Tia

Love. For some, it can be a pleasurable experience; while for others it can leave a lifetime of hurt and pain. At first, I believed that love was for fools and could leave you with scars that would stay with you until the day you took your last breath. But now, I can gratefully say that my thoughts have completely changed. Now, I’m one of the lucky ones to say that love is wonderful and beautiful.

I looked over at my fiancé and smiled. Charles Robinson is the epitome of perfection. Well, to me anyway. I stared at his smooth, chocolate skin, and his long eyelashes, which covered his deep brown eyes as I watched him sleep. His full lips, which were slightly smiling as I’m sure he’s having a dirty dream about us. I touched his goatee, as a shiver went through me. He was simply beautiful, which made me even more blessed that he was in my life.

He slowly opened his eyes and stared into mine, giving me a huge smile.

“Shouldn’t you be asleep instead of staring at me?” he asked.

“I should, but looking at you is more entertaining.”

“Why is that?”

“Because you’re even sexy while asleep,”

Charles smiled and touched my skin. He slowly caressed my shoulder, going towards my chest.

“I should say the same about you, but you already know that.”

I blushed and leaned toward him. I parted my lips as Charles held me closer, moving his hand toward the small of my back. I moaned as he nibbled on my earlobe, pulling me toward him as I held onto him.

“Can you believe that our friends are married?” I asked as I put my head onto his chest.

“Yeah, finally. Now, it’s our turn, which I cannot wait for.”

“Neither can I. You think we should just elope so we wouldn’t have to wait?” I asked as I kissed his chest.

“As tempting as that sounds, I know you; you would want a wedding.”

“Maybe so, but I just want to be your wife.” I said, kissing his lips.

After we watched our friends Camille and Trevor Williams get married and leave their reception, we decided to go to Charles’ place and spend the rest of the evening together. Being with him never became old. I didn’t care if we stayed in this bed for eternity; just him beside me was the best feeling ever.

“I know we talked about this before, but I went ahead and asked Camille to be our wedding coordinator.”

Charles looked at me, giving me a curious glance.

“Seriously? I don’t know about this, T. I told you when you mentioned it that it wasn’t a good idea.”

“Why not? Cam is our friend, so I don’t see what the big deal is.”

“There are a lot of reasons why I think it’s a bad idea. I’ll give you some. First, the venue.”

“What’s wrong with the venue?”

“You chose The Crystal Ballroom. If I remembered correctly, that was the venue Camille was going to choose for her wedding.”

“Okay, so maybe when I went with her to look at the venue I was impressed. I don’t think Camille would have a fit over it.”

Charles shook his head while propping his elbow up on the bed. He touched my cheek, giving me a tender caress.

“Baby, I just don’t want anything petty to go down between you two. You have known each other since preschool. I’m pretty sure she enjoyed the wedding Trevor surprised her with, but she may have some unsolved issues with the wedding she imagined. I just don’t want you to throw anything in her face regarding it.”

“So you’re saying I should spare my feelings to accommodate Camille? You’re truly delusional if you think that. Besides, Camille is not the jealous type. She will be happy for me and the decisions I made for the wedding. Now, why don’t we move on to another topic?” I said as I went up to Charles’ ear. I gave a little pull with my teeth, causing him to moan.

“What topic would that be?”

“You’ll see.” I said as I pulled myself up. Charles lay on his back as I got on top of him.

“I love this topic already.” he said and smiled.

“I figured you would.” I said, leaning forward to kiss him.

Charles moved his fingertips down my back, giving me a thrilling sensation. He looked at me as I went into his nightstand, pulling out a condom. Although Charles wanted us to stop using them, I told him I rather wait until we say I do before we take that step. Although I love him, I rather for him to be my husband in every form before we go down that road.

I tore off the wrapper, putting it on him as I prepared to slide himself inside of me. I was ready for him and the pleasure I was about to experience, but that thought was slowly fading when the doorbell rang.

“Who is that?” Charles asked.

I shrugged my shoulders as I moved from him. The doorbell rang again as he threw on a shirt and a pair of shorts that were nearby in an armchair. I watched as he went towards the door, wondering who would be ringing his doorbell at 10 at night.

