My Sexy Saturday ~ Our Sexy New Year
Welcome to the 123rd week of My Sexy Saturday.
This week’s theme: Our Sexy New Year
From my NA Contemporary Romance- In My Mother’s Footsteps
The moonlight poured in through the balcony doors and lit his eyes. Christian’s gaze was so intense and my skin alive that when he reached for my skirt, my entire body shuddered. His crooked, closed- mouth smile grew on his face; he knew me well enough to understand how his touches affected me. I was on fire, waiting for more. All the while, he teased me with light strokes near the places where my body called for him, but he never gave in to my needs.
“Please,” I begged.
Christian scrambled off the bed, and I was about to scream at him, but I didn’t need to. With great speed, he took off his clothes and threw them on the closest chair, but not before he pulled some foil packets from his pants pocket and laid them on the nightstand. Christian climbed up next to me, showcasing his glorious body. I had never seen a man fully naked before and had nothing to compare it to, but he looked perfect to me. He had a narrow waist, lean hips, and long, muscular legs. The hard, warm muscles of his smooth, hairless chest, made me want to run my tongue over every centimeter of him. His musky scent was stronger from sweating, and it spurred me on. I reached up and kissed his mouth with a hungry urgency, pulling him onto me as I lay back on the pillows.
There wasn’t an inch of my body that he didn’t sample. “Mmm, you taste so good,” he murmured.
He played my body over and again, and in return, I kissed,
licked, and touched every bit of him that I could reach. It couldn’t have been soon enough before my wanting became a reality.
“Angel, this is going to hurt but it’ll go away and I’ll make you feel good. I promise,” he murmured, with his forehead pressed against mine.

Anela Alborn’s life is a lie. After growing up without the love of a father, her mother reveals his identity. Tragedy strikes and she sets off on an adventure that leads to more than she could ever imagine. Bumping into Christian Sivers distracts her from the real man of her dreams, her father. Will he live up to her dreams? And does she follow in her mother’s footsteps?

~EXCERPT~
The sensation that she was being watched prickled over her skin and she lifted her eyes to find her husband staring at her hungrily from the doorway. “Hey baby, what’s the serious look for?” He asked gruffly, making her belly quiver just by licking his lips.
“Uh, nothing too important. Did you finish up everything you needed to?” Her voice came out breathy and husky with the desire rolling through her veins.
He nodded, and moved further into the room, pushing the door shut behind him. “Lolly looks good, and the hands have everything under control for the next couple of days.”
“That’s good. When should we expect Lolly’s new baby?” she asked, rising from her chair in anticipation. She couldn’t care less about the pregnant mare right now, but this was part of the game of seduction between them. She enjoyed the pursuit. The feeling of his need for her when he pushed her into an intimate situation in an inappropriate place.
“Six more weeks.” His response barely registered as he reached for her and slid his hands up to release her long red hair from its braid, weaving his fingers through the long locks to separate them before fisting his hands in them and pulling her head back to kiss her deeply.
She loved the way he took the kiss from her, not asking, not teasing, just taking what he needed and giving her back what she wanted. It set off explosions in her brain and her core heated quickly. Rubbing against him like a cat, she tugged at his shirt, pulling it free from his belt, and pushing her hands underneath to reach his bare chest. Years of hard ranch work had etched muscles like granite into his body, and she paid homage to each one with a caress or squeeze. At the same time he ran his own hands from her scalp to her ass, stealing squeezes and strokes of his own.
Parting with a gasp for air, she moaned when he nipped her earlobe. “We have to leave in an hour,” she murmured.
“I only need half that,” he growled against her ear, spinning her and pinning her to the top of the desk, her laptop closing with a sharp click.

