Top 5 Most Anticipated Pre-Orders For The Rest Of 2015
In order of their release….
1. Legacy of Kings by Eleanor Herman - August 18th
As soon as I saw the cover of this one I was intrigued. Then I saw the name of the series, Blood of Gods and Royals, and had to know when this book was being released. Lucky for me the wait ends mid-august. It’s set in Macedonia which I think will be really interesting. Can’t wait to check out this new series.
2. Queen of Shadows by Sarah J Maas - September 1st
I’m sure this will be on many peoples lists. After Heir of Fire I just really need to know how this series is going to start tying together all the different characters and plots, more than they already have. I also can’t wait to see what new characters will be introduced and see where favourite characters end up. Unfortunately I have been collecting these in the American paperback editions so unless my lovely library stocks a copy it may be a bit before I read this one. Avoiding those spoilers will be a challenge.
3. Ice Like Fire by Sara Raasch - October 13th
This is my most anticipated release for the rest of the year! I was so surprised by just how much I loved Snow Like Ashes. It was a birthday present and while I was interested in the book it wasn’t something I had plans of picking up right after it came out. The world is just so rich and the characters are so likeable. I can’t wait to return to the beautiful writing!
4. Illuninae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff - October 20th
October is looking to be a good month for books I want to read. I love Amie Kaufman’s Starbound series with Meagan Spooner and I have been hearing good things about this book from those who have received ARCs. I also need to sprinkle some sci-fi into all of the fantasy I read.
5. Their Fractured Light by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner - December 1st
Some more sci-fi that I’m really looking forward to! I haven’t read the synopsis of this book yet because I still haven’t read the second book, This Shattered World. However, I will be stuck at a cottage in the middle of nowhere for two weeks in the near future without internet access and my plan is to read the entire time. The second book is on my cottage TBR and I’m sure I will be even more excited for the concluding book in the trilogy once I’ve completed This Shattered World.
So many great books to look forward to for the rest of 2015! I’m sure I will be adding many of these to my favourite books of the year once I’ve read them. Check out the Top 5 Wednesday Goodreads group to find other lists like mine.

This took much longer than I thought it would. I think I went slightly overboard. If you look closely you can see that I animated each of the seasons individually.

Are you the devil?
I think it’s safe to say I’m officially in love with Harley Quinn.

Hi Sara I contacted you not too long ago about advice for young authors and I found your response so motivational and helpful. I was wondering if when you were thirteen (like I am now) you had a very different plot for Snow Like Ashes. When I started my st
Agh! Somehow this got lost in my Tumblr inbox. So sorry for the delayed response!
But to answer your question: OH GOD YES. Comparing SNOW LIKE ASHES to the draft I wrote when I was a teen is shockingly different. Really, only the character names and general world is similar – everything else has been completely overhauled.
That’s all part of the editing process, and growing as a writer – learning what to cut, what to keep, what to add, etc.

I was inspired by a post on epicreads (link).I’m really happy with how this turned out. I think I’m going to animate the cover of Ice Like Fire next. That’ll be a challenge because I don’t know how to make realistic lava.