He opened the door, which immediately led me to put a hand over my mouth. I knew who the person was from the countless photos I’ve seen from Charles’ siblings.

This was definitely not going to be good.

Excerpt: Unconditional Love

To get everyone ready for the release of Unconditional Love next week, here is a sneak peek from Jayden's POV. Enjoy :-)

After only getting two hours of sleep, I went back into my suite, showered, changed and headed to Mason’s, a restaurant on campus, to meet up with the fam before going to my sociology class. I knew I should squeeze in some time with them since I’ll be going back to full practice mode soon. Since the season started, the team has been in beast mode, winning 15 in a row; but unfortunately, we recently lost to our rival, Clarkson University, which had Coach Bell completely on edge. If we’re going to the championship, we have to defeat teams like Clarkson to advance, so I know the extra practices we’re about to endure will be tough, but much needed.

I knew some of my teammates would be upset about the extra practices, especially since we all just finished our rounds of late-night practices for the Clarkson game; but I didn’t mind.

Basketball is my life, and I would love to go pro once I’m done with college. If given the chance, I probably would have just gone straight to the NBA after high school, but I knew my mom would have disapproved of the notion. That’s why I tried my hardest to get into a college on a full ride scholarship, which I did at Shaw. Now that my first year is almost over, I’m thinking that getting a degree in political science may not be so bad. I'd taken one class so far in my major, and I’m already learning a lot from it.

I walked into the restaurant, seeing Riana, my cousin, Cheryl Thompson, and Shawn and Marcus Walker sitting at a booth near the window. Even though I would have preferred to meet up at the student lounge since it was closer to the sociology building, I knew that was impossible since Marcus was banned from there for fighting; so of course, we had to meet elsewhere.
“What’s up?” I asked everyone, sitting beside Riana.

“Nothing; just discussing some details for the wedding,” Cheryl piped up, giving a bright smile as Marcus put an arm around her. I still can’t believe those two are engaged.

Considering their pasts, I wouldn’t have thought they would even be in a relationship, but I guess love can change a person’s way of thinking. I wouldn’t know because I’ve never been in love.

“Isn’t it a little soon to be thinking about the wedding? You two just got engaged,” I asked.

“We’re not getting married right now, but we can still talk about it,” Cheryl said.

“You know me, I would have married your cousin as soon as she said yes, but we’re waiting until Cheryl finishes her degree,” Marcus added.

“Even though I’ll be starting medical school, too, but I don’t want him to wait any longer,” she said, giving him a kiss. I watched them as Marcus kissed her neck. He whispered in her ear, and Cheryl bit her lip, trying not to moan. With the way they were acting, I wondered if they realized they were in a public place.

“And you always say we’re the ones who need the room,” Riana teased with a smile.

“Oh hush,” Cheryl replied.

“Leave them alone; besides...” Shawn said, then whispered into Riana’s ear. Whatever he said actually caused her to moan, then she trailed her hand down his chest.

“You four are really starting to annoy me,” I told them.

“Come on, we can’t help it; besides, once you and Britney finally admit your feelings to each other, you two will be doing the same thing,” Shawn said.

I looked toward the door and saw Britney Lewis walk in. I became nervous, realizing that maybe Shawn was right. She and I had been tip-toeing around our feelings since we met in high school. While I tried to hide mine by dating other girls, Britney was more obvious with hers, trying to find any chance to be around me. Although I would love for us to date and even have a relationship, I knew we couldn’t, not with my schedule. Between school and basketball, I wouldn’t have time to be with her, which sucked because I really want to every single day.

She looked beautiful, wearing a floral baby doll dress; her hair was hung loosely around her gorgeous face, while her grayish brown eyes stared directly into mine. I couldn’t help but smile as she gave me one in return.

“Hey,” she greeted.

“Hey.”

We continued to gaze at each other when Marcus sarcastically cleared his throat.

“Are you two going to continue staring at each other or finally admit there’s something there?”

