JANE. I think before meeting ‘the hamstah dudes’, honestly no.

However now and thinking back to my first pet who a hamstah called ‘Daphne, who had a true adventurous spirit,(she once went missing for hours, only to turn up fast asleep in my dad’s wardrobe).

I can see that they have a true fighting instinct, and a certain mystic that shifter romance heroes and heroines need, so maybe I could work one into book 3 of The Dragon Legacy.

Jane. That’s true.

zmedddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd

My latest release is a mystery/thriller with a strong romance thread, set in Texas. So I’ve swopped ‘Dragons’ for ‘Cowboys’ and if you see my latest cover maybe you can see the appeal?

zmeddung2

Although this story is not like the fantasy/paranormal stories I’ve published previously. It does share the Mystery/Thriller and Romance elements, which are in all my stories.

The Dangerous Gift has a long history. I actually started writing it before I wrote the second book in The Dragon Legacy series – The Revenge Masquerade.

zsilvcompl

Originally I got the idea when I entered a ‘pitch contest’, over three years ago. I’d never written anything based in the US but the series I pitched to required this. Once I started writing, I liked the characters and enjoyed developing the sinister antagonist, so I decided to finish it,

zdickens cell

Jane, It was finished probably, 18 months ago. I queried it with all types of publishers, a couple of them liked it but one said ‘romantic suspense was too hard to sell’ and the other one said ‘it wasn’t suspenseful enough’.

Disillusioned, I discussed it with a trusted writer friend and decided to self-publish. Before I got round to doing this, I pitched it in the #PitMad twitter pitch contest, last September and it was picked up by four publishers.

I pursued a couple of them and decided on ‘Limitless Publishing’.

zsilvdungggg

zmed-bbbbbbbubb

Jane. It was hard to change publishers; I didn’t pitch this book to ‘The Dragon Legacy’s publishers, which would have been the easy and safe option. I wanted a change, to see if my writing could attract another publisher and eventually it did. J

‘Limitless Publishing’ was keen to buy my story, which was great after all the rejections that came before. My primary reason for selling to them was head rather than heart based. They have excellent social media links and provide their authors with expert promotional advice and support. I feel like part of a team. It’s a good feeling and worth waiting for.

zsilvdungeon 3

Jane. Yes, I always feel like  that when I’m writing. I have an optimistic nature but there were so many times when I wondered if it was any good but then I’d think of a new twist or great dialogue and I would be madly writing again.

ztony

Jane, Oh yes, as you know I am easily distracted and having my new grandson living with us has proved to be a major reason not to write. He is so lovely and I want to spend time with him and my daughter, at the expense of everything else. However with this new release and having time to think, I truly want to write again and I am hopeful the next few weeks will be full of writing.

zmed-bbbbbbbubb290909 zbooo2

Jane, Jared, the sexy cowboy, on the cover, is loyal, stubborn and protective. His sexy, tough manner hides a sensitive heart which our heroine Jennie is determined to uncover. Family and heritage are important to Jared and he will sacrifice anything, including it seems Jennie, to honour his parents and keep the ranch viable.

Fortunately for him, Jennie is no pushover. Her courageous and impulsive nature makes him realise, he isn’t alone and that some people are worth more than material possessions.

The sinister antagonist will do anything to achieve their own goals, which certainly don’t include a ‘happy ever after’, for Jared and Jennie. Do they succeed? You’ll have to read ‘The Dangerous Gift’ to find out.

zcat10

Jane. Who knows? I am currently writing a historical mystery romance, which is the first in a series of three. I am half way through with this story and I have already plotted the end so I am desperate to finish this and see if anyone likes it.

‘Limitless Publishing’ would like me to continue ‘The Dangerous Gift’ story into a series and I am currently thinking of ways I can do this.

zdickens 333

zsilvin dunge

I am also keen to finish ‘The Dragon Legacy’ series, there are two more books to write but these are on the back burner whilst I explore other genres.

I like to read all genres of romance as well as mystery, thriller and paranormal stories. My aim is to write in all of these genres, so yes contemporary romance could be a possibility too.

