30 Copies
My novel, “Sometimes We Ran,” just passed a milestone of sorts. It sold 30 copies. It is exciting and scary at the same time.
Exciting, because I didn't expect to sell anything. I went into this novel-writing thing with open eyes. No one knows who I am, and I have never written anything before. Just seeing it on Amazon and other ebook sites would be cool enough ...if it sold anything, even just one copy, I'd be ecstatic. The attempt to write it was a great experience in itself.
Scary, because 30 people I didn't know (Okay 28 people ...my Mom and my sister each bought a copy) had bought it, and were now, I presume reading my words out there somewhere. Is it good? Bad? Horrible? Would they throw their Kindles and Nooks into the nearest river? My mind reeled.
Writing “Sometimes We Ran” was a great experience. Selling 30 copies was a unexpected bonus. It may not have made it a bestseller, but it was 30 (okay 28) more than I though it was going to sell. And it's still out there ...maybe it can make it to 50.:)
