A Day in the Life of...Michele Lynn Seigfried
Visit Kate Eileen Shannon’s Rantin’ Ravin’ and Reading blog today and find out what a day in my life is like! Also, enter the giveaway for a free kindle version of Tax Cut by commenting on Kate’s post. She also gave a great 5* review of Tax Cut which is copied below:
http://kateeileenshannon.com/2014/02/...
Until was laid off in 2009, I too was a municipal employee with all my certifications (assessment). Thought I would retire from that. Oh well. Needless too say, I find this series a real hoot. And there was a lot to recognize for me. Michele kindly sent RED TAPE to all the reviewers while we were waiting for TAX CUT to be ready. I strongly advise you to read the series from the beginning. Not necessary but so much fun! What I like about Chelsey Alton is she reacts to murder much more like you or I would. After her first one, in RED TAPE, she takes a year off to have a minor nervous breakdown before we see her again in TAX CUT. Not like these Jessica Fletcher types who skip merrily from one murder to another! Of course, now that she has been through another one, I’m sure she will handily handle many more – or so I hope because this is a great new cozy series. And seeing the series is set in New Jersey, I am certain MS Seigfried won’t be running out of material anytime soon. This one is ♥♥♥♥♥

Book Tour Review
You're all going to be so sick of me this week, with the book tour for Tax Cut, I'm getting in great reviews, and I'm just so excited about all of them! Be on the lookout for another giveaway tomorrow, so you can read it for free! Meanwhile, here is another review from today's blogger:
http://rosaleerichland.blogspot.com/
Review: This is the second in the series, following RED TAPE. Filled with suspense, humor, friendships, TAX CUTS is fast paced. Well written and engaging, it was hard to put down. Chelsey is likable and responsible, even conservative and naive. Her friend Bonnie is quite the opposite. When Nero/Zero is added in, along with Babs and her crazy calls, well to say the characters are unique would be an understatement. The suspense is there and it's not quite clear who's running the show until the very end. Hopefully, there will be another one in the Jersey Shore Mysteries series soon.

Former Mayors can now perform marriages
Good Morning! The governor of the State of New Jersey has signed a new bill into law this past week, allowing for former Mayors to perform marriage ceremonies (both same sex marriages and heterosexual marriages are permitted in New Jersey).
Too often couples are having trouble finding someone to perform their ceremonies in New Jersey. This opens up the window to help a lot of couples out. The caveat is that the former mayor cannot currently be serving on the governing body (i.e. they cannot be a current councilperson, committeeperson, etc.)
So who else can perform ceremonies in New Jersey? A judge, a religious figure (such as a priest, rabbi, minister, etc.), the county clerk, those who are internet ordained, and currently serving Mayors.
If you need more information, you can always call your local municipal clerk or local registrar of vital statistics.
Don't forget, you also need to apply for a marriage license in New Jersey, before you are permitted to be married, and there is a 72 hour waiting period. There is no blood test required in New Jersey (they did away with blood tests in the 80s or 90s).

Happy 2/2/14!
Happy Ground Hog day! Well, I'm not too happy about all the snow coming tomorrow to New Jersey, but at least it's warmer today! Enjoy the big game everyone! I like the commercials better than the game, but it's kind of cool that Super Bowl is in NJ this year!

Happy Veteran's Day
I wanted to take a moment to say Happy Veteran’s Day to all those men and women who fought for our freedom and served this country. The United States would not be the same without you! I’d like to especially thank my father, Charles, for serving in the marines during the Vietnam War and to my 92-year-old cousin, Joe Fruscione, who fought in WWII. We are lucky to have them both still in our lives today!
In book news, Tax Cut is off to the editor. I have to choose an official date for its release, about eight weeks away. I’ve also decided that one of the Guy and Bub children’s books will be the next book that I release. I’m going to start working on it tonight, and I’ll post some preliminary pictures in a couple of weeks.
Take care and have a wonderful Veteran’s Day!
xoxo
