New places to find my books…
Hey everyone–
If there’s been a location you’ve wanted my books but hadn’t found them, I’ve diversified a bit more and signed up with Draft2Digital.
The Forgotten Flapper and The It Girl and Me are now both available in ebook format from 24Symbols, Playster, Baker and Taylor, and Biblioteca.
So if you’d like to recommend my books to a library near you, this will make it easier for them to order.
Hopefully soon, I’ll be able to have soft cover books available too, but that option is not yet there for me. I already have one library, Santa Fe, New Mexico, who’d like to order copies when that option opens.

Marie should be ready for the first weeks of beach season…
I know it looks bleak out there with winter coming. I’m editing like crazy, cleaning up and adding lots of mayo to my new sandwich, slathering it on wherever it will fit (those of you who have heard me on podcasts talking about my process know that for me, writing a book is a lot like building a sandwich. The mayo at the end is my favorite part!)
So this will be good news for all you bathing beauties out there. Keep an eye out for Bathing Beauty, coming spring of 2019!

Patience please as I modernize…
Hey all–
Thanks for your patience as I modernize my website! Inspired by one of my co-workers doing the same for some clients at my day job, I decided to upgrade to a responsive model, so that it can be viewed on a phone tablet, or other device.
Still mastering my new theme, so trying to get everything cleaned up and pretty. And I’m considering other improvements as well, so stay tuned!

I’ve joined Patreon!
Hey all- I’m so excited to announce that I’ve joined Patreon!
If you’ve been wondering if there’s a way to help an author, artist, or other creative type create more or better work, Patreon is a way to become a patron of the arts. For only a few bucks a month, you can support your favorite artist, podcaster, or in my case, writer.
The Forgotten Actresses series is full of detail about old Hollywood. That means research books, a subscription to newspapers.com, and travel to places so I can explore them more fully (also, visiting courthouses for records, or film archives to watch old movies).
There are several levels of rewards (free e-books, signed hard copies for the Essanay level, and cool extras!), so visit my page to see more, if you’re interested in becoming a patron!
Take it easy for now, y’all!

Busy busy busy!
Hi fans and friends–
You’ll be excited to know that the edits to my newest novel about Marie Prevost are going swimmingly. I’ve gotten my writing routine back in the mornings before work (so valuable to a creature of habit, like me). I’ve also been going hard at it on the weekends, thanks to the nice folks at Cafe Blackbird, here in Edmonton, who’ve created a friendly, warm space for me to go on weekends, stock up on lattes and London Fogs, and motor through a bazillion edits!
I’m taking a quick break between Christmas parties (this weekend we have two of them) to share a photo my husband took of our cat, Lily, helping me verify my German translation a while back (note the ever-present Langenscheidt in my hand):
Happy holidays, everyone!

The Forgotten Flapper is now available in German!
I’m so excited to announce that der vergessene Flapper is now available through most of the usual online channels!
This is the e-book AND the hard copy. I’m so thrilled to have worked with Roswitha Giesen to create a translation that I’m thoroughly proud of. And I spent the extra time formatting it so it has the same beautiful look and feel that Ian Koviak at The Book Designers gave my English version.
So if you have any German friends, please let them know!

Historical Fiction Virtual Blog Tour – Date change Nov 1-29
Hi all-
Sorry to be so silent for months. Real life had to intrude on the writing for a while.
I got a new daytime job back in June, and all my energy has been spent settling in, learning the work, and WRITING (really, writing!) for the first time in months. I’ve been churning out pages like there’s no tomorrow. I’ve discovered I’m one of those really weird writers who functions better with a day job. It keeps my brain engaged and working during the day so I can be hitting on all six in my off time. When I was unemployed (for six months), I went through a really hard time. No money, no creative juices, no energy, no nothing. So I officially hate unemployment. I’m just putting that out there.
I’ve finally been able to start promoting The It Girl and Me using other routes, now that I have a little disposable income again. I’ll be doing a Historical Fiction Virtual Blog Tour from November 1 to November 29. I’ll be giving away multiple copies (hard and ecopies) in Canada and the US, so come check out the blogs. If you sign up, you might win a free copy!

Pricing change, and my apologies….
Hi all-
Will be posting California updates soon. But in the meantime, I need to let everyone know that I’ve had to hike the prices on my soft-cover books a few dollars in all currencies.
Unfortunately, it was necessary, since I was clearing a negative profit through Ingram distributors. Because bookstores have to offer those books at a substantial discount, I was making negative dollar profit, and Ingram does not allow that. If you had planned on buying a book, but now believe that the price is too high, I’m sorry about the increase. But I understand. Please consider purchasing the ebook instead. There are also used books available through various sources.
It was a hard decision to make, but I hope you’ll continue to enjoy my books in the future.
Thanks for your understanding…
