Cousins In Love Coming Soon: Cover & Synopsis!

Cousins In Love

COUSINS IN LOVE – BOOK 3 Cousins Series

They all think that I’m a phase. A fetish. A temporary fixture. But I love my cousin Elizabeth, and there isn’t sh*t anyone can do to change or destroy that … even her.

Being hopelessly in love with tatted, sexy, bad boy, Roman Masterson can be exactly what one would imagine. Intense. Passionate. Consuming. Dangerous.

After fighting so hard to be together, there still continues to be forces working against them. Yet the most difficult obstacles seem to be the ones that come from within.

Author’s Note: Cousins In Love is a reader requested continuation of Roman & Elizabeth’s story. It would be best enjoyed after reading both Cousins 1 and 2 of the Cousins Series. HEA. No cliffhanger!

Be notified of it’s release by joining my VIP mailing list!

What Is The Bookworm Box?

IMG_2270

Sending Cousins To Bookworm Box

The Bookworm Box is a not-for-profit company formed by one of my favorite authors Colleen Hoover. It is a subscription service that sends readers a monthly box of two SIGNED paperbacks from great indie authors as well as some author swag (bookmarks, pens, etc.). All books and swag are donated to the organization and 100% of the proceeds (after expenses) go towards different charities of the company’s choosing. They’ve been able to raise an astounding amount of money in their first year and look to ramp things up in 2016.

One of my goals for the new year is to give more of my time and/or my talents to things worthwhile. Things that I normally have said no to in the past, because I was concerned about the time commitment, I’m going to say yes to. It’s easy to get mono-focused about the bills we have to pay. And while that is uber important, it was the only thing I thought about for a very long time.

I changed that in 2015. I started writing for pleasure instead of for profit and guess what? That’s how Cousins was born AND I should have done it fifteen years ago! I love every minute of it. I also want to be mindful that I’m also doing things to help others. It’s important to me and it’s important to show my girls. That’s why one of those things will be to regularly give to The Bookworm Box. It ties my love of reading with giving, and while I can’t give a slew of books like some of the more established authors, I will give what I can for as long as I can. And I’m going to feel real good while doing so!

Let me know if you subscribe to The Bookworm Box in the comments below.

Scrivener Tips: How To Label Your Scenes By Point Of View

I write New Adult Contemporary Romance. In this genre, many authors like myself will write from a dual point of view. This can make things very tricky when you’re writing and editing a novel, as it was for me when I was first writing Cousins. I had no quick way of visually seeing what chapters were in what point of view in Word and even when I first started using Scrivener, I didn’t know what to do. But it’s super easy to label your scenes and chapters with a point of view in Scrivener. I’ll show you:

In the right hand column of Scrivener, in the notes section, scroll down to the “General” section where you will see this image. You will be working with the Label drop down area. When you drop this down you will see default labels such as: notes, chapter, scene, etc. But the cool thing about Scrivener is that you can EDIT these labels.

1. Click on the label drop down button and then click on EDIT.

scrivener tip

2. When you click on EDIT, a Meta-Data box will open where you can start filling out your label information like this:

3. Simply click on the color label you’d like and edit the NAME of that label. You can add or eliminate labels and play with the colors. Then click OK to save.

4. Now that you’ve made your labels, you go back to the chapter or scene you were working in and select the label that is appropriate for that scene. For example, when I write scenes written in the point of view of my protagonist Elizabeth, I select the yellow Elizabeth label.

scrivener tip

5. If you view your entire manuscript in corkboard mode, you will see that all your cards have been color coded by their labels in the right hand corner. That means with a quick glance, you can see a synopsis of each of your scenes and whose point of view each are in!