THE MOUNTAINS, A BLIZARD, AND A SKI RESORT FOR EXQUISITE CHRISTMAS
When romance writers give love stories to the world, we do more than entertain – we share our hope for something better. These imaginative moments of happy-ever-after warm the soul and ripple outward. The world needs more love, and every bit helps.
We hope you enjoy this collection of heartwarming seasonal tales and delicious recipes by twenty-one Bestselling, Award-winning, and Multi-Published Authors from the international Exquisite Quills community: Victoria Adams, Rose Anderson, E. Ayers, Beverley Bateman, Lily Bishop, Barb Caffrey, Helena Fairfax, J.D. Faver, Jennifer Garcia, Romy Gemmell, Vonnie Hughs, Susan Jaymes, Gemma Juliana, Jean Lamb, Lyndi Lamont, Zanna Mackenzie, Janis Susan May, Dee Ann Palmer, Jane Leopold Quinn, Kaye Spencer, and M. S. Spencer.
Happy Holidays!
Thirteen years ago, I completed my first romance novel in a writers workshop in the California mountains. Later, as a Public Health Nurse, I visited pregnant and parenting teens in those same mountains, becoming aware of how eagerly young men awaited the first snowfall because it meant they would have jobs. I’ve also been an avid follower of the winter Olympics, and, trained in emergency medicine, interested in ski patrollers.
With those experiences in mind, it’s no wonder I selected the winter settings I did for my romances— A Night to Remember and Snowfall.
Here’s the opening to A Night to Remember—
It was the worst Christmas Eve Marlee had ever lived through. Providing she did live through it, she thought. People who longed for a white Christmas obviously didn’t expect it to come with a power outage and a blizzard like she was creeping along in in her old Nissan.
Squinting to see, she switched the heat to the front and rear windshields. If she didn’t reach her house soon, the wipers wouldn’t be able to cut through the ice forming there. The snow had thickened and the temperature had dropped in the last thirty minutes.
“You had to have a tree. Going out in a blizzard to get that puny thing in the backseat masquerading as a Christmas tree was moronic,” she scolded herself…
From Snowfall—As a senior ski patroller, Riley’s job is to check the safety of the ski runs.
Now, from her spot on the lift, a flash of red from the corner of her vision drew her gaze upward. A man in ski clothes and helmet stood at the top of the closed double black diamond run named Satan’s Domain, poised as if waiting for a starter to yell “Go!” He mimicked breaking through a gate, pushed hard with his poles, and, knees bent, leaned in to set a blistering competitor’s pace down the fall line.
“Hey, you!” Riley screamed, waving a pole as her anger flared.
Whoever he was, he had no right to be there. He must’ve hopped on the lift while she was handling heat and coffee. He was trespassing, but the resort would be liable if he was injured. She clicked on her radio and called down to security to see if he’d arrived at the bottom in one piece. No answer.
The skier seemed to know what he was doing, but she had to be sure he wasn’t hurt. That extremely difficult piste, or run, hadn’t been groomed…

Happy Holidays!
Every night, as my daddy taught me, I kneeled by my bed and said my prayers. But tonight, I wanted ask for something.
“Now I lay me down to sleep … I pray the Lord my soul to take. Oh, please bring me a mommy. Amen”
“Come on, Frankie. It’s time to go to the park,” my dad yelled from downstairs.
“I’m coming, Dad.”
Wearing my play clothes, a long purple shirt and black leggings, I slid my feet into my shoes and ran down the stairs. I loved the noise it made, like a herd of elephants, as my dad would say, but I always pictured horses.
One last bang rang out, as I jumped off the last step and landed on my two feet. I turned the corner to see my dad at the door with our two Cane Corso dogs, Dante and Beatrice. Dad named them after some epic poem, whatever that was.
Our dogs were special, though. They were blue, well, they looked grey to me, and their hair was short and thick. I loved running my fingers through it, trying to make it stick up. They came from Italy, some sort of mastiff. I didn’t know, really, all I knew was they were big, real big and strong. But we trained them so well that they listened to all of their commands.
Dad always let me hold Dante, and I held the leash loosely in my hand, while he healed on my left. He’d stay there, following my every move until I gave him the “free dog” command. Our walk to the park was quick and when we got there I could tell the grass had been just cut. The strong smell hit my nose. I wasn’t sure if I liked it or not.
“Alright, you all go play, and I’ll be right here on my bench, okay?”
“Yes, Daddy.” I unclicked their leashes and wrapped them around my waist, like belts, and threw the ball for the dogs.
Jennifer Garcia’s love of travel began when she went to the West Coast to visit her father at the age of three. Her home until she was sixteen was a small coastal town near Boston. She currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband, two sons, and two dogs.
Her lifelong love for reading and writing was put aside for many years while she made her way in the world and nurtured her young family. Even though she is older, and life never seems to settle, she’s finding her way. Believing she can do it all, with the help of her family, she worked on her first novel during the late hours of the night while balancing the rest of her life during the day.
Jennifer believes in writing love stories that connect families and touch hearts.

