The Soundtrack of Sorrow

Has music played a significant role in your grief journey? Do certain songs still transport you? Trigger you? Legends Are Born in August

Sending you a heart-shaped postcard on what would be your 50th birthday, Alberto. Caught up with your mom and sis, but thunderstorms and work deadlines prevented my traditional bike ride or beach trip on August 14th. And tonight—from different perches and porches but under the same moon—we all raise an adult beverage to you.

And I ain’t mad because in the last year, I’ve been fortunate enough to visit Paris twice…with the man who I hope to spend the rest of my life with. So apropos that Jorge is the person with whom I finally scale this monument. (Eiffel Tower, Paris)
