The Biography of Marilyn Monroe
I really enjoyed this book. I am able.to understand the truth about the life of a Hollywood icon and her daughter who suffered from having to remain a secret from the world and then being under undeserved scrutiny.
I loved the nostalgia that lends itself to all the great names and places of that era.

The biography of Marilyn Monroe fifty years after

Usually biographies follow a rather predictable if boring literary format. The facts are presented in strict chronological order and the reader then is supposed to realize why that person has earned a special place in history. However this new biography of Marilyn Monroe immediately shocks us because it uses a free flowing stream of consciousness language presented in two plays and a narrative. Beautifully written by the author/daughter, the result is to increase our empathy and understanding of both mother and daughter.(less)

Nina De Costa The literary format is unusual and may not appeal to the masses, however, the content is intriguing. In my opinion, the story is very credible, in light of how Hollywood stars were manufactured and exploited during that time.
This story portrays the tragedy of Marilyn's life!
One can only feel empathy for Marilyn, her family and mostly, her secret daughter.
Additionally, it is understandable how difficult it would be for her daughter to break the "myth" of this infamous star and how the impact of this secret would be perceived in Hollywood history.
Imagine, it was all a lie!
The book is worth the read!