Thank you so much for inviting me on your blog Shey and the hamstah dudes. I’ve loved being here x

The Dangerous Gift FRONT COVER

After a tragic plane crash kills Jennie Taylor’s guardians, she returns to her childhood home—and her first love, Jared Stewart.

At just eighteen years old, Jennie had left the Unicorn Ranch in Texas to seek a life in the outside world. But she wasn’t just running toward independence. Heartbroken and confused, Jennie fled her home after Jared harshly rejected her on the eve of her birthday.

Now she must choose between making a new life on the ranch she has grown to love, or returning to her simple but empty life in England. The choice seems obvious at first, but nothing in life is simple

Jared is forced to share control of his beloved ranch with the woman he wants but can’t have.

When Jennie receives an anonymous note, she goes to Jared for support. But what she finds is more than she was prepared for, driving the two further apart than ever. When an old friend is murdered and suspicious accidents escalate, endangering Jennie’s safety, Jared becomes her reluctant protector.

Jennie knows Jared is hiding something, but does he really want her gone from the ranch? And if so, could he be the one behind the ominous threats?

Determined to prove Jared isn’t involved, Jennie turns detective. Can she succeed in her courageous but reckless investigation…or is the truth a dangerous gift she won’t survive?

JANE HUNT

JANE HUNT —-‘Writing has touched my life in every decade. At fifty, I took a risk and made writing my career, fulfilling a lifetime ambition.’

I enjoy writing blogs, book reviews and especially stories. Vivid imagery, atmospheric settings, strong females and sensual males are essential for my stories. Everyday life and ordinary people inspire me. How would someone react, if faced with something extraordinary?  A thread of romance runs through my all my books, whether they be suspense, fantasy or historical.

I want to let my readers escape their lives for a while, experience new places, new people and most importantly, new emotional lows and highs My favorite parts of the writing process are; finding a person, event or place that makes me want to write a story about it and the writing itself; when your fingers cannot type fast enough, to transcribe your thoughts.

Family is very important to me. My two children are my greatest achievement to date. I am an animal welfare supporter and regularly use social media to promote animal welfare issues.

Okay… A FAMOUS lady who inspires me who may be dealing with negativity on a daily basis. HMMM. I can certainly think of one. Her name is Silv

znew

You know she takes all sorts of complaints from everyone. BUT despite that she persists in wearing a witches hat with purple veils attached, giving writing tips AND fighting for world domination by hamsters,  often complaining about world famous poets and writers because they don’t. In fact Silv complains and whinges about everything and anything but doesn’t that just make her like the rest of us?

zant

zwe6silv

What is more Silv is famous here.  Now then a woman I always interact with on a daily basis? Well, let’s face it Silv may only be  a hamster the times I’ve been inspired to locked her up and shut her are are many…. You know I think. …  ………………..

I THINK SHE QUALIFIES. zsilve and didf

And I really would not want those I know who do inspire me, or indeed my heroines rowing amongst themselves. A fight between Fury and Malice for example would not be a good idea….

zsilvcheeky

Now, lastly, well, lastly after thanking  the lovely and amazing Inese for thinking of me.  Five LADY bloggers who inspire me…?  Goodness, zmed-

this is hard, all the blogs I follow are amazing blogs. But I have to narrow this right? And Inese has already been picked. So..I really think……

1 Catherine Cavendish. http://www.catherinecavendish.com/

zdickensnsnsnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

She’s had her unfair share of things to deal with lately but she keeps right out there, working without a single complaint, her chin always up.    She’s an amazing, talented  lady who has always been kind to me and her grace in the face of so much is an inspiration.  zmed-bbbbbbwil

2 Noelle Clark. How did you guess? She’s another writer who is so much more than that to me. Noelle inspires me because she often emails going I need a shoulder to cry on. The fact is she doesn’t. She deals with so much for her family it’s unreal. I love my family so anyone who is always right there for theirs is an inspiration. http://www.noelleclark.net/about.html

zdickens cell

3 Debby Kaye. Again Debby has had her share, growing up in a broken home, she’s fought battles galore. I love her. You hamstah dudes do too, although you know you secretly love Noelle and Catherine. zant4

