Dare I name myself,
speak out artist, shout out
poet, painter, lover,
or romantic?
Am I worthy of the label,
is it worthy of me?
These are umbrellas,
and I think I fear their
shade,
these are shadows
and wouldn’t I miss the
sun?
Am I warrior, peacemaker,
Buddhist or brave? Could I
call myself boring, genius,
or lunatic, three breaths from
straight jacket and padded
walls?
I am nothing,
though I create more
than I destroy, I call myself
nothing, as it stays unshared.
Easy from the mouth rolls
this, nothing, says teeth
to tongue.
I am many things,
though I hover between them,
equator between poles,
craving for sweetness untasted ,
I am bardo.
I am everything,
I am all things simultaneously,
the umbrella and the rain,
the shadow and the light
splintering off, warming
every single thing
it touches.

Mental health is a topic of massive importance, and it needs more awareness. I am on the Autism Spectrum and this podcast we made, Somewhere On The Spectrum is our attempt to spread that awareness and shine a light on Aspergers and ASD in general. This episode was so much fun as we brought in my wife, @sarahlinden and @ashraymondjames lovely girlfriend, @savannarose007 to speak about loving and being in a relationship with someone with ASD. Educate yourself as much as humanly possible on the entire Civil Rights movement, on the Actual history of this country, on why we are where we are today.

For 11 years in a row I have posted a Daily Haiku on Love, never missing a single day. That is over 4,000 haiku without a single day off. Today, is the first day I will miss a day, and it could not be for a better reason. This is #blackouttuesday and this matters more. Black lives matter more. But it’s more than just posting this blackout, we need action. So please:

Life is a garden
of forking paths,
some hedge maze, some
fountain in the center.
There were a million reasons
to abandon hope like a
child unclaimed, to
crumble to the dust
sorrow leaves behind
on the surface of untouched
things, the rooms left
unchanged and frozen in time.
You held me together,
the shrapnel of a soul after
explosion dismantled.
I held you up, when
gravity broke under the force
of tragedy. One reason,
we called this, the one
that kept us clinging.
Give it a year, and
we’ll see,
call it lunacy if we don’t last
a dozen phases of
the moon.
I have lost count of the waxing,
the waning, the crescents
between all that shine.
We’ll chalk up this love
as temporary insanity
that just hasn’t seen fit to end
quite yet.
