Laura Kelly Robb studied at the University of Toronto and the University of Santiago, Spain. Returning to the U.S., she taught Spanish and began writing short stories, getting coaching at an Iowa Writers Workshop summer session. She has published two mysteries, China Rock (2013) and The Laguna Shores Research Club (2022). A new mystery, Laila and Ray, is due out in 2024.

Sometimes, I re-read my notes on a certain character or on a plot point to try to get back into that space where the story originally came from. Occasionally, it only works to abandon the scene where I'm stuck and go to what I believe will be the next scene or chapter. (less)
