughly enjoyed every second if this novel. It was fast paced and exciting throughout and every spare chance I got – even in between my classes – I was reading it. It was just that good.

The story line I think, develops well from Book 1 and themes and ideas are developed parallel to each other. Messenger artistically pieces together his story, forming multiple layers of his story world without allowing the reader to become confused. This truly is a feat to be commended.

Also in need of commendation is the standard of this young adult novel. Even though the characters are ‘of age’ to indulge in certain things in our society, Messenger keeps the story line clean and even the love story is sweet and innocent, yet believable. This just goes to show the quality of Messenger’s work. A truly commendable series in the making and I anxiously await all the other releases!

Flame Caller receives 5 huge stars from me!

Disclaimer: I received a free e copy of this novel in return for an honest review, and honest is exactly what it is.

My Review – Reality by Dani Hart

17938428

An enthralling story about a young girl who shines even through darkness. Arie always knew she was different but she just never knew how different she really was.

When she feels as though she is left alone in the world, a whole new world opens up itself for her. She discovers who she really is and secrets of her past that currently shape her reality. For better or worse, Arie is thrown into another reality, the one where she truly belongs.

The first book in the Life of Arie Series was well written and author, Dani Hart, created Arie in a believable, yet creative new world. The limits of which I look forward to exploring in book two.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I rate this book five stars.

Reconnected and Disconnected by Bethany Daniel

rccover

Reconnected blurb:

A fast paced love story!

4 years ago Kate Parker was Katy Warren, wife to Hollywood’s newest star, Liam Warren. She thought everything would stay the same even when they were moved into an L.A mansion, but she was wrong, Liam changed.

One night after a particularly crazy party, she threatens to leave if things don’t change, but Liam doesn’t believe her until she’s gone. Katy leaves Liam and Hollywood behind but doesn’t ever officially end their marriage.

And now, Katy is just Kate and she’s living in college dorms with her best friend Krista working towards her psychology degree. As far as she’s concerned Liam is out of sight and out of mind, that is until he shows up on campus getting a tour from the Dean because he’s there filming his latest movie.

Sparks fly, both good and bad, and Katy has to step back and decide if she can handle Liam and his world again, and more importantly, if she can trust him with her heart again.

Disconnected Blurb:

This is the retelling of Reconnected from Liam’s POV.

It CAN be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading Reconnected too to fully understand all characters/story.

A Fast Paced Love Story!

Four years ago Liam Warren was on top of the world. He was a newlywed, he was discovered by Excite Entertainment and finally got to leave that small Nevada town with his new wife and high school sweet heart Katy. But when they moved to L.A, Liam got too caught up in the life. Parties, drinks, girls. All of that at the tip of his fingers and it clouded his mind, his marriage no longer was his priority and he slowly pushed Katy away.

One night, Katy comes home to their home filled with half clothed women and Hollywood’s elite and she tells Liam she is leaving if things don’t get better. He’s so wrapped up in it that he doesn’t believe her, at least not until the next morning when he comes home from filming and finds a note that tears him apart and begins his journey of finding her, and growing up.

Katy and Liam never officially divorce, and 4 years later a movie brings him to Georgia, where a tour on a college campus brings him face to face with Katy again, along with her boyfriend.

Four years apart has changed a lot of things for the both of them, but when it comes down to it, that connection is still there and Liam sets out to show Katy that their love is worth fighting for.

Finding the Right Girl by Violet Duke COVER REVEAL

Finally!! Here’s the released Cover of Finding the Right Girl by Author, Violet Duke!
*DRUMROLL PLEASE!*
TaDaaaaaaaa!!!!

FindingtheRightGirl_Final9-18_rev_JPG

Blurb

Brian Sullivan has been in love twice in his lifetime. He lost his first love to early-onset Huntington’s, and the other to his brother.  And somehow, his heart has managed to heal itself after both. Amazingly, without therapy. That doesn’t mean he hasn’t gotten a bit more cautious, however. Lately, Brian’s been thinking that maybe his brother’s now retired nothing-but-flings rule wasn’t such a bad idea after all. But as the unofficial nice guy poster boy, Brian needs some help with the whole thing. So he looks to the outrageously ‘unique,’ inexplicably enigmatic, provokingly button-pushing Tessa Daniels.

There’s absolutely no way he’s falling in love with this one…right?

Tessa has no idea what she was thinking telling Brian that she was some sort of fling expert. She’s never been flung and she sure as heck doesn’t know where or how to begin flinging a guy like Brian. Tessa blames her temporary lapse in sanity on the can’t-help-but-fall-for-him brain fuzz that hits her whenever she’s around him. Not only does he have her being more herself than she’s ever been in her life, but he’s the only man that seems to have as many demons and skeletons in the closet as she does. What’s more, he’s got her thinking of the one thing she stopped letting herself even hope for years ago.

A happily ever after.

My Review: The Woodlands by Lauren Taylor

20130908-100603.jpg

From the very beginning, Rosa’s life was anything from easy. She lived in one of the Woodlands eight enclosed circular cities where in order to be left alone by the Superiors, you had to conform to everything they told you to do, or suffer the deadly consequences. Rosa always has a hard time since her thinking and ideas were radical. She experiences everything from abandonment, hurt, loss, fear, all mixed together with love.

Author, Lauren Taylor, creates a story world in which the harsh reality of Rosa’s world is highlighted to the extent that the reader could feel for everything she goes through.

I’ll admit that at some points I couldn’t help but tear up. Taylor takes the reader on an emotional journey throughout the book.

I will highly recommend this book to anyone wanting a great read which will keep you up until nearly three in the morning finishing it, like it did for me!

Now, just can’t wait for the sequel! That cliffhanger was something!

My Review – Heartkeeper by B. T. Lyons

Heartkeeper kept my heart!!

Heartkeeper is a cute story about a society which built itself up after having lost everything via the breakdown of society due to technological advances which depleted the earth’s natural resources. This society made covenants with the Guardian Spirits in order to sift through the good people from the bad thus allowing the survivors to live harmoniously with the land. At the tender age of 13, it is mandatory that all children take part in a reaping where they either capture a gold heart, or face the fury of the red and black hearts which will undoubtedly result in their deaths. This system had been working for many years now, but this year is different. See what happens when the evil tricks and cons the good. What will happen to this society? Could they withstand it?

When I read this novel, it was truly one I could not put down. The writing was superb and I enjoyed every bit of it. I think that this book is great for the age bracket it was intended for as it teaches many lessons. We are reminded that good should always triumph over evil and that we should not be wasteful and overuse the earth’s resources. One day they just may run out on us and what will we do? We take everything for granted. This novel is a good eye opener to just how real that possibility may be.

It was a lovely read, and I recommend it highly! Now, I just need to get my hands on Heartbound!
