Great Reviews For Blood of Kings!

As Blood of Kings continues to rise up the Amazon chart, it has received some terrific early reviews.

Dr John Curtis, OBE, FBA, formerly Keeper of the Department of Middle East, the British Museum, described the novel as 'a brilliantly written and scrupulously researched historical novel that uniquely captures the atmosphere surrounding the rise to power of Darius, the greatest king of Ancient Persia. His story is interwoven with parallel events in Egypt and Greece, making this novel of absorbing interest to anybody with an interest in the ancient world'

While Frankie Bailey, former BBC Scriptwriter for Peak Practice and Birds of a Feather, described it as 'a vivid and erudite exposition of an era that has often been explored, but rarely from such an original and fascinating perspective.'

BLOOD OF KINGS LIVE!

After years of hard work it is immensely exciting that Blood of Kings is finally emerging into the limelight. And published by Penguin, too, which is a real bonus. There are hundreds of great novels about Rome and Greece, but it’s a mystery why no one has ever written about the most spectacular and lavish Empire of all…

Now that has changed, and from the reaction so far historical fiction fans love the idea of a new and exciting world to explore.

Ancient Persia was an astonishing place. A nation of superb horsemen and skilled archers, living in a land of spectacular scenery, full of bright, vibrant colours. Scorching deserts and snow capped mountains, deep blue lakes and dusty palm groves…

The Persians were a warlike people who bred huge horses, forged weapons from an early form of carbon steel, and put the two together to conquer a vast Empire. Then they settled down, an advanced civilisation enjoying the power and luxury they had earned with their swords. While Rome was still an unimportant town, the Persians were building huge cities filled with beautiful art and sculpture.

Famous for its immense wealth, Ancient Persia’s mix of power, glory, decadence and beauty is an irresistible attraction for any author, and makes for a great story. Enjoy reading all about it in Blood of Kings…..
