SIMONE CHIERCHINI was born in 1964 and is a son of two Aikido pioneers in Italy.
In 1972 he began to study Aikido with Hiroshi Tada in Rome. When Hiroshi Tada returned to Japan, Simone continued to practice Aikido with Hideki Hosokawa (Rome, 1974-1984) and Yoji Fujimoto (Milan, 1985-1990).
From 1984 to 1990 Simone was Editor-in-Chief of "Aikido", a magazine published by the Italian Aikikai.
In 1990 he edited the Italian version of "Aikido" by Kisshomaru Ueshiba for Edizioni Mediterranee.
In 1996 he moved to Ireland, where he founded and directed the Aikido Organisation of Ireland, an organisation officially recognised by the Aikido World Headquarters (2001).
