Julie Garwood
The Romance world has lost one of the greats. Julie Garwood, renowned for her rich and layered historical romances and contemporary suspense books has passed at the age of 78.
I didn't start reading romance books until I was in my twenties. Mostly, I'd read fiction and historical fiction. It was my love of historical fiction that drove me to pick up a book titled Honor's Splendor in the late 1980s. From there, I discovered other historical romance authors. It was a short path to category romances. It opened up an entirely new world. I was hooked. I was a reader and bookseller for years before I became a writer. And it was Julie Garwood who opened that door for me. And I will forever be grateful.
RIP Julie Garwood. Your legacy will live forever.
