Feeling Poetic (I think)

LIGHT....

Tiny flecks of brilliant light illuminate my spirit, a flowing drape around my pounding heart. The light is luminous. It warms me, inspires me, calms me, making me breathe slow steady breaths. It is a magical light, with swirls of color and beautiful dots that form pictures in my mind. A spring day, a rainbow, the ocean waves, a sunset. I see it all in the light. The light that bedazzles me, arouses me, mystifies me, and consumes me.

I can't help but be drawn to the light.

Why?

Because you are the light.

Never Too Far

Okay, so I realize I said I would be patient, and I'm trying. Now I think I'm in the "quiet desperation" stage. Twenty days until I get to see Rush again. The swagger, the hotness, the rock star.

I'll stop now.

For all of you who LOVED The Edge of Never like I did...I just saw that there will be a sequel to the book. That is straight from Jessica Redmerski herself.

Love Love - Prologue Excerpt

This was the moment I’d waited for my entire life, or so I thought. That’s if you consider seventeen years an entire life. It started out as a perfect day, but perfection can be an illusion.

Our blue gowns were fanning the breeze as we made our way up to the podium. The wind blowing through my hair made me feel alive, and free. I was inches away from my long awaited independence. All those days I sat on the bleachers watching football games and daydreaming about life after high school, and it was finally here. My feet were making their way up the stairs quickly. They had a mind of their own and I had difficulty keeping up with them. They obviously knew something I didn’t.

Mr. Shorley shook my hand firmly as he happily handed me my diploma. The sun’s rays bouncing off the paper gave it a rare glow. This was my golden ticket. Even better than a lifetime supply of wonka bars.

What would you say to your younger self?

I started thinking about the scene in Hopeless where Sky talks to her younger self. That made me think about some things I might say to my younger self if I had the chance....Hmmmmm.....

Make wishes, but don't wish the moments away. Dream big. Enjoy every single second, because those seconds add up to your life. Make them count. Backpack across Europe, ride in a hot air balloon, swim with the dolphins. Wear bright colors. Express yourself. Spread your wings. Fly. Eat as much chocolate as humanly possibly without getting sick. Open up your heart. Set yourself free. Do what makes you happy...REALLY makes you happy. Spend time with people that uplift you and caress your spirit. Take a chance. Life is worth the risk. You are worth the risk.

What would you say to your younger self?

Can't Sleep

Well, nothing like writing book reviews at 4:00am in the morning. I love writing book reviews, but I do not love not sleeping...

Patience

I realize that patience is definitely a virtue, and luckily it's a strong suit of mine or I'd be going out of my mind right now. I realize I am anxiously (I say that lightly of course) :), awaiting the release of five sequels, and here they are:

Entwined with You (Crossfire, #3) by Sylvia Day Walking Disaster (Beautiful, #2) by Jamie McGuire This Girl (Slammed, #3) by Colleen Hoover Never Too Far (Fallen Too Far, #2) by Abbi Glines The Redemption of Callie and Kayden (The Coincidence, #2) by Jessica Sorensen

Good things come to those who wait, and I'm confident these will be worth the wait!

Excerpt from Love Love

As the line is building behind me, he basically tells me in a sarcastic, biting tone that I’m going to have to step aside until I pick something. “Think you can speed it up a bit. You’re holding up the line.” So much for that. It was all sunshine and roses until he opened his mouth. Hot and cocky but with a big freaking attitude. Doesn’t mean I’m not going to check out his ass when he walks away though.
