I FORGOT TO SHOW YOU GUYS.

This easter weekend brought an influx of BABY DUCKS. Trés appropriate.

"They were identical in many respects, yet opposites all the same.  After many encounters facing one another on the battefield and off, they knew each other better than siblings, more intimately than lovers; they were two halves destined to become whole.”

Fantasy Flashback: THE MAGICIAN'S NEPHEW, by C.S. Lewis

Fantasy Flashback: THE MAGICIAN'S NEPHEW, by C.S. Lewis :

yagameoftomes:

There are many fantasy books that have shaped who I am as a writer, but THE MAGICIAN’S NEPHEW by C.S. Lewis (the first book in the Chronicles of Narnia series) holds a special place in my heart. In fourth grade, my teacher would read a chapter a day to us from the series, starting with the…

Frozen by erinbowmanThe second book in Erin Bowman’s gripping dystopian sci-fi series, this exhilarating sequel to Taken is perfect for fans of Incarceron by Catherine Fisher and Variant by Robison Wells. Click here to start reading it now!

House of Ivy and Sorrow by nataliewhipple:Hiding the fact that she’s a witch has never been a problem for Jo Hemlock—but when the Curse that killed her mother resurfaces, her normal life and her secret one collide. House of Ivy and Sorrow is the perfect blend of The Raven Boys and CharmedClick here to get a head start reading it.

YES. Really enjoyed TAKEN, and am looking forward to FROZEN.

But! But!

HOUSE OF IVY AND SORROW, guys. It is one of my favorite books. My favorite Natalie has ever written. It has magic that always comes at a cost, and incredibly strong relationships between women—mothers and daughters, grandmothers and granddaughters, friends who become sisters. Not to mention a cute, sweet boy and a cute, definitely not sweet boy…

But what I love about this story is, at its heart, it is always about the girl, Josephine. And I think a lot of stories lose that.

Anyway. I’m sleep-deprived and slap-happy and I love this book SO. FREAKING. MUCH. I hope you do, too!

YES TO ALL. HOUSE OF IVY is glorious and sweet and creepy and and and SO MANY THINGS.

Today is the FINAL DAY you can get TRANSPARENT for $1.99! So here I am pulling out an old piece of art I did for the book’s release almost a year ago—Fiona on her first day of “normal” school.

If you like sucky superpowers and your sci-fi more on the YA contemporary side, you might want to try it out now.

On Barnes & Noble
