Well, the traditional casinos are no longer an option for our @puravida_bjj_mma crew. @wesleyandrichard caught crafty gambling shark @white_tyus cheatin’, but took it out on the hapless dealer. You gotta watch the quiet ones. They’re ruthless. This totally ruined @leahnidasmma’s evening. Thankfully, @whoisnellythompson.a was able to use his medical experience to wake the poor guy up, but he murmured something Nelly didn’t understand, so he too #KTFO’d him too. Can’t bring these guys anywhere, especially #Vegas.

You just can’t take @puravida_bjj_mma fighters with you anywhere without some drama. And by drama I mean fighting in public, even at theme parks. Today’s issues came in the Teacups of all places. Shocking to you, maybe, but not to anyone that’s been at a #PuraVida practice. Here, @montelquikjackson counsels young Jamey, @theafrosamurai92 after he said he loved the @ufc complimentary duffel bag in lieu of the backpack. @altontheboman and @javi.coronado_ seem amused, as they might’ve stoked those flames a bit to get this result. Tisk, tisk. Everyone knows the backpacks were da bomb.

Figured we’d try a change of pace in #Vegas and do the highest powered floating you can do outside of a dispensary. Was going great, until it wasn’t. Turns out @herb_stay_low really doesn’t like having his turn in line skipped. Everyone else was good and enjoyed l Fruit Snacks and a Capri Sun after while Herbert gave the dude he jacked smelling salts and did a time out. When we go on #ufc trips, we’d love to bring everybody, but it’s just not logistically possible. It’s also potentially dangerous. You can’t really bring fighters anywhere. Here’s a fantastical look at if we could bring the team to #LasVegas. Here, @schauerben, @combat_klein and @jonastyflok seemingly defaced the Iconic #Vegas sign and @theafrosamurai92 seems to have an issue with it. Can’t bring these guys anywhere. …and so it begins. We’re two Covid tests in, and have already had a memorable trip. Our original opponent’s Visa was denied from the Ukraine, but the UFC found a replacement fight immediately, so we’re on. No weight cut, as it’s vs another 125 but wasn’t time to make weight so it’s at a higher weight. Just happy that we’re still on. Taking care of posters and #Reebok stuff now.

On a day like today, seemed fitting to honor the late great Reese Shaner. Was at #Waukesha #MMA from 2010 to 2015. Picked up a lot of life and sport lessons there. If I had to pick one Reeseism that has stuck with me, it’s “At what cost am I willing to be right?” Seems as if this has been slept on by some folks who could use some Reese in their lives.