Britney blushed, and I sighed. I really wanted to, but with how my life is, including the guilt I’ve been consumed with for years, I knew I couldn’t. Not now, not ever.

Re-Release of Our Love

Our Love 2 EBOOK UPLOAD

Hi everyone!!! As some of you may know, Our Love was the second book I released almost two years ago. Due to mixed reviews and several changes, I decided to take the book off of major sites. Now, the story will be re-released! The story will be back on major sites once Something Just Ain't Right 2 is released (which will be soon).

For the time being, here is a sample from the story when the main characters, Charlie and Michael, meet for the first time. This chapter is also from Michael's POV.

Once I do receive the word, you all will be the first to know when it's available for purchase. :-)

**************************************************************************************************************

“Why do I bother coming to school?” I asked my friend Chris Matthews as I got out of my BMW 528i.

“Because you have to,” he quipped, hopping out of the passenger seat.

I started walking through the crowded parking lot of Belmont High and looked around at the same faces, wondering if anything would ever change. It’s hard being the most popular guy in school. I’m not being cocky about it; it’s how people have labeled me. As soon as I got here, I was considered the guy everyone liked. I participated in every activity Belmont offered, and I was captain of the football and basketball teams, along with being the student body president. And I still had time to maintain a 4.0 GPA. I’m not trying to brag, but there is also a list going around school, claiming I’m the hottest guy at Belmont. So, I guess I’m living the good life, huh? I am, but it gets old quickly.

As Chris and I walked to the quad, three girls who looked like sophomores came up to us. They wore huge grins on their faces.

“Hi, Michael,” they greeted in unison.

“Hey,” I said.

As I continued walking, the girls started breathing erratically, just because I said hi to them. That's what I had a problem with: It felt like I was a freaking celebrity around here when I was just an average 17-year-old senior.

“I don’t get you, man. Girls are throwing themselves at you, and you don’t even notice,” Chris said.

“I notice. I’m just not interested.”

“Still having issues with Danielle, huh?”

I looked at him and rolled my eyes.

Danielle Peterson is my ex-girlfriend. We'd dated since freshman year and then all of a sudden, this year, she broke up with me. Rumor has it that she’s dating some guy at our rival school, Bridgewall, but it’s not like I really cared. I was going to talk to her about our relationship anyway. It seemed like nothing was the same anymore, because Danielle always thought she should be the center of attention. I hate that in a girl. It’s good to be confident in yourself, but it’s annoying when taken to the extreme. I guess that’s why girls have been throwing themselves at me; the whole school knows about the breakup. Belmont isn't a big school, but word travels fast.

“No, I’m not still on Danielle. I’m glad things are over between us.”

“Really? You and Danielle were the perfect couple. You two had everyone around here wishing they could be like you.”

I laughed and sat down on one of the benches in the center of the quad.

“From now on, Chris, don’t mention her name to me, okay?”

“Who, Danielle?”

I looked at him and sighed. “Real funny.”

As I looked around at how beautiful the day was, I noticed someone I'd never seen walk toward the building. She was gorgeous with long, dark brown hair that fell to the upper part of her back, honey-colored skin, and nice long legs. From the side, I could tell she had a body on her. She turned her head, then looked straight at me. I looked at her with a grin so huge, it showed all my teeth. She gave me a sexy smile and walked into the building.

“Who was that?” Chris asked, curiously.

“I don’t know, but I’m about to find out.”

I got up from the bench and ran into the building. I had to find her, whoever she was. I practically ran into five people in the crowded hallway before I saw her turn the corner toward the principal’s office. I caught up with her just before she opened the door.

“Hello,” I greeted the beautiful girl in front of me.

“Hey. Were you outside a minute ago?”

“Yeah, I was.”

“My, my, you move fast,” she replied in a sexy tone.

“I do when I’m interested in something. Or someone.”

The girl smiled and moved away from the office door.

“Why have I never seen you here?”

“I don’t know. Maybe because I blend in well with the student body,” she said, smiling.

“No way. I would remember every part of you.”

She looked at me and rolled her eyes. “If that was supposed to be a pick-up line, you need to try harder.”

