October Interviews – Encarz!
Handing the mic over to Encarz. It’s a bloody miracle, I haven’t heard the man speak for months!
——-
Was it hard murdering your own mother?
Not especially. Pushing someone off a balcony railing does not warrant much physical effort. Did I regret it? I might have, if I had given myself the time. But once I looked down and saw her blood running down the iron fence posts and into the snow… I knew there was no time for something as time-consuming as even a tinge of sadness. There was too much that had to be done following her demise.
Have you ever fallen in love?
Once, I think it was safe to say I was in love. But the act of loving never served me, it only brought destruction to those I chose to inflict my affections upon.
Now that Pharun has taken the throne from you, have your feelings towards him changed?
Feelings? No. I have no feelings towards him. He has never been more to me than a crippling inconvenience and a cruel infliction from the gods. Do I see him, now, in a different light? I see him as capable of doing more than just talk. He accomplished what he said he would do, and that is worthy of note (even if it took him for goddamn ever).
What does it take to have a long reign as a king?
You must put the kingdom and the throne above all else. A man who is incapable of putting his lover, his family, or his friends second is not fit to rule for any length of time. A king must be iron, he must be solid and resolute and unforgiving. That is what I hope for in Shrukian, if he ever has a chance for the throne.

What was Encarz’s father like? How did you two meet?
My husband, Prokopios, was exactly as you would expect. He was a weak man who overcompensated for his shortcomings with feigned ambition and cruelty. When I was young, too young to marry, I was given to be his wife. Had I a choice, I would have never married such a fool.
What was Encarz’s relationship with his father? Was there one?
Prokopios was too busy stirring up minor skirmishes with his barons and pretending to be king. When he did pay attention to his sons, it was only to inflict pain and abuse. He was often drunk and he had a temper that was quick to combust. He made sure they hated him.
What was Encarz like growing up?
He was a good boy. He loved his mother. He was a fine man, a good warrior, a sharp thinker. He was intelligent beyond his years but always very down-to-earth. I appreciated that he was not a man of nonsense – not like his brother. Graeme was always an inspired mind and a very dull child.
Do you take your murder personally?
Of course I do. What kind of ungrateful, terrible boy kills his own mother who gave him the world? He could have been so happy if he had just trusted me as he used to.
What was it like ruling as a woman in Dragoloth?
Very difficult. Everyone wants to make you jump through as many hoops as possible. Perhaps if i had taken things over in a different way it could have been another story.
Describe a time when you put a man in his place.
Besides the time when I made my husband swallow poison, and then had him buried while he was still breathing? (Something they don’t tell you, in the history books).
When did you first get a taste of real power?
As soon as Prokopios died, and I could breathe again as a woman who was not controlled by her husband.

October Interviews – Olympia!
Cy is behind – Cy is very behind in posting, responding, and everything else! I’m also behind on these interviews. So here we go – Blitzkrieg catch-up!!
———————————
What was it like growing into a woman in Dragoloth?
I was ignored through much of my childhood. Pharun was a pain in the ass and Shrukian was father’s pride. I was confined to my nurses and my embroidery. Dragolothian women are not often taught how to read, but one sympathetic tutor educated me in modern letters, though I cannot read the ancient ones.
When did you and Shrukian start to become more than brother and sister?
He was sixteen, I think, I was nearly nineteen. He was such a beautiful man, then, young and fresh with new muscles. You would not be able to ignore him, either, if he were living just down the hall from you.
When Encarz found out about you and Shrukian, how did he react?
At first he wanted to discourage it heavily, but then he started to ignore it. I think he knew that there was nothing he could do to make it stop… and Shrukian meant so much to him that he would have pulled down the moon to put on his cloak pin if he thought it would make his son happy.
What do you have to say to all of your haters (like me ;p)?
You don’t know a strong woman when you see one, and if you do then you must resent them. You don’t know anything about my life and you have no right to judge me.