She is always so sassy and positive, unafraid to write of her struggles in a good way. I have to admire that.

http://dgkayewriter.com/

4 Aquileana  inspires me because she’s a class act. She writes amazing blogs on mythology. Real visual treats, meticulously researched. But she’s a wonderful poet who  encourages others, in fact I’d say she encourages everyone she meets. That is saying something when you see how popular her blog is.

https://aquileana.wordpress.com

5 If you haven’t visited the lovely Doda, please do. https://dodagrivas.wordpress.com/ I know straight off she will say I can’t accept this, let’s leave this to the professionals and that’s okay.  But Doda writes beautiful blogs on Greece, on peace and love. She calls her blog ‘her’  Space in the Immense Universe and it is a space I’m glad she occupies. She is so friendly and encouraging behind the scenes  AND loves Scotland. AND hamsters.

Noelle. I seriously considered setting book 1 of this series in Hamsterland, but I got lost and ended up in Amsterdam. It was very strange there….lots of red lights in shop windows. As my favourite colour is green, and not red, I decided I should hop across to Ireland where everything is green. It is also the land of my forebears, in particular, County Tipperary. I feel a special bond with Ireland and I wanted to write a story that would allow me to ‘tip my hat’ to my great grandparents.

Noelle .This book? As opposed to the first two books in the series? Lots. As the subtitle – Winds of Change – suggests, we move outside Robinhill Farm and into the little village of Timpelaire. The characters from the two previous books are in it too, but there’s nothing like a bit of new blood to liven things up. And Dylan Thompson arrives out of nowhere and sets hearts a-flutter from Cork to the Antrim Coast.

Noelle. Oh, sure it does! It’s about a mile north of Timpelaire. Take the Lisdallen road for a while, then turn left into the track with the Robinhill Farm sign. Make sure you don’t end up at An Mullach farm by mistake. They have several dogs who just LOVE ham(sters).

Noelle.  In Book 1, we got deep and meaningful with Bryan’s Zwartble sheep. In Book 2, Aislin introduced Liam and Bryan to alpacas, and in particular one randy stud called Fidel. And now, in book 3, we meet Rocky and Bullwinkle.

Noelle .I certainly have. Two of my friends and I – all fetching, available gals – attended the Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking Festival a few years back. Man, we broke some Irish hearts! Alas, we are still single, but we now have a good idea about what makes Irish Farmers tick. I left the girls in Lisdoonvarna for several days and drove all around Ireland on my own. I wanted to visit County Tipperary to check up on my cousins who still live on the family farm there. Next time I visit, I’d like to spend more time in Doolin, and visit the north-west coast. I also love the Antrim coast north of Belfast. Beautiful country.

zlove9999

Noelle Listen, guys. I – er – don’t know how to tell you this, but the answer is no. You see, Ireland is a VERY dangerous place for hamsters. They have wild foxes who hunt hamsters down, kill them, and eat them. You’re better off staying home with Shey.

Noelle  Well, that was a shock to everyone involved. They gave us our rights back to our books, but Honor’s Legacy was due out a few weeks after they closed. So I’ve embarked on a steep learning curve and re-published books 1 and 2 in the series, and now Book 3. I could have submitted them to another publisher, but I’ve been keen to try self-pubbing for a while.

zmedddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd

zhamstererererererer

Noelle . I’m very fortunate that many of my author mates have self-pubbed very successfully, and they helped out, particularly Annie Seaton. She was my go-to person when I was pulling my hair out. Suzi Love ran a workshop on self-publishing too, and that was extremely helpful. Publishing eBooks is fairly straightforward, but the print versions takes a bit of effort.

znoelleleeletytytyt

Noelle.  In July, I will release Buckley’s Chance. It is book 13 in the fantastic Bindarra Creek Romance series. The series is written by a collective of 13 authors, each writing a book a month set in the fictional-but-could-easily-be-real town of Bindarra Creek. I’m also down for two short stories for inclusion in anthologies, and I hope to be publishing my long awaited historical – Stone of Heaven and Earth.

