What a delightful surprise! I expected to spend the weekend engrossed in a serious pre-World War !! novel about espionage. It is, but it's so much more. Four of the most famous criminals of the time are brought out of prison to help take down the Triad. But with J. Edgar Hoover at the helm of the project, things get interesting as he plots and schemes to take down his own capable agent. The characters in this story are so believable that I found myself cheering for the genius Ray Karpas and his men while jeering at Hoover and his underhanded antics. The story brought to mind the Rat Pack via Mission Impossible with quantum physics and the supernatural thrown in. There was even a guest appearance by JFK. If you're looking to be thoroughly entertained, read this book.