October Interviews – Shrukian!
-This one is fairly short. Feel free to add any additional questions in the comments!-

Describe an embarrassing event from Pharun’s childhood.
I can’t believe he told you that fire story.
Me: Shhh!!! Can you just answer the question please?
You want to know his most embarrassing moment? When he was seven or eight he was the roundest member of our family. Yes, he had fat cheeks and chubby legs and you could roll him like a barrel. He was such a little prat, too… one day we just got sick of him being a little asshole and we (Olympia and I) tripped him in the hallway. He fell down some stairs – he BOUNCED – and once he hit the ground he just kept rolling. We were too busy laughing to even bother to help him. Obviously he was fine. But he deserved it. Little prick.
What was your first crush like?
It was strange and it felt wrong, because she was my sister. Puberty is kind of like getting hit in the face repeatedly with your own cock. It slammed into me hard. I saw stars for weeks. It’s like I just woke up one day and realized that she was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen or ever would see. My crush was a secret for a full year because I didn’t know how to approach her about it.
Describe how you first met Septimus >:3
We were in a prison in Avralaen, believe it or not. We were confined to the same cell. He did not speak a lick of Common and I had no clue as to what in the seven hells he was saying. He was a type of Verian, that was all I knew, but not like I had ever seen. We spent enough time in that cell that learning how to communicate was all we had to do. Well, almost all we had to do… >.>

October Interviews – Pharun
- Image is DeviantArt’s Mir Nye-
It’s finally October, which means the character interviews are finally popping up! Today we have Pharun in the hotseat.
——
How did you and Felix meet?
High Priest Gwynafor had just died and of course, I was summoned to step in and name the next High Priest. Felix was just an adorable little cleric, then, with big blue eyes and an earnest face. I wanted nothing more than to ruin all of the innocence behind his smile, even though that is what drew me to him, and what I fell in love with.
Why do you keep Jhauril around?
Darling, some things are beyond the understanding of even the gods. Jhauril has over the years been belligerent, mean, and unattractive as always… yet he’s also been loyal, and he has attached himself to me, and I can’t seem to rip out the stitches that bind us together. He has done many things that are not worthy of forgiveness, but…
What was it like being the eldest child?
It’s a burden, honestly. You are constantly being held responsible for the errors of your younger, stupid siblings. When Shrukian was three and he tried to eat a beetle and started crying because it wanted to crawl up his nose, who do you think got the blame? I never even got to experience the benefits of being the older sibling. Everyone has always treated me as though as I am the youngest, the bastard outcast – the last-ditch effort of my father’s loins. The only thing I have ever been able to do is say “Because I am older” and trust me, darling, at my age that taunt loses a lot of its charm.
What was Shrukian like as a young boy?
He was an absolute moron. The aforementioned beetle incident was not an isolated one. He was always trying to eat everything, whether or not it moved, and he was always trying to hit you with something trying to pretend he was a knight. When he started growing he became a clumsy little weed. Encarz had to throw him into the army to keep him from getting lost underneath the maid’s skirts.
What was Olympia like as a teenager?
She was as she continues to be – a pain in my ass. I tried to avoid her at all costs, though I do remember her and Shrukian being glued to the – hip – at some point. I always assumed she would end up making babies before her sixteenth year… and then I dreamt that Encarz would be forced to sell her to some disgusting old lord who would take her away forever. I never quite got my wish. She was always obsessed with being the most beautiful or the most intimidating. It never worked.
What’s something Shrukian doesn’t want anyone to know about his past?
He almost set the castle on fire, once. He was in bed with a lady that no one cared about and he thought to dabble in sadism by lighting a candle and dripping the wax onto her back. Well, the candle lit the bed canopy on fire, which set the curtains on fire, which would have spread to the entire castle if he hadn’t thought to get me. I will never forget the sight of him half-naked and quaking in terror. He owed me for that one.