Forced to grow up tough and alone, Dylan and Ellen are unlikely candidates for a match made in heaven. But no one factored in Honor’s Legacy.

Blurb

Australian stockman, Dylan Thompson, has had enough of farming. He seeks greener pastures and stumbles upon Robinhill Farm in beautiful Ireland. It’s there that he meets the beautiful young nanny, Ellen O’Malley. He’s intrigued by her but it’s clear she wants nothing to do with him.

Despite her vulnerable-looking exterior, Ellen O’Malley is tough. She’s had to be. All her life she’s had to struggle against not fitting in. The cruel and lonely hand she’s been dealt has made her mistrustful of many, and extremely loyal to a few.

Is it just coincidence that Ellen and Dylan meet? Or could it be part of the magic of Honor’s legacy?

In this tale of redemption, forgiveness, love, and letting go, Dylan and Ellen come to terms with their past. Under the watchful eye of loved ones they slowly learn how to put their demons to bed and embrace a future full of promise.

Author Bio

Noelle Clark is an Australian author of contemporary romance novels, rural romance, and historical fiction. Her books weave romance, intrigue, and adventure into colourful and interesting settings. They feature characters who deal with love and loss; and who experience the often difficult facets of life, such as forgiveness and redemption. Noelle lives close to the sea in sunny Queensland, Australia, and shares her home with one cat and two dogs. She has two grown up children and four very small grandchildren. When Noelle’s not writing and travelling, she procrastinates a lot by thinking about travel, and perfecting ways to avoid housework.

 Q. Shey. Your book is called Peyton’s Doll, why isn’t it called Peyton’s Hamster?

Q Shey.  Who wrote these crappy questions?

happy th

zhamcellll3333

A. Kate. Unfortunately there aren’t any hamsters featured in this book series, just humans, androids-that-are-almost-human, and robots. So while having a fluffy hamster on the cover and in the title would be undeniably cute, it would likely confuse the readers. (Sorry Hamstah dudes! Luvs yah!)

 phonepix 028

2Q Shey. SO who is Peyton and why a ‘Doll’?

 zsilvcell

A Kate. Peyton is Dr. Peyton Chase. He lives on a future Earth where the human race is struggling to survive, 1000 years after a viral plague has nearly wiped everyone out. There aren’t enough people left to keep things running, which is where the android Dolls come in as live-in companions. The story is about a certain Doll that is gifted to Peyton by his concerned friends, who think she will help him get over the loss of his wife. Peyton is furious. He doesn’t want a sex-droid Doll. But it turns out, when he opens that box to unpack her, that she isn’t a regular Doll at all. In fact, she’s quite something else entirely. I won’t spoil the story, but there’s a lot of intrigue, sizzling smexiness, romance and humour that goes on while Peyton and his ‘Doll’ try to sort things out.

zwe6silv

zsilvcell555

Q Shey. What is the hardest thing about writing a book?

zdickens 333

A.  Kate.  Hummm. Well, I hate to break it to any new writers out there, but writing is the easy part. Selling is where things get hard. And by selling, I mean convincing the world to give your stories a try. You really need to believe in your stories deep down inside, and be willing to take chances for them. But you also need to be willing to learn from your mistakes and keep learning. I’ve seen people mess up both, either losing faith in their work, or feeling like they don’t have to listen when advice is given. Both will stop your career in its tracks. Don’t sweat the small stuff, enjoy the little things, and above all…don’t stop writing!

Q Shey  This series is different from your Little Miss Kick-Ass series, what caused the change?

A. Kate  Well, that’s a bit of a story in itself. I blogged about that very thing on my website. If you want to read the full story, please check it out by clicking here: Kates Blog.

zwe6silv

Have I turned my back on Little Miss Kick-Ass? Absolutely not. The story isn’t finished there yet. But this series had been waiting to be told long before Race and Lucas came to be, and I felt it was time for Peyton to come out and meet the world.

Q Shey.  Would you consider writing a series about hamsters?

Q Shey. Right, that’s it. Which of you hamster blog idiots wrote this?