“No, it was not. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to say that. I guess it came out wrong.”

Her expression softened a little after I apologized. I could tell she was feeling me, just like I was feeling her.

“It’s okay. Actually, this is my first day here.”

When she said those words, I realized that I had seen her at football games. She was a cheerleader at Parker.

“Now that you said that, I have seen you around. You were a cheerleader at Parker, weren't you?”

She looked nervous when I mentioned Parker. I guess she would since Belmont and Parker hate each other.

“Correct; head cheerleader to be exact.”

“Michael Collier,” I said, extending my hand to her.

“Charlie Perry,” the beautiful girl replied. She placed her soft hand into mine. The look she gave me made me want to know more about the mystery girl named Charlie.

“Charlie. Nice.”

“Thanks. Usually, people wonder why my parents named me that.”

“It’s different.”

“Yeah.”

“Well, since you’re new here, I could show you around campus if you want.”

“I will keep that in mind.”

The school bell rang, and everyone rushed to get to first period. Fine time for the bell to ring! I looked at Charlie; she smiled and put her hand on the doorknob.

“I'd better go so I can get my schedule.”

“See you around, Charlie.”

“I hope so,” she replied as she went into the office.

I watched her go inside with a longing look. Then, I turned around and walked to class.

Maybe Charlie was the change I’d been looking for.

Excerpt: Something Just Ain't Right 3

SJAR3

Hi everyone! Since SJAR3 will be released on Saturday, I'm sharing a excerpt from the story!

The final book of the series will answer many of the questions that you all are probably wondering about who is the real mastermind behind destroying Hayley and Morgan as well as other twists and turns involving Morgan's dad, the affair he had with Kyle's mother, and the issues with Morgan's mom. But of course, even after Hayley and Morgan endure a lot in their relationship, they will have the HEA that they rightfully deserve, with an extra surprise.

So, here is part of chapter 1 from SJAR3. It's from Morgan's POV.:-)

From the first moment I laid eyes on Hayley Stevens, I knew she was going to be someone special. She instantly drew me in from her captivating brown eyes to her beautiful curls. I knew she was going to be the one. I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her, have lots of kids, and grow old with her. Even though I couldn’t be with her at first, I knew eventually we would; that’s why I changed my ways for her.

Now, as I stared at her laying on the hospital bed, I had to wonder if she would wake up. I should be optimistic, but it has been almost two weeks since she has been in a coma. She had moved her hand a few times, but her doctor mentioned that was common for coma patients.

She looked as if she was sleeping as the monitor beside her was going at a steady pace. That meant things were okay. If everything was normal, then Hales would had woke up.  I slightly touched her shoulder, hoping she would feel my touch. After what happened that day of the shooting, I completely shut myself down from everything and everyone. I felt as if I had failed her by not being able to protect her. This was my damn fault that she’s laying in a hospital bed. If she hadn't gotten involved with me, then she would have been sitting in her dorm room at Thompson instead of fighting for her life.

The door opened, causing me to turn around. Lamar stood behind me and sighed.

“I went by the guest house and got you some clothes. I knew you might need them.”

I sighed and turned back to stare at Hayley. “Thanks.”

“If you want, I can stay with Hales while you clean up and get some rest.”

“I’m fine.”

“Mo, you’ve been here nonstop for the past two weeks now. I’m pretty sure you’re tired.”

“I said I’m fine.” I replied in a hostile tone.

“I understand how you feel; that’s my sister, but I know she wouldn’t want me or you not taking care of ourselves. You know how Hales is.”

I smiled as I touched her shoulder again. “I know. She probably would tell me to go take a damn shower.”

Lamar laughed. “Yeah, which she wouldn’t be too wrong about.”

I looked at him and rolled my eyes. “Whatever, man.”

“Your mom is here, Morgan. She’s staying with my parents at the Hilton. She wanted to see you, but didn’t think coming to the hospital was a good idea.”

“Why? Travis, Will, and Caroline are all in jail where they belong; so there aren’t any more threats against us.”

“I know, but your mom feel there might be more.”