Excerpt from “What Child Is This?”
Please come home for Christmas this year?
I don’t bother replying to my sister’s text. She knows I’m not coming home. I just power off my phone and stuff it back into my jacket. With a tired sigh, I lean back, close my eyes, and find myself doing the one thing I try never to do.
I think about the mess I’ve made of my life.
Ten years ago, I’d been an eighteen-year-old living in Paisley Springs, Tennessee—a tiny, rural town about two hours north of Nashville. Ten years ago, I’d been a popular athlete with dreams of becoming a professional basketball player. Ten years ago, I’d been the golden child of Dr. Benjamin and Olivia Fisher.
Ten years ago, I’d been a boy in love.
I still am.
Life is full of highways, and some are just too long when you’re trying to find your way home. In my case, some forgotten roads completely disappear. Time erases them, to the point that you begin to wonder if they ever really existed in the first place.
But they did. I know they did.
I close my eyes and try to ignore the image that flickers behind my eyelids. In my mind, Emma Hayes is still eighteen years old. With her long red hair and deep green eyes, she’d always looked at me as if I was her dream come true.
And I was, until I ripped those dreams away.
We were together for more than a year, and it had been the happiest time of my life. But being crazy in love makes you do stupid things. Careless things.
And then things happen that you never imagined would happen to you.

Excerpt from “Mistletoe Magic”
“Doing some last-minute shopping?” Ethan asked.
Melanie blinked rapidly before nodding.
“I am,” she replied stiffly. “You?”
He lifted the gold bag, giving it a little shake.
She nodded. “For someone special?”
“For my wife. You?”
“My husb—”
Her reply was cut short when the lights dimmed, and the elevator lurched to a stop.
“Fantastic,” Melanie mumbled.
The emergency lights flickered on, and Ethan pushed the alarm button before grabbing the elevator’s phone. Melanie listened intently as he barked orders to someone before slamming down the receiver.
“The entire block is in the dark,” Ethan grumbled. He removed his jacket before settling himself on the floor.
“What are you doing?”
“Getting comfortable,” Ethan said. “The guy said it might be a while.”
Melanie glanced down at her silk dress.
“I’m not sitting on this dirty floor.”
Ethan shrugged. “Suit yourself.”
Melanie eyed his jacket.
“Speaking of suits, isn’t that Armani?”
“I have no idea which expensive name is stitched on the label.”
She smirked. “But you know it’s expensive.”
“There isn’t a suit in my closet that didn’t cost a fortune. My wife insists upon it.”
“Maybe that’s because your wife has good taste.”
“Maybe that’s because my wife is too hung-up on labels.” Ethan loosened his tie and sighed tiredly. “Just sit down. I hate enclosed spaces, and you’re making me nervous.”
A stubborn Melanie remained on her feet, but the four-inch heels of her favorite boots weren’t the most comfortable, and after a few minutes, she finally relented and removed her coat. It was far less expensive than the dress, after all. She placed it on the floor before slowly sitting down.
“See? Isn’t that better?”
Melanie sighed loudly.
“One of us should probably conserve our cell battery,” Ethan suggested, pulling his phone out of his pocket. “My Blackberry has a full charge, so I don’t mind keeping mine on if you’d like to save yours.”
With a nod, Melanie reached into her bag and turned off her iPhone.
“You don’t want to text someone first?” Ethan asked. “Your husband might worry if you come home late.”
Melanie somehow resisted the urge to laugh.
“No one worries about me,” she said.
A brief look passed between them before they both quickly looked away.
Excerpt from “The Little Drummer Boy”
Rum pum pum pum.
It’s faint, but it’s there. A quiet, rhythmic beat that blends into the night. How this old man heard the sound is beyond me.
“You hear it, don’t you?”
With a nod, I look around, hoping to find the source of the sound. The man points toward the coffee shop’s covered alleyway.
“Back there,” he says.
The carolers begin their rendition of “O Holy Night,” and once again, I hear the “rum pum pum pum” coming from the darkness.
Intrigued, I step away from the old man and walk slowly toward the alley. Each step brings me closer to the beat, until finally, I see a little boy, nestled in the corner. His only light comes from a lantern, and a snare drum rests in his lap. The drum is scarred and the strap is frayed, but it’s obviously his most prized possession.
Probably his only possession.
Does he live here? In this filthy alley? And where are his parents?
“Shall I play for you?”
His voice is just a whisper. His clothes are dirty and ragged, and the faded blue jacket he wears is about three sizes too big.
“I heard you playing,” I tell him, keeping my voice soft and light. The last thing I want to do is scare the kid. “You’re very good. Are you alone?”
He nods.
“Where are your parents?”
His face contorts in pain, and my stomach lurches. He can’t be more than five years old. Maybe six.
“Shall I play for you?” he asks again. A little stronger this time. A little more determined.
Because I don’t know what else to do, I nod. The covered alleyway has thankfully kept most of the snow away, so I find a flattened section of shredded cardboard and sit down. I don’t think about the fact that I’m probably ruining my thousand-dollar suit. I just sit and listen.
The boy’s sticks pound the head of the drum.
Rum pum pum pum.
Rum pum pum pum.
Each rhythmic thump pierces my soul, and when he comes to the end of his song, I reach inside my jacket for my wallet.
“No, sir,” he says softly. “I don’t need your money.”
It’s hard not to laugh. The kid is surrounded by dumpsters and living in a cardboard box. If anyone needs my money, it’s this child.
“What do you need?”
“Just food.”
“I can pay you with food?”
The boy nods vigorously, and I notice his eyes are suddenly a little brighter. The poor guy is probably starving and could definitely use a bath. Dirt cakes his face, but he has the biggest, bluest eyes I’ve ever seen.
“Why don’t you come home with me?” I hear myself say. “My wife loves to cook.”
He shakes his head. “I can’t leave. My mom told me to stay here. I have to stay here.”
“How old are you?”
“I’m six, sir.”
“Do you have a name?”
“My name’s Luke.”
“Well, Luke, my name is Justin Banks, and it’s cold out here. It’s going to keep snowing.”
“Yes, sir,” he whispers, his voice trembling.
“I could take you home with me for a little while. You could take a bath and eat some dinner with us.”
At the mention of a bath, he smiles.
“And then we can try to find your mom and dad.”
The little boy bows his head, and when he looks up at me again, the light in his eyes is long gone.
“My mom told me to stay here.”
I close my eyes in frustration. I can talk a judge and jury into almost anything. Have I really met my match in a six-year-old living in a cardboard box?
Maybe so.
But I have a secret weapon.