I bet you know what I’m thinking…
I’m thinking October is the perfect time to delve until uncomfortable, unhappy pasts!
Surely you have wondered things about Pharun’s childhood, or Shrukian’s teenage years. But not just the general stuff. The specifics.
Well, this is your lucky month! Starting on the first and going until I run out of characters, you get to ask questions about the gritty details that otherwise may never have been told.
Just so you know, Shrukian’s face looks like this:
As usual, there are a million ways to ask! Don’t be shy. Comment here, on Facebook, or even on Twitter using #bitchking (still trying to make that a thing). You can also email me at writeme@cn-faust.com – and you know I love to hear from you!
Here is what the character lineup looks like so far:
October…
1st – Pharun
2nd – Shrukian
3rd – Olympia
4th – Ekaterini
5th – Encarz
6th – Graeme
7th – Adriel
8th – Cyrano
9th – Nerissa
10th – Austric
11th – Benito
12th – Felix
13th – Meridith
14th – Domenico
15th – Malhii
16th – Brisha and Raul
17th – Ravenel
18th – Jhauril
19th – Varijin
20th – YOUR PICK!
That’s all I’ve got so far. Maybe not a full month’s worth, but a respectable amount! I can’t wait to hear from you!

There is always a flicker in the night, but who is brave enough to stand amidst the flames?
The blackness of night consumed her, but she always thought it would lift. Time does not heal all wounds. Freedom is not hers to claim. And as the months pass, she realizes she no longer wants the light at all.
The keys to her future have been seized from Lucian’s hands. The power is hers now, and it is clear that she might be the only person who can bring Veodue out of ruin. In a battle…

October Releases and Bargains
For the entire month of October I’m going to be searching for, reblogging and promoting other people’s books that are either releasing or up for some special sale, especially if it has to do with Halloween. (October is kind of my favorite month). So if you’ve got something going on, point me your way! I’m going to start with my own news, since that’s all I have. :P
1) OCTOBER 1st (projected) DRAMS IS BEING RELEASED!
Some of you have already told me you are excited, so I hope to live up to my own hype! This will be my first real attempt to take a crack at an urban paranormal drama. The best part? Drams will be 0.99 cents on Amazon until November 1st! All the way through Halloween!
2) Mr. Fingers – ALSO 0.99 cents until November 1st!
A perfect chilly October afternoon read. Available soon on Amazon!
3) Baron of Blood gets a reboot!
Baron of Blood (one of my ‘orphan’ titles as Anne Rice would say) is the prequel to the Age of Waking Death series and one of my better works (in my opinion). It’s getting a reboot this October with a brand new cover, plus an additional chapter offering a sneak peek into its sequel, Baron of Poison! Only $2.99 starting soon!
Of course, The Age of Waking Death series is also going to be back up on Amazon! I wouldn’t leave them behind. :P That’s all of the news for October that I have so far. Can’t wait to look at yours!

I LIVE.
So I deleted my previous post because after contacting my publisher today, we came to an understanding. Due to unforeseeable circumstances on their end, I am now free of my contract and can once more let my books go live on Amazon.
WHICH IS AWESOME. Because now I feel like I can finally make REAL progress with “The Bitch King” instead of letting it drift in limbo (as it has been for almost a year). “Drams” is still set for its October 1st release, and “Baron of Poison” (sequel to Baron of Blood) is also a project in queue.
So now that I have more control, my writing is going to pick up pace. I’m going to be very busy.
Here is a peek at what the series are going to look like, with the unpublished titles marked in purple.
Age of Waking Death Series
The Dragon’s Disciples
The Heretic Priest
The Hollow Living
The Bitch King
The Queen of Nothing
The Final Knell
Dawning Era Saga
Baron of Blood
Baron of Poison
Baron of Madness
Vile Novellas
Mr. Fingers
Disposable
He Came Back
I Have to Go
Daughter of Mr. Fingers
Her Majesty’s Spider
Her Majesty’s Spider
Her Grace’s Hope
Her Own
Misc Works
Drams
My writing queue is maybe unreasonably long.
