"Mother and Child, Tuam"
I have a new story, "Mother and Child, Tuam" up at my blog. I'm not going to attempt to get it published in some conventional venue; it seemed best to get the story out there right way, while it was still fresh in my mind.

"The Way Business Is Done"
My short story "The Way Business Is Done" has been published in the March 2014 issue (#5) of CCLaP Journal, and tells the based-on-real-life tale of a corrupt Chicago alderman and his scheme to buy votes in city council to deliver a transit monopoly to an equally corrupt local tycoon. My sincere thanks to Jason Pettus and Allegra Pusateri for accepting the story, which is one of my personal favorites.

"The Afternoon Party"
My piece "The Afternoon Party" has been published in the debut issue of Goreyesque, an online journal devoted to works inspired by the great Edward Gorey. My piece was directly inspired by Gorey's delightfully macabre "Thoughtful Alphabet" stories.

"Singing For the Here and Now"
My short story "Singing For the Here and Now" is now online at Anthology of Chicago. This is the first story to be published from my Chicago story collection Where the Marshland Came to Flower.
