RIDICULOUS!

Right between sensible and fantastical

Ilive my waking life partly in this world of

Darkness and light, but partly

In a realm that’s seen by only those who

Can imagine another way, an

Upside down version of what is

Logistically viewed as “the real world.”

Only in my mind, the reality is inside each of

Us, and I prefer to see the rainbow colors produced by

Sun and clouds – a black and white version is ridiculous.

Whatever You Want….

[image error]Nina climbed aboard the Acela, holding her overnight bag as well as the floral valise the stranger handed her before he took off in a rush. (At the Station)

She didn’t gasp until she sat down and opened the small case.

Why? Why now? Nina wondered as she stared at the photo inside the bag.

The picture of her and Ben kissing outside the Boston Park Plaza nauseated her. She had been more in love with the idea of Ben than of Ben himself.

This photo was a reminder of her bad judgement and worse c...

[image error]Nina stood on one foot, and then the other. The train was three minutes late. She could not afford to miss one second of the project meeting in New York.

Knowing that the regular train sometimes got stuck at some godforsaken station on the way, she purchased a ticket for the more expensive high-speed Acela, which gave her an hour fudge time.

Peering at the watch on her wrist, she figured she now only had 55 minutes of fudge time.

Nina’s mouth started to water. She skipped breakfast to get to...

Have You Met LIFE Today?

[image error]What have you been doing all morning?

Well, um, I’ve been busy.

With what?

I woke up late, I admit. Almost 5:30 a.m. But for the next 15 minutes I stretched my body… and my mind.

What do you mean?

Every morning I meditate and practice my bed yoga poses, but once my brain starts stirring, I stir up trouble. I think of everything I should be doing. What I want to write. If I’ll have time for dance class.  My next writing prompt for my class. How many deviled eggs I should make for Sunday.[image error]

Sto...

What the Wind Blew In

[image error]We’ve been honoring the anniversary of our dog’s passing. Four years ago, Henry let us know it was time for him to go. My guy and I carried him into our vet’s office, which looked more like a home than a business.

In one of the small rooms we placed our beloved Golden on the soft rug, sitting with Henry as we petted him into pure peace. At his last breath, the vet cried softly with us, and I confess, I continued to pet him for another 30 minutes.

Our companion for 12 years.

In the ensuing f...
