Do You Like Where You Live?

I do. Most days. We've lived all over the US, and this is our favorite stop on the map, but every place has its quirks. Today the blog tour continues with...

Jane Eyre meets Supernatural.
Alexia’s nightmares become reality: a dead baron, red-eyed wraiths, and forbidden love with a man hunted by these creatures. After an attack close to home, Alexia realizes she cannot keep one foot in her old life and one in this new world. To protect her family she must either be sold into a loveless marriage, or escape with her beloved and risk becoming one of the Soulless.

Dancing Through Life

Who's ready for an embarrassing confession? You love those, right?

But first, a fun fact. I hang out with kids all day. In that process, I learn a few lessons. My daughter loves to dance. She always has. She cracks us up with her mock-ballet performances while belting whatever strange melody is pumping through her brain. I love it. She doesn't care what we think (even at 8 years old), and she's happy. A singing child is a happy one. A dancing child is a happy one.

So have you lost your dance or song?

If you have, let me suggest some therapy. Find yourself a room, an open one. Get out your favorite music. Crank it and belt to your heart's content while moving however you feel. That's right. You might feel stupid for the first two minutes or so, but if you let yourself go, layers of stress and age will melt right off.

My daughter is a genius.

Confession: I can't dance. So how the heck did I get through so many years of musical theater? That's a darn good question. I plastered a HUGE smile to my face and hoped people were looking there rather than at my COMPLETELY wrong footing.
And now on to the blog tour...

Happy Friday!

Evil Vegetables

When my food nemesis is introduced to the world, it not only taints the air, but every food-like substance it comes in contact with.
Cucumbers are the antithesis of all things delicious.
"What!?" you say. "But cucumbers are so innocuous."
Hah! Try unflavoring your salad after cucumbers have swum through the tasty greens. Do you see the second half of the word? CUMBER. Tell me that sends positive vibes. (Eh? You can't!) There can be only one solution for the evil of "cucumbers."

She blogs regularly at PK HREZO: FearlessFiction.

Broken Characters

Some characters a like a train wreck.

Motivate THIS!

Are you happy? I mean, are you truly happy?
Last April I participated in the A-Z Challenge, blogging the whole month about finding happiness. But today I'm not interested in happiness. I'm interested in JOY.
Image courtesy of KoolenteSpecifically, I'm talking joy that comes from hard labor after the day's work is done. Is there anything so satisfying as sitting back, seeing something you've worked to create, and feeling like you did good? Or better yet, that you did great?
How about after ten years of pounding at the same book? I feel like the smithy who's developed all the right muscles from forging several weapons, but one specific masterpiece that required me to lovingly fold the metal again, and again and again to build character, strength, and an enduring legacy. It's been such an amazing journey thus far, and I feel privileged to share the final product with all of you.
What is it you're working on? Do you have any projects you've put your sweat, guts and tears into?
And now on to the blog tour...
