First saw this video on the news. Too cool. Crows are extremely smart birds!

Snow Day!

So, I spent the morning writing and took a break this afternoon to watch a movie with my hubby. Watched the original Fame movie. Great performances, but slightly disjointed and not well ended. I enjoyed the TV series more. :)
Hope you all had a great day. And yes, like the cat in the picture, I can't wait for spring!

Website Updated

The house is back in order, but my website still insisted it was Christmas. So today, I embarked on that trecherous journey into HTML code and updated my website. (I really don't do HTML code, but I do a mean cut and paste.)
So, it's finally done!
All the news, new covers and such are up on my website. Be sure to stop by and check it out!

Old Christmas Day
I've spent the afternoon packing away all the decorations and taking down the tree. Everything has been vacuumed, swiffered and dusted and I'm exhausted. lol But it does come down quicker than it goes up. :)
The apartment always looks so big and empty once everything has been taken down, but I like it. I haven't gotten much new writing done since Christmas. I think it's mostly because I've still been in vacation mode. Now that the cold of January is settling upon us, it's time for me to get back to work doing what I love--writing books!

Year in Review!
One of the high points of 2011 was that Hubby and I took two trips related to his work. One was only a three and a half hour drive away, but we stayed at a lovely beach cottage and met a lot of wonderful people. The other trip involved a plane ride (the first time we'd been on a plane in more than a decade). This trip was to a city we both were familiar with so it was a lot of fun. Both trips were weekend excursions but we enjoyed them quite a bit.
I even went to my 30th high school reunion. How the heck did that much time go by so fast? I'll never know. It was fun, but strange. I haven't kept in touch with anyone from my high school days. Some people looked exactly the same, while there were others I never would have recognized if they weren't wearing a name tag.
I also reconnected with an old friend this past summer after several years of no contact. It was wonderful to spend time with him and his family. There are no friends like old friends. You have so much history together. He was actually the one who introduced hubby and me, for which I will always be grateful.
Career wise, 2011 was a fabulous year:

That's a total of 7 new ebooks and 6 print books in 2011, including my first book for Carina Press (The Gift of Shayla) and my first historical (Lady's Minstrel, a Quickie for EC).
I'm looking forward to a wonderful 2012. I'd like to find a better balance in my life, get a little healthier and try something new just for the hell of it.
Hope your 2012 has gotten off to a wonderful start and that the year brings you everything good life has to offer!

New Cover for Quinn's Quest

BLURB:
He can give her anything and everything she needs—except a future.
Legacy, Book 4
Kidnapped and held in a crazy doctor's underground laboratory, Bethany Morris only manages to escape because Chrissten, one of her fellow abductees, creates an opportunity—by shifting into a werewolf.
Bethany's desperate for help, but who'll believe her story? The police? That'll just buy her a one-way ticket to a padded room—because here's the kicker: she's discovered she's a half-breed werewolf. Her only hope is to find Chrissten's brother.
Quinn Lawton's long, grinding search for his missing twin has turned up nothing…until Bethany rekindles his hope. Something else catches flame too—her heat cycle and a searing attraction branded with the word mate. Yet with so much blood on his hands, any future he might offer is already tainted beyond redemption.
Desperate for Quinn's touch alone, Bethany has no choice but to take Quinn up on his offer to quell her terrifying need, no strings attached. And hope that as the search for Chrissten intensifies, the battle with their personal demons doesn't destroy their razor-thin chance at forever. [image error]

CAPA Nomination
BLURB: Legacy Found
Legacy, Book 3
Shelley is a killer. Never mind that her "crime" freed her from thirty-five years of brutal captivity—the bounty hunters on her trail don't care. For the first time in her life, she is on her own, free to put the past behind her and explore what it means to be a werewolf.
James Riley is dead tired. After a week untangling legal and financial affairs his brother's death left behind, he's feeling every ounce of his new responsibility as Wolf Creek pack alpha. He's not too tired, though, to notice his sexy waitress is a werewolf—one that strangely doesn't recognize him as one of her own kind.
After his questions rattle her composure and get her fired, Shelley figures the least James can do is drive her to the next town, but he wants more. He wants to take her home. And despite her fear, something inside her is irresistibly drawn to his commanding yet gentle presence.
James is willing to give Shelley all the time she needs to embrace her heritage, her sexuality, and eventually his love. But her past will not be denied...and her secrets demand a price paid in blood.
