An interview with Liam, soul mate of Terra of the Tweens
An interview with Liam, soul mate of Terra of the Tweens, the protagonist in the highly anticipated new novel, Aware by Sara B. Gauldin!
Who are you?
My name is Liam. I am not really sure what my original last name was. My father was “unknown” and I have been in Foster care, adopting other’s family names for my entire life.
Where do you live?
I live wherever I am sent. I have been living with the Conway Family. It was not an easy transition.
What is your problem in the story?
I have nightmares and clips of memories. Sometimes it seems like I am being watched. Shadows move around me without any source.
Do you have a problem that wasn’t mentioned in the story?
Do you know that feeling people get when they fall in love? You know the one where you just can’t keep your mind off of someone? I have it all the time. But the problem is that the girl only exists in my dreams!
How do you see yourself?
I’m a normal teenaged guy.
How do your friends see you?
I don’t make many friends. I have moved so many times that it hardly seems worthwhile.
Do you have a goal?
Of course. I want to complete high school and find a way to get a place of my won. I may travel a bit. This time I could choose where I want to go. And maybe I can find some answers about these crazy dreams. College would be good too.
What do you want?
I want to have clear answers. I want to know why the things happen in my life the way they do.
What do you believe?
I believe in past lives. Do you think maybe that is what I am remember ?
What makes you happy?
Dreaming of this gorgeous blond whose name I can never remember!
What are you afraid of?
I am afraid of running out of time. I want to do something with my life, but with my luck I don’t know how long I have to try!
What, if anything, haunts you?
I wish I knew!
Are you lucky?
Not at all!
Who is you true love?
A dream. I guess she is to perfect for the real world….

Check out this sneak peek from Aware!
Introducing the Scourge Master!
The distinctive sound of screams echoed down the industrial hall ways. The undulating figure shook with annoyance at the sound of the tortured cries.
“Silence that noise!” he bellowed.
“Yes master, I will quiet the resistant ones,” said the horribly disfigured soul. “Are you sure we cannot simply destroy them, Master?”
“Claw you fool, I can’t destroy them. We can maul and disfigure the once human entities. Corporeal trash is ripe for the taking! We can make them long for an end they can never have, but there is no way to destroy a disembodied entity.” A fresh round of screams echoed through the room.
“And if they don’t see reason Master?” the transparent henchman’s eyes rolled, accentuating their pitch-black appearance as they drifted in their spiritual sockets.
“They will join us, or we’ll contain them. If they’re allowed to roam free, they may try to resist. Not that it would do them any good. I will have no delays. Each human life I take over is one closer to total conversion. This world will be mine!”
“What will you do with it?” asked Claw. His remaining appendages scraped the aging tile floor as he edged toward the door. His master would not tolerate his presence for long.
“I will bring it to darkness. And those guides in the Tweens will not see it coming!” the Master’s voice raised an octave to a shrill wheeze. “They think they are so high and mighty; the ancient guides overlooking all that human purpose and gawking at all that goes on here on Earth. They think they are infallible, but they can’t even recognize the flaw in their design!” The wheezing voice terminated in a maniacal laugh that emulated the effect of nails on a blackboard.
“The fools! They have no idea!” Claw attempted to bolster his master’s sudden improvement in mood. “Why don’t they know we are here taking over their charges again? I thought the guides were constantly connected with the thoughts and feeling of every charge they send to a human life?”
The Master’s jovial tone evaporated as quickly as it had appeared. “You’re the fool, Claw. You scuttle around like you understand all that goes on around you. You’re clueless! I don’t know why I keep you around.”
“My apologies’ Master,” Claw cowered at the admonishment. He did not wish to re-live the torment that had left him with misshapen limbs at his master’s hand. He had earned the name he now claimed as his own.
“Never mind,” the grey ferment of the Master’s skin rippled over the outline of his face, accentuating his lack of mortal features as he spoke. “The guides cannot see us take their charges because they only look at the Earth through human eyes.”
