Get Your Copy Today!
Yeah, so this book to summarize...I'm in love with Ryder...and Hockey players in general. Call me a puck bunny except I don't work my way through the whole team. I love all things hockey. This book just gave me the warm fuzzies. Don't ask me why...oh yeah that's right, it had all the things I love in it. Hockey, sexy man that knows what he wants and oh Hockey!! Yeah, see there is nothing better than a good love story than a good love story with a sexy hockey star who's a little vulnerable. Ryder had that in spades and he's open and honest with Lindsey from the start. He likes her. He wants her. She, however, is a different story - she hates hockey players because (GASP) she used to be a Puck Bunny. Now, she's sort of a Debbie downer. Boring, never has any fun and just around life existing. Until she meets Ryder and then all bets are off. What happens is a little loving....okay a lot and some misunderstandings, hurt and pain in the butt parents. Pick this up to read as part of the series or if you're reading just as a standalone. Quick, witty, and hot!! I loved this book!! Cindi outdid herself on this because of Ryder.  I loved him.  We all need a Ryder in our life.  He was so practical in the way he handled everything and the way he handled Lindsey.  Lindsey, at times, made me want to shake her...but I totally understood where she was coming from.  Ryder's mother and father...let's just take a moment of silence for all those out there who have parents that we'd rather we didn't (Silence)...and it's over.  I wanted to jack them by their underpants and knock them over the head.  They are such snobs.  There's really not much else to say.  I loved the way that Ryder loves but there was a part that left me kind of shaking my head and asking "Where did my Ryder go?" I know that authors feel they have to create angst but sometimes it's nice to not have any.  So, pick this book up and just read it!!

Excerpt

“Are you part of the execution team?”I swallowed, the thought of lying to her heavy in my throat. There was a reason we never divulged who was on the team. The stigma and attacks on our humanity would come from all angles, and in the end, it would change nothing. I am an executioner. It’s a job. Someone has to step up and do it. I was simply one of the few who were willing to swallow the emotional baggage that comes with putting another human being to death. I’m willing because maybe, just maybe, I’ll finally be able to bury the beast in me that snarls and snaps, thrashes and rages, thirsty for vengeance against the unknown monster that took my sister away. “You know I can’t talk about that, Genevieve. I’m sorry.”Her gold-green eyes sparked. “I thought so.”I frowned, not answering.“Okay. Let’s try this . . . hypothetically speaking, if someone were a part of the execution team at the prison, would they take part in every execution?”“Theoretically, barring some certain circumstances, yes. Most likely. The warden has assembled a team he trusts and that rarely changes.”She nodded and forked up a bite of meat. “How do you think those people feel? About killing another human being?” Her gaze was direct and unwavering.I set my fork down and thought carefully about my reply. “I think they don’t think about it like that.”“Does it make you sad?”A beat passed heavily between us. Two. “No.”She said nothing, returning to her meal, and I followed suit. Eventually, the cloud that filled the room seemed to dissipate as she digested my answers. “Tell me about your brothers. I’m dying to know about them.”“Why?”She shrugged one shoulder and sipped her wine. “I just am. Are they like you? Big and sexy and moody?”“I’m not moody.”She laughed. “Not denying the big and sexy, huh?”I fought the grin that wanted to bust loose and forked my salad. “We’re all big and sexy, I won’t lie.”“I’m sure. What else?”I thought of my brothers and our time together yesterday. Even as distant and strained as we’d become, I knew we all still loved each other fiercely. “Well, I’m the oldest. Levi is next. He’s a businessman in Austin, divorced, no kids. Jamison is a SWAT sniper in Dallas, goofy and single. Joshua works as a criminal profiler for the FBI in Virginia. He’s brainy and quiet and single, as far as I know anyway. And the baby is Silas. He’s an up and coming MMA fighter and he lives in Houston.”“So none of you have girlfriends or wives? Really?”I shrugged. It sounded weird when you put it that way. “Other than Levi, we’ve all managed to avoid it.”One brow lifted in challenge. “Avoid it?”“Yeah.” I scooped up the last of my food.“Are any of you gay?”I nearly choked. “No.” I grabbed my water and sipped. “Why would you ask that?”“Well, no women. Maybe there are men.”“No. Only careers.” And grief, but I didn’t admit that out loud. Her foot suddenly found my leg under the table. “I’m glad to hear it.”I ran a hand under her jeans and up her calf. “Interested in my brothers?”“No.”“Glad to hear it.” I caressed down her leg and massaged her instep. Her eyes fluttered closed as I continued rubbing her foot. Suddenly, I was overwhelmed by the need to taste her again. “Are we done here?” My voice was gruff, even to my own ears. Her eyes slid open and met mine. “I’m not sure.”“I am.” Keeping our gazes locked, I stood and rounded the table to stand beside her. “Get up.”Her eyes flared, but she did as she was told. I felt her heated focus on me as I shoved our dinner dishes to the side of the table, making room in front of us. “Sit.” I indicated the spot where her plate had just been. She only hesitated a moment, the air becoming thick between us. The blood was rushing through my veins like fire and I desperately needed to quench it. My erection strained behind my jeans and it was all I could do to control myself when she looked at me like she was getting off on my dominance. I wasn’t a kinky man, but I definitely liked to be in charge, in the bedroom and out. Call it the Ranger mentality.

