5* Review - That Witch Ripped Up My Flowers!

5* Review By Jane Finch for Readers’ Favorite

That Witch Ripped Up My Flowers by Michele Lynn Seigfried is the story of a princess who loves her flower garden. It is something that is very precious to her. Unfortunately, the witch doesn’t like flowers at all and she destroys all the flowers. The princess is very upset and can’t understand why the witch would not like flowers, but even more so why would she want to destroy something so beautiful. Fortunately, the princess has a very clever mother, the Queen, who comes up with an idea to protect the flowers from the naughty witch. Between them, can the princess and the Queen manage to solve the problem of stopping the witch from carrying out any more destruction in the flower garden?

This is a sweet story, told in rhyme which helps the story to flow well. The illustrations are simple and colourful and bring the story to life. The author and illustrator, Michele Lynn Siegfried, has done a really good job in conveying a story that is not just about good and evil, but also about jealousy and envy. The witch doesn’t like the princess because she is beautiful, as are the flowers. The witch can’t stand things that are beautiful and so she acts in a mean manner. The fact that the princess finds a way to solve the problem rather than retaliate is a good life lesson in dealing with bullies. This would be a lovely story to be read to a child at bedtime where the parent could discuss the reasons why the princess was successful in acting the way she did.

Review - Community Affairs

The first of the reviews is in for Community Affairs! Check it out!

Trudi LoPreto for Readers’ Favorite says: Community Affairs (Jersey Shore Mystery Series Book 3) by Michele Lynn Seigfried has all the elements for mystery, sleuthing and comedy written in one good story. Bonnie lives on the Jersey shore with her husband and two daughters. Bonnie has a good life until Senator and Lyla Spratt move in next door. Bonnie and Lyla instantly don’t like each other. Lyla does everything she can to make Bonnie’s life miserable, and succeeds. Bonnie believes and sets out to prove that Lyla is responsible for the disappearance and death of Polly Pitcher. This gets her into lots and lots of trouble. Bonnie tells the story while being held captive. She shares what Lyla has done, including among other things defacing her garage and spreading nasty rumors. Bonnie’s husband, the police and the FBI warn her to not get involved, but that only makes her want to solve the case even more.

Community Affairs is a mystery story with humor. Michele Lynn Seigfried has created characters that will make you laugh, worry, love and hate. I found myself reading late into the night because I couldn’t wait to find out what Bonnie would do next. It kept me involved right up to the ending I never saw coming. Community Affairs stands very well on its own merit. I highly recommend this book and anxiously await book number four.

5* Review - Nobody Bullies Bub!

I'm so excited about this 5 star review for Nobody Bullies Bub!

https://readersfavorite.com/book-revi...

Reviewed by Jane Finch for Readers' Favorite

Nobody Bullies Bub! by Michele Lynn Siegfried is also illustrated by Michele and tells the story of Bub and how he stands up to a bully at school. The bully tries to take Bub’s lunch, and the story explores the way Bub manages to stand up for himself. It focuses on being strong, being confident, telling a teacher, telling parents, and most of all, not to over-react. The illustrations are simple yet colourful, which will hold a young reader’s attention. Bub is immediately a likeable character and, as readers, children will immediately see how wrong the bully is, and how unjust. The book finishes with helpful advice about what to do if a child finds themselves in a similar position to Bub.

This is a helpful little story that will assist a child to realise not only if they are being bullied, but what they can do about it. Unfortunately, bullying is all too common in schools today and it will help a child to know that there is something they can do about it. Bub’s story is typical of how a bully will single out a child and the advice the author, Michele Lynn Siegfried, offers is set out in a simple and concise way. This will be an ideal book for a parent to read with a child, to offer explanations and to discuss a variety of situations where bullying might occur. Also in the classroom, the teacher could emphasise that bullying will not be tolerated and perhaps avoid situations like Bub's, which could have turned out much worse if Bub had not been able to stand up to the bully.

It’s neighbor vs. neighbor in this cozy mystery! And it’s told from Bonnie’s point of view. While it is book 3 in the series, it stands on its own, with a totally different plot. You definitely don’t have to read the other books in the series to know what’s going on.

Book Description:

A tale of kidnapping, murder, and neighbors you’d like to kidnap and murder…

Bonnie Fattori is a sexy, sassy, Italian Princess living in New Jersey. She’s loving life with a rich husband, beachfront living, and a promotion at work—until a new neighbor, Lyla Spratt, is determined to destroy her happiness.

After several run-ins with the unstable woman next door, Bonnie starts to suspect a connection between her new neighbor and the untimely death of a local resident, Polly Pitcher. She recruits her good friend Chelsey to help figure out if her suspicions are correct.

As the neighbors go head-to-head in a hilarious battle, Lyla is pushed to the brink of insanity. The more unhinged Lyla becomes, the more Bonnie’s life and the safety of her family are at risk. Can Bonnie find out what really happened to Polly Pitcher before it’s too late? A perfect read for those who like laugh-out-loud humor in their mysteries!

Cover Reveal - Community Affairs

Stop by my website today to see the cover for Community Affairs, Book 3 in the Jersey Shore Mystery Series!

http://michelelynnseigfried.com/2014/...

I’ve also selected a release date: January 27, 2014.

I have it back from the editor, and I’m doing another proofread myself. It’s almost formatted for kindle and I still have to do the formatting for the paperback, but I wanted to wait on that until I get the proofreading done.

In just a couple of weeks, I’ll be getting copies out to the Beta Readers — thank you for all who signed up to do that for me! And I’m in the process of scheduling a book tour for February, so the bloggers who sign up for that will be getting the book soon for their reviews as well. If you want to participate in the book tour or be a beta reader, just let me know and I’ll hook you up!

I’m so excited about this one, I just LOVE Bonnie as the main character. It’s definitely my new favorite in the Jersey Shore Mystery Series. Thank you to everyone who has been asking me about it!

Steinert High Craft Show

What a wonderful day it was today, at the Steinert High School in Hamilton, NJ, despite mother nature's attempts at putting a damper on things! I was thrilled to meet a long-time fan/supporter of mine! And I am so happy that I was able to reconnect with an old friend there.

Book sales were good too, but it's the great people I've had the pleasure of meeting and seeing again that make it all worthwhile.

A special thank you to the ladies from Steinert's PTA that run the craft show--they are always so supportive of me! It was great to see you all again, and I'm looking forward to next year!

Community Affairs Update

Hello friends!

Community Affairs is through editing and is in the proofreading stage! I should have it back in about a week, so I can do another proofread myself. Then I’ll format the paperback version, upload it to the printer, then order a proof copy. Meanwhile, I’ll format it for Kindle and Nook. Then it’s off to the beta readers and reviewers for a couple of months before it will be officially released.

Interested in an advanced copy? Become one of my beta readers!

What does a beta reader do?

Well, that’s easy. You’ll get a free early copy of the book (kindle or nook, your choice) – before the public can buy it. You’ll let me know what you thought, and if you see any spelling, grammatical or consistency errors. You’ll write a review to put on Amazon. Then, I’ll put your name in the front of the book thanking you for your help (If you want your name there)!

Sound interesting? Send me a message and let me know you want to be a beta reader!

Stay tuned! I’m going to reveal the cover for Community Affairs next week!