“Right, and humans can’t see an entity without a body normally. Their mind won’t let them perceive the spiritual energy around them.”
“Or even within them for many,” said the Master. “It’s almost too easy! The Guides will never come here. They stay in their comfortable little roost in the Tweens and do the biding of the One. The One; what a joke! Has anyone ever even seen them?” The Master was delighted by the simplicity of his plan.
“Why don’t they look for the charges when they lose contact with them?” asked Claw. “I mean when we take the entities from their bodies and replace them; they must wonder why they can’t keep contact with them.”
“They can’t come here!” said the Master. “That’s the best part. Guides get their energy from the One, not converted from the sun like we do on Earth. If they come here they will be used up within minutes. They are as helpless against us as humans!”
“It makes me wonder about that scrap of a Scourge that dragged in earlier. He was whining about the Conway family. Saying how there were disembodied entities already there trying to fight back and how the family that hadd been taken was keeping the others out of the house.”
“That’s happened before,” the Master admitted. His tone grew more menacing as he reflected on the small resistance. “Some newly displaced corporeals that are still all full of human energy think they have a chance against us. I sent my sons to take care of the situation. They should be back any time.” The twins, known only as The Brazen One and The Hidden One had been gone for over a day. Each of the brackish cretans was the pride of their father. Pure unadulterated evil was their sole purpose for existence. For their father, they were the best of what any Scourge follower could aspire to. The purity of their corruption left no room for that annoying spark of humanity that was so difficult to beat down with some of the corporeal entities that were ripped from their bodies.
“Yes Master,” said Claw. “I am sure they will take care of the Conway situation.”
“Of course they will. See that they report to me as soon as they arrive. I suspect they’ve found some delicious malice to entertain themselves with on the way.”
“Yes Master.” Claw backed toward the door.
“And Claw, silence the resistant ones. Those screams can be their last if they no longer have a mouth or throat to scream with!”
Claw scuttled through the doorway, relieved to have avoided his master’s fury for the moment. As he shuffled down the winding hallway, he could hear his master slamming the doorway in an attempt to block out the sound.
The Master returned to his meditations, but recalling his son’s absence brought unpleasant thoughts to his mind. The followers who had been sent to take the Conway family had been delayed for days. The family should have been an easy target; all that the Scourge entities needed to do was take over one human body at a time until each of the corporeal spirits was removed from the bodies and left adrift on Earth. That was a simple task. Their human eyes could not even see the entities coming for their bodies. How could they prepare against the attack? How could they hope to resist? Yet there were complications. Complications; how could that even happen? Human corporeals had no power over him or his followers.
The cloaked figure drifted in short bursts to rest before a large book that lay open upon his desk. His gray moldering fingers gripped the desk as he hovered before the ancient text. There was no mistake. His control over the followers was absolute.
“Human free will,” his words were forceful as they wheezed through the flesh covered orifice where his mouth belonged. “No, their will is mine!” A shuddering laugh racked through the figure’s extended frame like a dull tremor.

An interview with The Originator, antagonist of the highly anticipated new novel, Aware via Blog Post for Melanie Snitker
An interview with The Originator, antagonist of the highly anticipated new novel, Aware by Sara B. Gauldin!
Who are you?
I am sometimes called The Master of the Scourge, sometimes the Originator. You may have another name for me.
Where do you live?
I regret that I am unable to share that information. I can’t have that Guide, Terra dropping by and causing problems! It is better that she waste her time with underlings. So long as they are after her precious Liam she will stay out of my way!
Are you the hero of your own story?
I have power. That is all that is really important.
What is your problem in the story?
I have goals. Of course I am very motivated. Creating an army of followers is not an easy task. It turns out that humans are flawed. Once you find that common thread, corrupting them and using them to create mayhem in their little world is not so hard. At least it wasn’t until Terra showed up and started causing trouble.
Do you embrace conflict?
I can’t think of anything better. In fact conflict is what gives me my power!
How do your enemies see you?
