Can AgentGPT write a short story?
I have always been interested in artificial intelligence (AI). I remember watching movies like “2001: A Space Odyssey” and “The Terminator” as a child and being fascinated by the idea of machines that could think for themselves. As I got older, I began to learn more about AI and its potential to change the world. I was particularly interested in the ethical implications of AI, such as the potential for bias and discrimination, the impact on privacy and autonomy, and the potential for misuse. I d...

AI in the Headlines
A paper I had the opportunity to co-author was published yesterday in the journal AI & Society.
Abstract
As artificial intelligence (AI) technologies become increasingly prominent in our daily lives, media coverage of the ethical considerations of these technologies has followed suit. Since previous research has shown that media coverage can drive public discourse about novel technologies, studying how the ethical issues of AI are portrayed in the media may lead to greater insight into the...

A Reflection on the Creative Process
This past semester I started a new master’s degree (having previously been in an MBA program) in Science, Technology, and Society. I’m excited about this new master’s degree because it will give me the freedom to pursue personal interests. I took a class this semester called The Ethical, Legal, and Social Implications of Human Enhancement Technologies which focused on some extremely interesting stuff like genetic engineering, cognitive enhancement, and cyborg theory. I wrote a couple of paper...

A Lake of Bays Moment of Zen
A peaceful morning scene near Fox Point on Lake of Bays in Ontario, Canada. Filmed August 2018. Sorry for the vertical video.

The water is clean and crystal clear and relaxing. The neighbors are friendly and kind. Being there is good for the soul.
Lake of...

Lenovo ThinkPad S431 Review
Among Lenovo’s brutalist and utilitarian ThinkPad lineup, popular with businesses or in any field in which an affordable and durable laptop is necessary, one particular ThinkPad stands out—the black sheep of the family that dropped out of engineering school and eventually graduated from design school by the skin of its teeth: the ThinkPad S431. It’s still not quite as stylish as some of Lenovo’s Mac-ripoff IdeaPads, and it still sports some of that red-on-black flair popular with baddies from...
