My songs are often born out of an overflow of emotions or...

My songs are often born out of an overflow of emotions or thoughts that I’ve been thinking about or carrying for a long time. At a certain point it all just gets too much and the songs kind of write themselves. Lately I’ve felt this overflow of uncontrolled emotions and I’ve stayed up countless nights trying to get it out, but I just couldn’t. I couldn’t find words or melodies or the right balance to justify what I felt towards this thing and this person but with music as my way to make sense of things I needed to get it out.

The most beautiful thing about music is that no matter how many years I’ll be doing this, how many hours I will spend on the serious side of it or how many followers I will get, I will always escape back to that feeling, that place, that made me turn to music in the first place. When you hear a song at the right time and it just hits you like a knife. Every word, every note just fit inside your empty chest and it gives you comfort like nothing else can.

So after not being able to put my own words on these ghosts and unspoken words I found it in one of my favourite songwriters instead.