Terra is my only real obstacle. The rest of the Guides don’t even realize I exist. I am taking over their charges right under their noses and they don’t have a clue!
Do you have a goal?
Spreading evil and corruption through the mortal world. Taking human bodies for an invasion of the Tweens. Total domination.
What do you regret?
I regret the untimely destruction of my son The Brazen One. He was useful. Now he is not.
Has anyone ever failed you?
Brazen, the fool thought he was indestructible.
Has anyone ever betrayed you?
No
How do you envision your future?
The recipient of unlimited evil power, the leader of a new and corrupted Earth and Tweens!

Check out the cover for my new novel, AWARE!
Hello all!
Real life has been abnormally busy since school re-opened in August. I teach second grade when I am not writing books. This year I have a big class, a new classroom and quite a few new programs and policies to learn and integrate with what I already do.
I apologize for my lull in posts, but I have been focusing my efforts on something I know my readers are going to love; Aware! If you loved the first book in the Corporeal Pull series, Alive, then you won’t want to miss this edge of your seat sequel! Aware has something for everybody, action, romance, spiritual dimensions, and more about the existences (because lives would not begin to cover it) of your favorite characters!
If you haven’t read Alive, the first book in the series yet, check it out! It is available on Amazon!
So without further ado, I would like to present the cover art for my new novel! If your curious, the picture does relate to a specific scene in the book, so this is also a bit of a sneak preview!

My 10 Favorite Books of all Time!
I was nominated by Chris White to name my ten favorite books. Anyone who knows me realizes I read a lot. I tried to leave out children’s books. This was a difficult challenge! Here it goes. In no particular order:
Alive: The Corporeal Pull – I am partial to this book because I wrote it. Lets say the novelty has not worn off because I am currently writing its sequel.
To Conspire – Again I wrote it. I’m partial.
The Hobbit – I always liked this Tolkien book a bit better than the Lord of the Rings series, but lets be honest, they all rocked.
Clan of the Cave Bear – Something about a dual culture of primitive man co exiting in ancient times just holds my attention every time.
The Traveler – Yeah, I’m guilty of being a horse fanatic. I’m also a bit of a history buff. The civil war through the eyes of Lee’s horse… yes please!
Harry Potter – Like MnMs- Who can enjoy just one? I always tried to read these books in one sitting, because life might interrupt my fantasy if I slowed down.
To Kill a Mocking Bird _ Great read but why or why did Lee stop after just one amazing book?
The Da Vinci Code- This one kept me on the edge of my seat. The movie was a bit of a disappointment though.
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn – I always identified with the main Character more than with his counter part, Tom. Great adventures with out leaving home. Twain had a great mind to eaves drop on!
The Crucible – Actually a play, but it has a cover so I’m counting it. This retelling of the Salem Which trials speaks of a darker element in humanity and our ability to accept one another and cope with our own insecurities and fears. It points out that even among those who operate under the guise of, mortality an element of danger seeks to use that system for other purposes.
I have read countless other great books written by independent authors like myself in the past year or so. I review many of them on my blog, sebgwrites.wordpress.com. Check them out!

My Review of The Place of Voices by Lauren Lynch
The Place of Voices is a true example of high fantasy. The author has woven vivid descriptions of fantastical but recognizable creatures who meet and interact with the main characters when their lives are at a pivotal and crucial moment. The main characters include a young man named Brendan who had been crippled by polio and his mother’s death, Anna who had lost her parents and home in a fire that nearly killed her, and Tzutz Nik, a Mayan princess facing an arranged marriage. The young people find themselves in a land away from their homes and their times. The world they enter is fluid and provides for their needs as they are asked to sort through their individual battles in this place away from reality.
In the footsteps of The Chronicles of Narnia, this story is rich in symbols of Christianity and allusions to faith and temptation!
This book is a clean read and is appropriate for all readers who enjoy Christian fiction.

