Finding Joy in Simplicity

Over the last few days, I have been in Ahmedabad, India, kicking off my tour for The Corridor of Uncertainty. It’s incredible. I’ve already experienced so many touching incidents. One such incident that I know I will remember for the rest of my life actually just occurred yesterday; I wanted to share that beautiful story and the lessons I ultimately took away from it with you.   While I was walking around the city of Ahmedabad with my father, an 18-year old boy named Babu Rajwadi approached us,

Attaining Happiness in a Materialistic Culture

“How can I attain true happiness?” is one of the most popular questions that is constantly asked around the world. This seemingly simple, yet perplexing topic has led to the inundation of self-help books, life coaches, and even “happiness pills.” According to BrainBlogger, the self-improvement industry in the United States alone is worth more than $10bn per year. ABC News further reports that the easiest way to get rich is to publish a self-help book or enter the self-improvement industry.

Wisdom Wednesday: Finding a Place of Belonging

For this week's Wisdom Wednesday, I wanted to share a section from a book I recently read, titled, Managing Oneself by Peter Drucker. The book explains key concepts on how to identify your most useful strengths and weaknesses, on how to work with others, on how to determine your values, and on how to find the ideal workplace where you can make the greatest contributions. I encourage you to read it.   Below is a short excerpt from a segment on finding out where you belong.   Excerpt   "A small

Fast vs. Slow Thinking

What is the most valuable and highest paid work that you will ever do? In my mind, the answer to that question is thinking. Researchers believe an average human processes about 50,000 thoughts per day. Regardless of if you are making a huge decision with major consequences (such as deciding to have children) or if you are making a small decision with minor consequences (such as deciding what to eat for lunch), you must think in order to arrive at a resolution. The thoughts that you have

How to Actually Balance a Serious Side Passion/Hustle

In today’s world, almost everybody has some sort of side passion. It has become known as a side hustle if there is a way to monetize it. I don’t think anybody actually knows where the term “side hustle” originated, but the idea of having one seems to have grown to a point where it has become an unspoken component people must incorporate into their lives to feel balanced and complete. After all, who likes a person who only focuses on a typical career or one narrow area of life?   Let me just give

Wisdom Wednesday: Appreciating Trivial Treasures

We come across so much information on a daily basis...whether it is through listening to the radio, browsing the web, reading a book, or something else, the overload never stops. I believe that we can turn bits and pieces of all that tangled information into useful wisdom. Learning is a lifelong journey. Therefore, every Wednesday, I will be sharing some wisdom that I have acquired over the week due to my writing, reading, or other experiences. I encourage you all to comment in the comment box

Eleven Questions to Reflect on for 2016

Happy new year! I hope you had an incredible time celebrating with family and friends. I know I did. I am beyond excited to get started on some big projects this year.   As 2015 is officially behind us, it is time to live the lives that we secretly wish we had. Through my work, one common thread that I have noticed is that everybody has an ideal, "dream life" in the back of their mind. It is stored so far into the abyss of crowded information we hold though that very few people take the time to