Teaser Tuesday ~ Rise of Alpha by Lorenz Font
Today for Teaser Tuesday, a sneak peek at what Lorenz Font has been working on. Coming soon!
Rise of Alpha – 1st book of the Prodian Journey Trilogy
~~EXCERPT~~
“What’s the medical term for your jumping illness?”
I was glad the question came up right away. “It’s called Tourette’s Syndrome.”
“What is that?”
The question plagued me wherever I went, and I had the answer down pat. Explaining it one more time wouldn’t kill me. “The sudden and involuntary tics and vocalizations are byproducts of an abnormal metabolism of my brain’s neurotransmitters.” I shrugged.
“Wow… sounds heavy.”
Yep, it was a big issue for a teenager, something I wouldn’t ever sign up for. “If my involuntary cursing and jerking doesn’t bother you, then I don’t have a problem being your partner. I’m just trying to protect you from a possible heart attack. In my experience, people get nervous being around me.” I leaned against the cushion, feeling good now that I’d gotten her all prepared. If my fever was making me delirious with happiness, then I wouldn’t mind the mercury spiking up a bit more.
“You sound like you’ve been hiding for much too long, Curly.”
It would have sounded better if she used babe or sweetie, but I’d settle for anything. “It comes with the territory, but let’s not talk about me anymore. Why don’t you tell me what you want to do for our photography project?” This was a ploy to get her talking so I could keep listening to her voice.
Shannon’s eyes rolled up to the ceiling. “Um, I like taking pictures of moving subjects rather than portraits. I would love it if you would pose for me. You’re very interesting, Mexican jumping beans and all.” She giggled.
I glared in mock disapproval at her attempt to make light of my situation. “Hell, no. I’m not comfortable in my own skin, let alone with allowing someone to take my picture for everyone to make fun of.”
I stood up, but my legs wobbled. Shannon was quick to get up and place her arm around my waist. Holy smokes, batman. She touched me!
“You’re such a dork! I’m not kidding. Haven’t you checked yourself in the mirror?” she asked, helping me back down onto the sofa.
I felt like a total loser and had no idea what to say. Look at myself in the mirror? I’d been doing that for the last seventeen years and never liked what I saw—blond hair, dull blue eyes, and average build. Interesting was a word I’d never apply to myself.
Freakish, yeah. Right on.