Jesse by Rebekah Lyn
Thank you, Sara for hosting me on your blog today. I began the launch of my new release Jessie with two “sneek peek” Teas. They were very successful so I thought it would be fun to talk about them.
Tea parties have become very popular of late. Have you always been interested in tea or did a particular event spark your interest?
My grandmother came from a large family who enjoyed spending time together and my great-aunt Virginia was always the hostess for family reunions. I loved when we would visit her and all of the family would come together. She was always bustling around the kitchen getting food ready or cleaning up and she always seemed so happy doing it. I wanted to be just like her when I grew up.
I’m not sure how or when I first became interested in the tradition of afternoon tea. Maybe it was the memories of family sitting around the table, sipping coffee or maybe it is the nostalgia of a more civilized society coupled with the thrill of entertaining that drew me in. As a child my family went to tea at an old estate in Quebec and I went to High Tea on a couple of Disney cruises, but it wasn’t until four or five years ago that this overwhelming fascination blossomed within me. I subscribed to Tea Time magazine so I could learn more about tea, etiquette, local tea shops, and especially recipes for great tea parties.
When I was brainstorming ideas on how I could connect with readers and promote my books the idea of having tea parties seemed a perfect fit.
How did you go about setting up a Tea? Were you nervous?
My first Tea was held at the home of a friend who has known me since I was a baby, which certainly helped with the nerves factor. I pulled together recipes from my Tea Time magazine and went on a baking binge. I enjoy baking almost as much as writing. If you’ve read any of my books you may have noticed how I often I talk about food.
The day of the tea, I wasn’t sure what to expect or how the group would react. Fortunately the atmosphere was relaxed and I was thrilled to have the chance to talk with people who had never read one of my books, to share with them how that first book came into being and what I hoped to accomplish with it.
After the success of that first tea, I knew I’d found the vehicle to connect with individuals beyond book sales and Tea with the Author is now my signature event.
The tea sounds like it was a great success. Aside from writing do you have any future plans and will tea be a part of them?
Yes they are! The dream I have for my future is moving to the mountains of North Carolina, which I love, and opening my own tea shop and bakery. I would run my tea shop from April to November and spend all winter writing,-bringing together the two things I love most and seems to take me back to those days of watching Aunt Virginia in the kitchen, pouring out her heart to make others happy.
About the Book
The four Cole boys suffer abuse at the hands of an alcoholic father, while largely being left to their own devices by a heartbroken and overworked mother. Their adventures on their island home have become a welcome escape, and one of the only things in life the boys can truly rely on. Jessie, the youngest and a dreamer, becomes enamored with US plans for manned space flight and its race to the moon, stirring his own dreams of one day becoming an astronaut. In a strange twist of fate, it is the space program and the momentum it gains that abruptly brings their beloved island life to an end. The family is forced to move to the city and start anew.
Life in town creates new challenges, financial pressures, news of the Vietnam War and the impending threat of the military draft for Max the eldest of the Cole brothers.
About the Author
Rebekah Lyn is a popular Indie writer with a strong following of loyal readers who enjoy her inspirational novels of Faith, Adventure, and Hope. She is a Christian with a heart for new beginnings, and her desire is to reflect that in each of her books.
Rebekah is a sandal-loving native Floridian, growing up in Titusville, Florida, within sight of the Kennedy Space Center. This was an exciting time to live on the Space Coast, with launches taking place on a regular basis. Growing up, the best place to watch a launch was at the edge of the Indian River, just blocks from Rebekah’s home. Fond memories abound of windows rattling and dogs barking as the big Saturn rockets or the Space Shuttles raced into the heavens. Sonic booms made everyone jump as the astronauts returned from space, and sometimes she could get a glimpse of their return in the skies above her home. She will always be proud of America’s space program.
An eye witness to the Challenger disaster on January 28, 1986, she and her fellow classmates watched with horror as the historic event unfolding before them. This event became a personal and lasting memory.
An active participant in social media, Rebekah enjoys interacting with her readers, particularly at her signature “Tea with the Author” events.