I shook my head and sighed. “I wish Craig would leave us alone. The man is dead and he’s still making our damn lives miserable.”

“Mo, go. If anything happens, I’ll call you.”

I got up and bend down to kiss Hayley on the forehead. Lamar’s right; Hayley wouldn’t want me hovering over her; instead, she would want me to have my normal routine. And I did need to take a shower.

“Promise me you will.”

“I promise.”

I sighed and grabbed my coat and duffle bag. Lamar handed me his car keys and I went to the door. I know I will come back as soon as I get myself together. But I needed to visit my mom. Hopefully there weren’t any more bystanders lurking around, because once I know Hales will be okay, I want to go back to my normal life.

***

Once I arrived to the house, instead of going to the guest house, I went to the main one to shower. I knew Uncle Rick would be at work, so I would be alone. As soon as I opened the door, I quickly went to defense mode when I saw someone coming from the hallway. I was about to knock the person out when I realized it was my mom.

“Morgan!”

“Mom!”

I went to her and gave her a hug. She wrapped her arms around me and sighed.

“I’m so sorry for everything.”

I closed my eyes, knowing it wasn’t my mom’s fault for what happened. She was just with the wrong man.

“It’s not your fault, Mom.”

She pulled away from me and sighed. “I know Hayley hasn’t woke up yet.”

“No, but you know Hales, she’s a fighter. She’s not going to give up just yet.”

“I know, son. Her parents are heading back to the hospital so they dropped me off here. I still had a key, luckily, it still works.”

“Uncle Rick never changed the locks. He probably will now since what happened through.”

“I’m sure.”

“I know I shouldn’t ask this right now, but you mentioned during our last conversation that they’re more people that could be gunning for me. You even mentioned that to Lamar. Are there more people out there that know Craig is dead?”

“Morgan…”

“I need to know, Mom! For the past two months, I have been looking behind my back, wondering if anything was going to happen, which it did! Now, the woman that I love is fighting for her life because of my fucked up life! I can’t keep continuing to live like this. If there are more family members, friends, bystanders, whatever, I need to know.”

“For what!? So you could kill them too?”

“If I have to, especially if they try to get to me first.”

“Morgan…”

“Just tell me! It’s not that hard to tell me if there are others!”

“There could be; Craig still does have family members from all over, so there could be a possibility that someone could retaliate; especially since Travis and Caroline are heading to prison.”

“Why you didn’t tell me that Caroline was Craig’s sister?”

“I could only tell you in bits and pieces.”

“Yeah, which I had to guess. You knew I was staying in the same house as someone who was trying to kill me! You could had told me so I knew what I was dealing with.”

“I know, but I couldn’t give out too much information about what was happening.”

I laughed. “And Kyle, where does he fit in all of this? You said he had something to do with this.”

“Kyle doesn’t, but his mom might.”

“What?”

“Kyle’s mom had an issue with me because of your father. She may have been involved with Travis at one point, but I’m not sure if it was romantically or to destroy me.”

I shook my head. “I’m assuming Kyle doesn’t know.”

“That I’m aware of.”

“This is all bullshit! It would had been nice if you would had sat down and told me all of this!”

“I gave you my reasons.”

“Technically, you didn’t, but I don’t have time to go back and forth with you. I have to shower and go back to the hospital.”

My mom stared at me as I went upstairs. I closed the door to the guest room, wondering how much more is my mom not telling me. I know I shouldn’t think like that, but she withheld a lot of information from me regarding Caroline. This only made me think if I should trust my mom again.

***

After taking a long shower, I was getting dressed, wondering how Hayley was doing. I'm still not going back on my word about destroying anyone else who will come in my path. Whether Hayley survives, I had to do something I knew I would regret later, but I needed to do it for her sake.

There was one thing that I was concerned about and that was if anyone exposed me for killing Craig. I wondered would my past catch up with me and I’ll be going to prison like my so-called family. I tried not to think about it as put on my shoes. My phone started to ring, which made me become fully alert. I went to it and saw that it was Lamar. For some reason, I knew this was the phone call I was waiting on.

“Hey. Is Hayley okay?”
