The Inn of the Kindred Spirits releases Monday, November 18

The Inn of the Kindred Spirits, a novella featuring Tallis Challinor from The Portal’s Choice, releases on Monday, November 18, 2013.  Below is a short synopsis from the back of the book.

Brittany, France. Near the coast. A picturesque inn. Spectacular scenery. Tasty French treats. Time off from school.

Tallis Challinor imagines this as the perfect vacation scenario, so when her grandfather suggests that she accompany him to the country of her ancestors, she is more than happy to tag along. What Tallis doesn’t bargain on is another ghostly encounter, especially not so soon after she’s sealed up a bunch of unruly ghosts on their side of the portal between the human and spirit realms. But, when she feels the energy radiating from the megalithic standing stones dotting the countryside around Carnac, France, an energy that feels frighteningly like the power exuding from the portal in her basement back home, she has a feeling she might be in trouble.  And she is right.

When her grandfather goes missing, Tallis leaps into action. She calls the only ghostbuster she knows in France and, with help on the way, she gears up to battle another set of spirits bent on causing destruction. Along the way, Tallis is forced to examine her life, her relationships, and her tightly-held beliefs about who she is and where she comes from.  She also has to juggle two impossible males, both attractive but annoying, both seemingly set on driving her nuts or breaking her heart.

The Portal’s Choice has a new cover

The Portal’s Choice has a beautiful new cover, designed by Peter at Bespoke Book Covers.  Peter is located in Bedfordshire in the United Kingdom. He’s been great to work with and I think he has captured the eerie feeling I wanted for the cover of my ghost story.

Peter is busy finishing the cover for my next book, The Inn of the Kindred Spirits, which will be released on November 18. I’ll be revealing the cover for that book as soon as I have it to share, and I cannot wait.

Would you like to read The Portal’s Choice? And would you review it?

Would you like to read The Portal’s Choice and are you willing to leave an honest review on Amazon about my book? If so, then read on.

I am gifting 300 e-book copies of The Portal’s Choice to the first willing readers who send me an e-mail requesting the book.  I’ve posted this offer on several social media sites and have had a steady number of requests to participate. I will be sending the e-books out the week of November 18, so if you’re interested, read the letter I’ve sent out and reply:

Dear _____,

I want people to read my book and to leave honest reviews on Amazon. As an avid reader myself, I understand that buying a book by an unknown writer is a risk when there are so many well-known writers to choose from.

To encourage readers to give my novel a chance, during the week of November 18 I will personally purchase 300 copies of my book in Kindle (150) and Nook (150) formats and will gift those copies to readers who agree to read and honestly review the book.

For the record, this will not be done during a KDP Select free day. As I said, I will purchase the books as a gift to willing readers. If you would like to be one of those readers – and you are willing to post your honest review of the novel to Amazon and/or B&N by December 15 – please email me at KDPryorbooks@gmail.com.

Please provide an email address where Amazon or Barnes & Noble can send your gift. Please also let me know if you prefer the Nook or Kindle format.

For the record, I will only use your email address in order to send you the book (that is how Amazon and B&N send gifted eBooks). Also, please note that even if you don’t have a Kindle or a Nook, the book can be read on iPads, etc. using the free Kindle or Nook app.

Sincerely,

KD Pryor

PS: Please feel free to share this offer with people you know who love to read!

Thank you for your help promoting this book!

The next Gatekeepers of Em’pyrean Book to be released in November

After a rather extended break I am back and excited to announce that my next book, The Inn of the Kindred Spirits, a novella featuring Tallis Challinor, will be released in November.  Tallis finally gets a vacation in this short novel, and she can’t imagine a better place to relax than Carnac, France, on the southern coast of Brittany. Unfortunately, her plans go awry when, once again, she’s faced with spirits who refuse to leave the living alone.

I’ll be updating the final release date for The Inn of the Kindred Spirits and do a cover reveal as we get closer to release date. For now, here’s the back of the book blurb. I’m sure it will pique your interest if you’re a ghostbuster like Tallis.