A Kate. Sure I would! We can call it 101 Temptations, and it can be all about The Hamsters living in the attic of a cheese shop, having to decide between cheddar and Gouda and fighting their way past an angry old cat named Pickles to get their dinner every day.

verdant work

 DSCF5242

Q Shey  Can you tell us a bit about your plans for this series?

zwe6silv

 DSCF4373

A Felicity . The New Earth series is a set of short stories that release monthly as a sci-fi romance series. In the age old tradition of serials, they are not standalone books and do have a tendency toward cliff-hanger endings that will leave you wanting to read the next part (In a good way, not the scream at the book and throw it against the wall kind of way. I don’t believe in doing that to people, lol). Currently there are 4 books planned, perhaps 5 or more, depending on how much trouble Peyton and Helen (he calls her Hell by the way. He has a sarcastic sense of humour) get into before finding their happily ever after. And yes, they do get their HEA in the end. This is a romance after all, even if it’s set in the future with robots. Part 1 is out now. Part 2 is setting up for pre-order with Amazon, Kobo etc as we speak and is out on February 10th. Part 3 is scheduled or March 23rd an so on….

Q SHey . Way to go girl. Way to go. Where did the idea come from?

lang may

zhamcellll3333

A Kate.  You know, it’s been so long since I first started writing this book series that I really don’t remember. I’ve always been a big fan of sci-fi and sexy romance, however, and I have a mad sense of humour. Mix all 3 together and you get Peyton’s Doll.

Q Shey I am thinking of doing some blogs on the actual writing process soon.

zwe6silv

What is your writing process?

A Kate. Write when you can, as much as you can and try not to revise anything until the first draft is done. And try to always have fun with whatever it is you are writing. Thanks for having me on your blog today, Shey! It’s always fun to visit with you and the hamsters.gone

~Synopsis~

She isn’t what the doctor ordered, but she’s just what he needs

1000 years after Earth has been devastated by a viral plague, the few survivors turn to genetic engineering and advanced robotics to ensure the future of the human race. But not everyone is happy with artificial life living amongst humans, least of all Peyton Chase, a doctor with a harrowing past.

When he’s ‘gifted’ with a state-of-the-art companion that he can’t send back, Peyton is far from pleased. She’s sentient. She’s sexy. She’s everything he doesn’t want complicating his life. He nicknames her Hell. She nicknames him lots of unladylike things, at least in her mind. Because there are rules to a relationship like theirs. Master and Slave. She’s supposed to obey him in all things. But if that’s true, why can’t she stop meddling in his life?

Unfortunately, time is running out for Hell. Her own desperate past is about to catch up to her with deadly results.

~Excerpt~

“You saved my life when it would’ve been easier to let me die,” said Hell. An incredible realization, especially considering killing her had been the thought most on Peyton’s mind when he’d initiated the scan. “Why?”

The warmth of his arm pulled away, but his comforting scent lingered. He picked up a nearby cloth and busied himself with wiping down the scanning array’s control panel. “I swore an oath once, to help those in need regardless of personal opinion.”

It’s all a question of making the right moves in book 2 of the London Jewel Thieves series and since the gang were scattered to the four winds, Splendor, their former skivvy, has made a lot of those, with her betrothed and jewel thief, Topaz in tow. But when one wrong move is all it takes to destroy everything she’s planned, can she stay on course against the one man in London with the potential to bring her down. Especially when she loses to him in a chess game where the prize is herself.

Kendall Winterborne, the Earl of Stillmore’s pet hates may be marriage, scullery maids and pretence. These are nothing to losing, or being thwarted. So he’s going in pursuit of the woman who’s left him flat.

Checkmate? Or Endgame? As one move leads to another, one thing’s for certain, he’s going to have to move fast if he wants to keep the woman he loves.

ADDIE JO RYLEIGH Of course I do!! In fact, we have a little female who has become part of the family.  My youngest son got her for Christmas last year. Hamsters are adorable *wink wink*

ADDIE JO RYLEIGH Hmmm…not sure I could figure out how to insert a hamster into a story but I’m always up to the challenge. After all, in THE DUKE’S TEMPTATION, Phoebe was a doll loving, pirate hunting, three year old.

