RITA FINALIST!!!!

I have really exciting news…  FACING FIRE has been named a RITA finalist in the romantic suspense category.  I am so thrilled and grateful.

When his uncle is brutally murdered, Josiah King knows that business just got personal. His uncle’s ties to the Alliance can mean only one thing: Josiah and his black ops team are targets, along with everyone they love. Primed for vengeance, Josiah is determined to unravel the plot–until long-legged redhead Sutton Dahl becomes a dangerous distraction.

Sutton is very good at uncovering other people’s secrets—and protecting her own. When Josiah bursts into her life she’s torn between pushing him away and asking for his help. Mysterious, strong, and much too sexy, he’s a puzzle she longs to solve, and a temptation she can’t ignore.

Thrown together in the face of Alliance’s most lethal threat, Josiah and Sutton become unlikely partners, fighting for their lives even as the attraction between them flares into real passion. Torn between his team and the woman who means everything to him, Josiah will risk it all to save Sutton, even if that decision is his last.

You can find the book in Walmart and in some grocery stores. You can also find it at Amazon, B&N, Powell’s, iBooks,  Kobo and the HarperCollins website.

PW Review

I just got a great review from Publishers Weekly for UNDER THE WIRE, my next Bad Boys Undercover book. This one totally stands alone, so if you want to try the series this is a good place to jump in.  Check out the review:

under the wire

Dimon’s intense fourth installment of her Bad Boys Undercover series (after Facing Fire) brings readers straight into the dangerous world of the Alliance, a very secret group of former CIA and MI6 agents who undertake covert missions for civilians. When scientist Cara Layne goes missing while on an expedition in Russia’s Ural Mountains, her brother asks Alliance member Reid Armstrong—her exfiancé—to find her. He soon retrieves her, but several of her colleagues are still missing. As Reid, fellow Alliance member Parker Scott, and Cara search for them, the danger increases dramatically, and Reid knows he must focus on the mission, but he keeps being distracted by the realization that he is still in love with Cara. She’s a strong, independent woman who is the perfect match for the emotionally wounded, physically powerful Reid, and the simmering sexual tension between them propels the novel swiftly forward. Dimon has deftly combined sizzling romance with covert operations in a sexy thriller that will leave readers searching her backlist and eagerly anticipating future installments.

Sneak Peek

I’m finishing a book now, but I thought you might like a peek at the last one I finished. It’s GAMES PEOPLE PLAY and it comes out in late December from Avon. A mysterious hero, a determined heroine, a cold case and sexy times. No explosions and no gunfire. It’s a “lite” suspense that’s really more about the characters and their difficult pasts and how they intertwine. Here you go…

She sat there and toyed with her cup. Spun it around between her palms as she watched him. “Why are you here?”

He thought coming up with an excuse but abandoned the idea. Emery didn’t strike him as like the type to buy nonsense. “I realized that when we last met I may have acted a little–”

“Arrogant. Annoying. Dickish.”

She seemed to have those descriptions ready to go. He preferred to use one of his own. “Brusk.”

“Wow, that wasn’t even on my Top Ten List.” She shifted her chair to the right when someone pushed past her on the way to the bathroom. “I like mine better.”

He didn’t doubt that. “I’m not normally one who goes back and re-thinks his actions.”

“Are you one who apologizes?”

She sounded serious, so he gave her an honest answer. “Hardly.”

Sneak Peek

I’m finishing up a book that will come out in late December 2016. It’s romantic suspense, but a much different kind of romantic suspense from what I usually write. No undercover operatives. No international locations. It’s lighter on the actual suspense (fewer explosions and all that). This hero is a lurks-in-the-shadows type. Very powerful and mysterious. He kind of freaks the heroine out when they first meet. Here’s a taste:

levi

She didn’t hear footsteps or see a shadow until the legs of the chair on the other side of the café table screeched against the tile floor and a man sat down across from her. Strike that, not just a man. Not part of the usual stripped tie, navy suit business crowd she waded through each day. This one had a lethal look to him. Dark hair with an even darker sense of danger wrapping around him.

He didn’t smile or frown while his gaze searched her face. Broad shoulders filled out every inch of the jacket of his expensive black suit. Those bright blue eyes matched his tie and provided a shock of color to the whole Tall, Dark and Deadly look he had going on.

He managed to telegraph power without saying a word as a hum of energy pulsed around off him. She fought off a shiver and reached for her spoon. Hardly a weapon but something about this guy made her insides bounce and the blood leave her head, and she had no idea why.