Review

I absolutely loved the start of this series and Shauna had me on the seat of my pants trying to figure out whether or not Asher's sister was dead or not.  Gen and Asher together were off the charts hot!! I found the intrigue in this was seat of your pants AWESOME!!! My hat goes off to Shauna and I will definitely be picking up all of the other books in the series.  Asher, oh Asher - I loved him.  He's stoic and just a badass.  He has a vulnerable side when it comes to his family but I kept seeing him as such an Alphamale that I just couldn't help but love that.  All the brothers are adorable to me and I really felt for them and the parents.  They just want to find some sort of closure to the disappearance of their sister and daughter.  It's heartbreaking but at the same time eye-opening.  Shauna is now a must read for me and y'all have to pick this book up...LIKE RIGHT NOW!!!

Tank By Laramie Briscoe

Title: TankSeries: Moonshine Task Force #2Author: Laramie BriscoeGenre: Contemporary RomanceCover Design: Kari Ayasha, Cover To Cover DesignsRelease Date: June 2, 2017

Blurb
Life isn’t promised, love isn’t easy, and relationships aren’t always clean, but everyone has their soulmate who is willing to forgive when it would be better to forget.
Trevor “Tank” Trumbolt
I never thought in the blink of an eye my life could change, but it did. Cresting a hill driving to my favorite fishing spot, I was hit head-on by a teenager with no regard for anyone’s life but his own.

The recovery process has been hard, painful, and damn near beating me down.
The bright spot? Blaze.
Surviving the wreck has given me a second chance to make a life with her. Not knowing if I’ll ever be able to rejoin the Moonshine Task Force again has brought my world into focus. It’s made me realize what’s important.
Blaze. Stella. My brothers. My sister.
The ego that ran Blaze away before isn’t here any longer. What’s left is a man who’s holding his heart in his hands and a burning hope that once I’m healed she’ll still be around.
Daphne “Blaze” Coleman
There’s only been one person in the world who’s accepted me for who I am - from the fiery red of my hair and vibrant tattoos covering parts of my body to the smartness of my mouth and my desire to be matched in the bedroom.
That man is Trevor Trumbolt. When he asked me to give up my job as an EMT because he saw the dangers I face one scary afternoon, it spelled the end for us.
Now that he’s been injured, he needs my help and my love. I’ll give it all freely, but in the end I’m gonna need him to understand one thing about relationships. The give and take, love and sadness, pleasure and pain is a two-way street. He’s either in this with me or he’s not, but at the end of the day, I won’t let him boss me around.
If there’s anything that can handle the steel of a tank – it’s the heat of a blaze.

