Writing Method

I have used both the straight-through seat-of-the-pants method and the outline method. I prefer the outline method because it gives me more of a sense of where the plot is going. That, in turn, allows the characters to unfold in connection with the plot.

I focus on the plot first, then go back to character development and finally I fill in needed detail for scenes, background and setting.