ADDIE JO RYLEIGH There is just something about historical romances that I enjoy. I think it is the extra rules that stand in the way. And how breaking those rules add to the tension. Such as with the Regency period were the brush of a hand could mean just as much as a kiss. Or when the lack of an introduction can’t stand in the way of a determined female. Not to mention the beautiful settings. A glittering ballroom. A ducal estate. So many possibilities.

ADDIE JO RYLEIGH The path to publication for THE DUKE’S TEMPTATION was a long but educational one. Being my very first release, it traveled with endless baby steps. Not sure which direction I wanted to go, I first queried agents while submitting my story to various contests. angelou3-sized

Thanks to some contest wins, I had a few requests for my manuscript but it wasn’t until an editor at Soul Mate Publishing judged a contest when I found a home for Gabe and Elizabeth’s story. I continue to learn as I work on completing the Men of Circumstance series. As slow going as my path has been, I wouldn’t change a thing.

ADDIE JO RYLEIGH. As much as I love the cover for THE DUKE’S TEMPTATION, I’ve always had my own vision of Gabe. Part of my writing process is putting a face to my characters. If the good fairy was graciously granting my wish, I would hunt down Alex O’Loughlin to star as Gabe.

While it has always been easy for me to find an actor for my leading man, I have issues with their counterpart. In the end, I could see Candice Accola as a beautiful and determined Elizabeth.

ADDIE JO RYLEIGH.  I don’t have a special Christmas recipe but I wish I had more time to bake all the yummy goodies that come with the holiday. I keep telling myself…someday.

ADDIE JO RYLEIGH. With three young boys, Christmas will once again be filled with watching them enjoy the season and building great memories and traditions. We don’t have any big travel plans. We still live close to our extended family so we will spend the weekends around Christmas going from here to there. It gets to be a busy time but in the end it is all worth it.

ADDIE JO RYLEIGH. I continue to work on The Men of Circumstance series. I’m deep in edits for The Runner’s Enticement (book two), Nate’s story. It is slotted for release early summer 2016. I’m also finishing book three. It will be sad to one day finish the series but having Gabe, Nate, and Marcus’s stories completed will be a huge achievement.

Chapter 1

LONDON, ENGLAND

JULY 1816

Gabriel St. James, the sixth Duke of Wesbrook, locked his gaze on the lady—if one could even call her that. Having never dealt with this particular kind of lady before, he was not acquainted with the proper protocol.

Truth be told, he shouldn’t be so taken aback by the situation. He was, after all, his father’s son, and therefore destined to live the same debauched life. It still burned that after years of struggling against it, in the end, he’d had no choice but to grudgingly accept his place within the family line of scoundrels. His father had made sure there was no alternative.

He narrowed his eyes on the vision before him. To have his debauchery presented in such a fashion was something else entirely. Something he wasn’t certain he could withstand. He couldn’t deny that he gambled more often than not, consumed his fair share of liquor, and was a rake of the first order, but there were some lines he refused to cross. He’d vowed to never fully become his father.

That obviously failed. Not even he could dispute the proof standing there. The very evidence that confirmed he was more like the previous duke than he thought.

As much as he desired it, he could no longer ignore her—all thirty-six inches of her. Despite his confusion, there was no doubt the pixie-faced, three-year-old standing before him was his daughter. His illegitimate daughter.

There, he’d done it. He finally found a word to describe her. Daughter.

Fury pumped through his veins and caused his hand to tighten on the all-too-brief letter that had arrived with her. How the hell could he not have known he’d fathered a child three years ago? Denial might have been his gut reaction but in actuality there wasn’t a need for him to validate the information. He knew it was true. Her features might be feminine, but almost every scrap of her proclaimed she was a Wesbrook. From her wavy ebony hair that gave a hint of unruliness, to the way she raised her tiny chin under his scrutiny.

If that wasn’t enough to give credence to the girl’s lineage, her eyes said the rest. Penetrating blue eyes—a blue so rich it reminded him of the field of cornflowers growing wild on his estate—surrounded by lashes as dark as the night. Only one person had eyes like that.

Cecilia Fairchild, the child’s mother . . . the woman he’d almost married.
