Two years ago I asked you to marry me, to let me call you wife....

Two years ago I asked you to marry me, to let me call you wife. Two years ago we sat on driftwood and stared into the sea, eyes glossed with tears, breathless and alive. One month from today, you will walk to me, slow steps though you’ll wish to sprint, I will stand still though I will ache to meet you halfway. In some Scottish rain we will say our words, and I will call you wife, listen as you call me husband. One month from this day, our two year wait will come to a close, but I will never lose that excitement, that urgency, that joy. One month, @sarahlinden , one month. I love you so.

I want to see your face as we round
that corner and the mountains rise
from the sea like teeth of some monster
ocean born and hiding all its lonely life.
I wanna see you breathless atop some tall peak,
tears streaming like rainfall from
the grey blue clouds in your eyes.
I wanna see you slither into sheets
and roll over and back all night,
your face appearing like moon phases
from the blankets you pull tight
to your chin.  I wanna see you soaked
and catching bits of light before you
dry yourself from the shower, city
lights reflecting off pieces of you I
swore I knew, but clearly not well
enough.  I wanna see you, in a million
ways decorated by a million places,
looking back at me like I, however I may be,
am the only thing you wanna be
seeing.