He carries a big stick. And he’s not afraid to use it.

After I had read this book, I went back and started reading the rest of LP's books again. I just love her writing style and not because she lives in my state either. I'm supposed to go to a writing retreat in June, and I'm probably going to fangirl over her the entire time...just saying. It's gonna happen. Her books are always my go-to books for romantic suspense, and I'm always on the edge of my seat going "who's the villain because I know it's someone close to the main character?" This story didn't disappoint!! In fact, I almost chewed all my nails off because you know who the villain is, but there's just so much heartbreak in this one that I shed a tear y'all. Yep, I sure did. I cried, and I wanted to punch out Mitchell with a giant barbell cause that's how we do it in the south, after ripping off his balls. Yeah, he wouldn't have made it to prison in our family. We're more like the Irish mafia in the Armed and Dangerous stories...you mess with us, and that's the last it happens. No really, we're sweet - like tea!! I promise.

So, this book had me at the first chapter, and I couldn't not stay up reading it all night. That and because I'm OCD. I'm up drinking my 12 cups of coffee and reading the next chapter and the next...which I'm hoping she writes books on ALL the players because I love hockey and I'll review them all. HINT HINT L.P. - I will personally be your reader just call me??? Kay!! Now, I don't give praise where praise isn't due because I'm a picky chick but girl can write, and I'm not just saying that...she can - if you haven't read her books, I have two questions: 1. Do you live in a cave? 2. Are you human?

Kellan Carter had me like chocolate has those little M&M's on TV...all over it!! He's a delicious piece of man, and I'm not a woman who objectifies a guy, but there's another author that writes Alpha men and I love her, but L.P. took her place after this book. The way he handles Kristen and the way he just keeps at her, I loved it. It also made me realize that I'm so jaded towards men that I should seriously take a step back and see them a little differently and for me, that's a miracle. Now, Mitchell - her psychotic ex, who literally will stop at nothing to get her back...ladies I don't think that I will EVER date a man named Mitchell because of this book. You know how you get food poisoning and you won't eat that food again? Yeah, that's kind of how it was for this name. He could be the sweetest guy, and I'd have to make him change his name.

Alllll of the above to say...buy this book!! What are you waiting for? Seriously, this is a darn good book, and it will make you want to read her other books as well.

I was given a copy of this ARC from the publisher on NetGalley for an honest review. All of the above comments are my express opinions and no one else's.

Review: One by Jewel E. Ann

One One by Jewel E. Ann
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Lake Jones is a cover girl for cutting-edge prosthetic legs, a binge-watcher of Netflix, known to spy on her neighbor through her door’s peephole, and fond of laser games with her hairless cat. She’s also a bit sexually-frustrated.

Until …

God bestows a breath of mercy upon her in the form of Minnesota’s NFL starting quarterback. But this gift is no stranger. Lake met Cage Monaghan three years earlier.

It was one day.
One moment.
One kiss that resurrected her dreams of finding love.

His dimpled smile distracts from his imperfections, which include: a love for country music, fishing, and a feline-hating girlfriend.

When life finally gives them their chance, it’s a humorous and heart-wrenching journey to find their place in the world.

This is a sort of spinoff of the Jack and Jill series. I found that you really need to read those books to get and understand Lake and Cage's character. I loved Cage in the other books and I wanted him to have his happily ever after. I'm really hoping that Jewel Ann writes about Everson because I loved him. I like my books with a little suspense and a little romance - this had both. I'm not big on spoilers so I'll tell you that you just need to read all of the series. Settle in for the long haul because it's a doozy. I, for one, found myself crying on several occasions because it was heartwrenching. Not because Lake ever lets her circumstances get her down...because she doesn't!! But because of the other books in the series.

Title: Bad ThingsSeries: Love is Messy Duet #1Author: Emily GoodwinGenre: New Adult RomanceRelease Date: May 11, 2017 They say it’s better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all. Until I took on a project I normally wouldn’t, and it introduced me to someone I never would have talked to before.
