An avalanche of love, of support, of light. Moved, humbled,...

An avalanche of love, of support, of light. Moved, humbled, excited, and relieved to see the response to my post about the LGBTQIA community. So many of you poured out love and words of unity, so many of you reached out privately, so many of you shouted into the void. Thank you. Beyond thank you. To those who still argued, said I was not being respectful of people’s right to have a different opinion, I can only offer this thought, from a heartfelt place: I do not feel an obligation to respect an opinion when that opinion is harmful and disrespectful and denies rights to another human being based on the gender of the person they love, the color of their skin, or who they pray to. I do not respect that, nor do I have to. I will still love those who hold it, I will still wish them peace and change of heart, but I will not respect it, or entertain it. To all of you who poured out support, again, thank you. There is light, always, shining in the darkness, I so truly hope you all see, you Are it. You are the light, we are, and my goodness, together we shine.

Text for Tired Eyes:
A garden growing on flesh,
reaching from elbow
to shoulder, curling over
and blossoming on the fringes
of a chest.
Oh to be a bee in those flowers,
to be a raindrop
on those petals.

Yesterday, I posted one of my favorite wedding photos we have taken in our career as wedding photographers with our company @chasersofthelight . Today, I woke to see that after posting that photo of two beautiful humans kissing in celebration, almost 2,000 people chose to unfollow me. This fact quite simply breaks my heart, and while I wish I could say it astounds me, sadly, it does not. I have been, always, a loud and proud and extremely vocal supporter of the LGBTQ community, if you’re new here, know this, if you’ve been following awhile, this should come as absolutely no surprise. Seeing 2,000 people choose to unfollow, to remove themselves from the art, the words I share every single day due to ignorance and intolerance is mind blowing and disappointing, but also, in a way their exodus is such a huge relief. If you don’t see love as love, quite simply, goodbye. You have no business here, there is nothing for you to see in the poetry I write, the photographs I take. It is 2019 and we are still here, dealing with racism, bigotry, homophobia, and hatred, and I have no room for it in my life. This is a darkness I will shine all the light I have chased directly into, and we all should, until it is no more. Until only the memory remains. Let us haunt it out. I posted a photo of two gorgeous men sharing a kiss yesterday and people left, so today, here are 10 more perfect couples in the LGBTQ community doing the same, celebrating their love. To all you who choose to go, the unfollow button is right on my profile, click it and when you’re done, I hope you find peace one day, I hope your ignorance and intolerance is replaced by love and acceptance before it’s too late. Please don’t come back until it is.

Text for Tired Eyes:
Sand dune you,
waiting for a sunrise me,
for light to spill
and give you shadow,
warm up the bits
still holding morning,
holding chill.
I’ll come and soak you
in glow, let our winds
shift you,
change what you were,
show me
how to survive you.

We are here to love, and love, and love is love. Here to pour it...

We are here to love, and love, and love is love. Here to pour it all out and give it all away and wear our hearts on our sleeves. We are here to shout truth into the void, to listen with a smile when it echoes back. We are here to love.

Typewriter Series #2579 by Tyler Knott Gregson
Text for Tired Eyes:
Will I be able to support you,
will I run out of words?
Will the tide of favor ebb away,
will any of this matter, to anyone,
to anywhere? Will I lose this house,
force you into a new bedroom,
under a new roof, will it leak?
Will our legs grow strong if we must walk
to where we must go, will we
eat smaller meals?
Would I warm you by a fire I built,
wood chopped from family land,
for family land is free land, fallen trees
heating four walls, heating us?
Will you love me still, if extra becomes
bare minimum, if necessity erases
the residue of desire?
In some dark room, flame lit and
vignetted, our hands would wrap
around one another, our breath
would rise, a candle would dance
on the walls we’d call home.
Love, would remain.