Teaser Tuesday ~ My Mr. Manny by Jennifer Garcia
This week’s #TeaserTuesday is from romance author Jennifer Garcia. She’s just rereleased her books with new covers and they’re back on Amazon!! Today we’ll be featuring My Mr. Manny, a sweet, heartfelt romance with a hunk of a Manny (male nanny).
After getting swept up in nostalgia and losing herself in a quickly progressing romance, her fantasy falls apart. She is left to raise her precious little girl, Lucia, on her own. The demands of Mia’s work schedule and Lucia’s needs increase, and their lives become increasingly hectic. It is soon clear to Mia that she needs help. Luckily, her life-saving cousin saves the day and brings the mother and daughter a male nanny – their new “manny.”
After losing his high-pressure job on Wall Street, Dominic Roberts wants to follow his dreams to have a family. He’s already one fiancée down, and there are no likely prospects for another. In order to find the family he so desperately wants, he finds himself getting into the manny business. Since he is fully qualified to provide childcare and is eager to leave New York City behind, his sister-in-law is able to land him a job in California working for his first client – the beautiful and intriguing Mia Balducci.
Will Lucia like the new man in her mother’s life? Will Mia? And will this new trio discover the happily ever after they all so desperately seek?
“The first thing I saw were his eyes, which were a shade that transcended the most beautiful green things in the world: peacock feathers, limes, and lush leaves. They were small, slanted, and topped with thick dark eyebrows, which added a hint of mystery. His hair was dark black and slicked back. The bone structure of his face was strong, masculine, and angled. I couldn’t stop looking at him.
He cleared his throat and put out his hand. “I’m Dominic.” I grabbed it in a firm shake, and I felt like I could see my future in that instant. Pictures of Dominic and me together in our old age flashed before my eyes. I felt comforted, as if I were wrapped in a warm coat of love. It was an amazing feeling.
After much too long of a handshake, I pulled my hand back and said, “I am so sorry, Dominic. Please excuse my manners.” I waved him in with my right hand, while holding the door open with my left. “Come in. I’m Mia, by the way. Let’s have a seat in the living room to talk.””
Available for purchase on Amazon for Kindle and Paperback.
Jennifer Garcia’s lifelong love for reading and writing was put aside for many years while she made her way in the world and nurtured her young family. Originally from Boston, she currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband, two sons, and two dogs. Jennifer believes in writing love stories that connect families and touch hearts.

TEASER
from Unchained Melody by R.E. Hargrave
10 years ago . . . San Antonio, TX (Lackland Air Force Base)
Classic rock music played in the background. It was loud enough to tamp down the murmurs from patrons sat upon the surrounding stools at the bar and at tables in the room. The familiar tunes were at a low volume, keeping the atmosphere quiet enough to hear the thoughts in my head.
The cheap, watered down booze however, was doing its best to keep the thoughts quiet, too.
Tonight would be my last in San Antonio, Texas, USA. For a while, at least. Tomorrow I was being shipped out from Lackland Air Force Base to Afghanistan, where I would report for my first official assignment since graduating from the flight Academy. After four years of training, I’d earned my wings at long last, and was now going to get my shot at making my dream come true. I was determined to master the wild blue yonder.
In celebration, I’d come down to the Officer’s Club hoping to pick up some pretty little thang and coax her back to . . . well, some place. My room in the barracks had been cleared and the key turned in; but definitely some place where I could get her out of her clothes and onto my joystick.
Don’t judge me.
At dawn I was leaving for war. Who knew how long it might be before I’d enjoy the company of a woman again, if ever. What if I were injured, or shot down and killed? Anything could happen in an instant. Was it so wrong of me to want one last night to capture some memories to relive in the dark days that were coming? My momma didn’t raise no fool; this country boy knew war wasn’t pretty. Since my daddy had raised me to be proud of being an American, I was putting myself into the hands of the government of my own free will.
