2008 Obama voter: won't be stupid twice

Former Obama 2008 Voter: I Refuse to Be That Stupid Twice

by Matt Barber | Washington, DC | LifeNews.com | 10/21/12 4:59 PM

Did you vote for Barack Obama in 2008? A lot of people did - obviously.

What a time. There's still room for improvement, but what a testimony
to just how far we as a nation have come in terms of racial harmony,
tolerance and diversity.

Only decades earlier a man like Barack Obama - a black man - couldn't
even drink from the same water fountain as a white man, let alone
become president of the United States. A hundred years prior to that,
and he may well have been counted another man's property.

On
Nov. 4, 2008, millions gathered at the ballot box to prove, once and
for all, that, in large measure, we as a nation have healed from our
disgraceful, self-inflicted wounds of racial abuse, bias and division.

That we could elect an African-American to lead the free world is indeed a very good thing.

We just happened to elect the wrong African-American.

In life, we sometimes find that the idea of a thing is far better
than the thing itself. As a boy, I once ordered, from a comic book, a
pair of X-ray glasses that promised to allow me to see the bones beneath
my hand (my motives were a bit more ignoble). The two weeks it took for
the glasses to arrive seemed like an eternity.

Once they did arrive, I ripped into the package and put them on,
darting my head to-and-fro. It's difficult to express my level of
disappointment. As I quickly discovered, the glasses merely formed a
halo effect around objects, creating the illusion of transparency. I
felt embarrassed. I got took.

Barack Obama's presidency has been a halo effect. Like I did so many
years ago, in 2008 America fell victim to false advertising. As the past
four years have demonstrated beyond any serious debate, the idea of
President Obama was far better than the reality of President Obama. We
were promised the world. We were promised transparency; but we were sold
an illusion. We got took.

Indeed, during the 2008 campaign, a then-Sen. Barack Obama promised
us that, if elected, we would look back upon the moment he took office
and "tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide
care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment
when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal;
this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and
restored our image as the last, best hope on earth."

That was the idea of President Obama. That was what many good,
well-meaning people voted for. That was the hope offered and the change
promised.

That was not what we got.

A Little Extra - Down syndrome awareness

Jonny headshot color.jpg

A little extra

Barbara Curtis

October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month.

My son Jonathan has a little extra. A little extra enthusiasm,
a little extra innocence, a little extra charm. Oh, and did I mention
an extra chromosome? The one on the 21st pair that inspires so much fear
in parents-to-be.

I suppose at one time I was fearful about Down syndrome. But
in 1992 when they placed the blue-blanketed bundle in my arms and I
could see he looked -- well, just a little different -- I actually felt a
sense of awe. Here will be a challenge -- so many things to learn.

In this culture, for a parent without one to see something
positive in a child with Down syndrome requires a paradigm shift, I
know. But if my counterculture years taught me anything, it was to
question prevailing attitudes. I'd really never liked the dread
surrounding Down syndrome, clouding the horizon for
still-waiting-for-test-results expectant parents.

In years since, I've met many parents whose prenatal diagnosis
was accompanied by pressure to terminate the pregnancy and "try again."
Professionals are quick to point out the burdens of having a child with
trisomy 21 -- possible medical problems, heavier emotional demands, a
child who is "less than."

Which makes it hardly surprising that 90 percent of prenatal diagnoses today end in abortion.

Parents who search to learn more -- as well as those surprised
with a postnatal diagnosis -- must be surprised by the hope they find
when they connect with the real professionals: parents of kids with Down
syndrome. For no matter how devastated they may have been to receive
the news, parents almost invariably come to treasure the gift that
they've received, as in Emily Kingsley's famous essay "Welcome to Holland": So you planned to go to Italy and landed in unexpected
territory. At first you're disappointed. Then you notice the windmills
and the tulips -- beauty you never expected to find. You discover it's
not a bad place after all.

My own son Jonny is a hip and clever guy with a gift for
acting, dancing, humor and making friends. At home or school he is the
first to offer help, to comfort someone who's down and to laugh
uproariously at the punch lines.

For 20 years he's taught me -- and others around him with
hearts willing to learn -- how much more there is to life than
intelligence, beauty and "perfection."

"Jane Roe" - graphic anti-Obama ad

Norma McCorvey, the woman known as Jane Roe - of Roe v. Wade - repented and became an evangelical many years ago. Now she is a Catholic convert. Here she appears in a graphic ad showing the results of abortion, pleading for votes against Obama.

Queen Michelle Obama's vacation count

16 vacations during first 3 years in White House. Only one this election year. If Obama wins, I'm sure she'll make up for it though. (Ironically preceded by Obama ad)

Obama Regime lied about Benghazi

Liars in the White House. Isn't that why Nixon was hounded out of office? And under Obama four people died when he could have told the truth and sent protection.

White House told of militant claim two hours after Libya attack: emails

WASHINGTON |
Tue Oct 23, 2012 9:11pm EDT

(Reuters) - Officials at the White House and State Department were
advised two hours after attackers assaulted the U.S. diplomatic mission
in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11 that an Islamic militant group had
claimed credit for the attack, official emails show.

The emails, obtained by Reuters
from government sources not connected with U.S. spy agencies or the
State Department and who requested anonymity, specifically mention that
the Libyan group called Ansar al-Sharia had asserted responsibility for
the attacks.

The brief emails also show how U.S. diplomats described the attack, even as it was still under way, to Washington.

U.S.
Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans were killed in
the Benghazi assault, which President Barack Obama and other U.S.
officials ultimately acknowledged was a "terrorist" attack carried out
by militants with suspected links to al Qaeda affiliates or
sympathizers.

Administration
spokesmen, including White House spokesman Jay Carney, citing an
unclassified assessment prepared by the CIA, maintained for days that
the attacks likely were a spontaneous protest against an anti-Muslim
film.

Red Carpet for Islamists at White House

A Red Carpet for Radicals at the White House

by Steve Emerson and John Rossomando
IPT News

October 21, 2012

A
year-long investigation by the Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT)
has found that scores of known radical Islamists made hundreds of
visits to the Obama White House, meeting with top administration
officials.

Court documents and other records have identified many of these visitors as belonging to groups serving as fronts for the Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas and other Islamic militant organizations.

The IPT made the discovery combing through millions of White House
visitor log entries. IPT compared the visitors' names with lists of
known radical Islamists. Among the visitors were officials representing
groups which have:

Been designated by the Department of Justice as unindicted
co-conspirators in terrorist trials; Extolled Islamic terrorist groups
including Hamas and Hizballah;Obstructed terrorist investigations by instructing their followers not to cooperate with law enforcement;Promoted the incendiary conspiratorial allegation that the United States is engaged in a "war against Islam"-- a leading tool in recruiting Muslims to carry out acts of terror;Repeatedly claimed that many of the Islamic terrorists convicted
since 9-11 were framed by the U.S government as part of an anti-Muslim
profiling campaign.

Individuals from the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) visited the White House at least 20 times starting in 2009. In 2008, CAIR was listed
as an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terrorist money
laundering case in U.S. history - the trial of the Holy Land Foundation
in which five HLF officials were convicted of funneling money to Hamas.

U.S. District Court Judge Jorge Solis later ruled
that, "The Government has produced ample evidence to establish the
association" of CAIR to Hamas, upholding their designations as
unindicted co-conspirators. In 2008, the FBI formally ended all contact with CAIR because of its ties to Hamas.
