End of Day is upon us!
Hello everyone. Today, I am thrilled to host author Mae Clair and take part in her cover reveal for End of Day, which I have to say is awesome! The cover for Cusp of Night was great too, and the story didn’t disappoint. I have End of Day on pre-order and can’t wait for it to release. I’ll let Mae tell you all about it …
Release Date: January 15, 2019
Genre: Mystery/Suspense/Supernatural Thriller
Publisher: Kensington Publishing • Lyrical Underground Imprint
BLURB:
The past is never truly buried…
Generations of Jillian Cley’s family have been tasked with a strange duty—tending the burial plot of Gabriel Vane, whose body was the first to be interred in the Hode’s Hill cemetery. Jillian faithfully continues the long-standing tradition—until one October night, Vane’s body is stolen from its resting place. Is it a Halloween prank? Or something more sinister?
As the descendants of those buried in the church yard begin to experience bizarre “accidents,” Jillian tries to uncover the cause. Deeply empathic, she does not make friends easily, or lightly. But to fend off the terror taking over her town, she must join forces with artist Dante DeLuca, whose sensitivity to the spirit world has been both a blessing and a curse. The two soon realize Jillian’s murky family history is entwined in a tragic legacy tracing back to the founding of Hode’s Hill. In order to set matters right, an ancient wrong must be avenged…or Jillian, Dante, and everyone in town will forever be at the mercy of a vengeful spirit.
End of Day can be read as a stand alone novel or as a follow-up to book one of the Hode’s Hill series, Cusp of Night.
End of Day is available for pre-order through this link

My Week in Review and Writing Links
[image error]Hello everyone. Another week is done. I hope those of you who had a three-day weekend last week enjoyed it. It’s been another full and fun-packed week here. We had a large window removed from the lounge wall and got it bricked up. Then it was rendered outside and plastered inside. It’s south facing, so in the summer acted like an oven, and in the winter it whistled and howled in the wind, so loud we couldn’t hear the TV, lol. It meant no lounge for a week, but now we’re all back to normal. It just needs to dry out and get painted. No mishaps on this one! …
The window wasn’t as big as the plastered area; it needed feathering in to the original wall, lols.
After Mae Clair’s post on Monday on Story Empire about copyrighting your work and registering that copyright, I looked into it for myself. While I always place a copyright on my work, I hadn’t thought of registering the book files for proof in case of future dispute. I found a company in the UK and paid a one-off fee of £59 for lifetime and unlimited book registrations with them. It was as easy as anything to get my ten books uploaded and registered, and I now have certificates for them all. I also have a badge for my site, which may or may not deter the poachers. So, a huge thanks for the heads-up, Mae.
Not related to Mae’s advice at all, lols!, the quote this week resonated with me, and I thought the image of the wolf howling at the gargoyle quite fitting for the words. While we have rules and styles and all the rest, author voice is important for a reason, and not all advice is good advice.
Well, that’s it from me for this week. Have a great weekend, everyone

An excellent and informative post and a must-read for all authors …
Hello, SEers! Mae here, tossing out a question about copyright. Do you, or don’t you? We all know that from the moment we create an original work, it belongs to us. Should it stray elsewhere, provi…

My Week in Review and Writing Links
[image error]Hello everyone. Happy Friday! I hope you’ve all had a good week. Here in the UK, we had a bank holiday on Monday, and fiancé and I went to Mount Edgecumbe House and Country Park. What a lovely day, and my scooter made it all so much easier and more enjoyable. Here’s a pic …
Sadly, on Monday evening, I started with a cold, which has plagued me all week. Viruses seem to love attacking the damaged nerves in my residual limb. No worries … I haven’t included a pic of that! lol.
Many of us knew it was coming, and KDP has now announced that Createspace is to be no more. I have been dreading this and really don’t want to have to get into transferring all ten of my books. The move means that prices will have to go up on some of my print books as KDP charges more to print than Createspace, even though, in their own words, they use all the same equipment. Furthermore, instead of getting my royalty payments 30 days after the end of the sales month, I now have to wait until 60 days after the sales month, much like with my ebooks on KDP. I just hope their platform proves easy enough to use, as previously, I’ve known authors have problems with book cover uploads there. I guess I’ll find out when I release my next book. I don’t know about you all, but what with GDPR and having to change to HTTPS and now this with Createspace/KDP, I feel like I’ve had more than enough for a while.
As I’m on a short-story writing jag at the moment, I thought today’s quote was perfect.
Well, that’s it from me today. Have a great weekend, everyone, and here are this week’s links:

[image error]Hello everyone. Happy Friday! I hope you’ve had a good week this week. Once again, I’ve had a fairly eclectic time of it with knitting projects, wedding projects, and writing, as well as making sure I get some reading time in. I’ve also done a bit of Google searching for bamboo weapons, lol. This week’s quote amused the heck out of me, and I found the perfect image to go with it on Pixabay. I love Pixabay!
